The property was ok reasonably priced staff were helpful. The gym such has it was with only 3 pieces of equipment was not they werent even in a state of repair. Given how expensive iceland was we were happy

Good breakfast included. Two hot tubs. It's at the end of the best street in the city. Limited parking

Great hotel. The spa pass is worth purchasing while you're there, as they have two jacuzzis (one indoor, one outdoor), plus a dry sauna. A bit of major construction next door to the property, which I think is why you can get a good deal here at the moment. I was up early everyday, so construction didn't affect my stay. On-site parking is first come, first serve, so it fills up quickly. There are adjacent free parking areas, but it may be a bit of a walk. Great location to the downtown shops and restaurants. Staff was incredibly friendly. I'd for sure stay here again next time I'm in Iceland.

Well located hotel with sauna and outdoor spa. My room was located on the first floor next to the meeting rooms and the staff locker room. It got noisy in the morning. The room had windows but they opened to a wall. It felt claustrophobic and did not have direct light. I think this room shouldn't be use for guests. I only stayed 2 nights and I was pleased with the spa as i used it after long walks in the beautiful city of Reykjavik.

Happy we could check in early for a small fee and breakfast was included. Breakfast was great every morning. The room was perfect for my friend and I and was very clean. We also enjoyed the spa, but unfortunately the sauna was broken.

Hotel bem localizado, onde tivemos uma ótima recepção, atenciosos, com um lobby agradável e um ótimo restaurante. O serviço de arrumação do quarto deixou muito a desejar. Ficamos com a impressão que a equipe de arrumação tinha má vontade. Não arrumaram nossos quartos um dia e tampouco trocaram as toalhas.

There seemed to be mold in my room on the window frame. Hope they can start maintaining that going forward.

I like this hotel because of its location and convenience. Two things that were super annoying - there’s major construction happening adjacent to the hotel - major pipeline work where there’s insane jackhammering and vibration going on all day. I wish this was mentioned somewhere since it’s an inconvenience to guests. Second, the bathroom smelled like sewer and had no vent. I know this is often a thing on islands or cities where the sewer system is shallower than desired but this was a problem and with no vent/exhaust and the fact that the bathroom door had major gaps, it was very difficult to be in the room for too long. Other than that major piece, the room was clean.

It was nowhere near as nice as I expected. Room very small and cramped. No bottled water. Bathroom was very dark and difficult to find at night. No one to help with bags. Room was very light 23 hours a day and blackout curtains were difficult to use. Very noisy at night.

We had a great stay at Midgardur. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to dozens of restaurants and shops. The Reykjavík Kitchen is across the street and was fantastic. Also steps away is a food hall inside a renovated bus station with many options including delicious pizza, beer and ice cream. Laugavegur is a quiet one way street and it’s an easy walk into the CBD. We stayed 5 nights total, 2 in a standard room and 3 in a deluxe. The price difference for deluxe is definitely worth it. The standard room was tiny and hard to fit all of our luggage but the deluxe was huge by European standards. We booked some nights through Expedia and some directly through the hotel. Booking direct gets you complimentary breakfast (otherwise 25 euros pp) and use of their spa. The breakfast was a large spread of fruit, pastries, toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, yogurt, pickled herring, etc. If you don’t want to pay 25 euros, there are great cafes nearby and a fabulous bakery with a line out the door called Braud. The price on Expedia was lower. The staff were very kind and helpful. We arrived at 9:30am and were able to check in around 12:30pm (early check-in is complimentary if you book direct; regular check in is at 2pm). There is still ongoing construction next door and it was loud during the day. There’s a fantastic laundromat (Laundromat Wash) a 10 minute walk; much cheaper than the hotel. Overall we were very happy with our stay and highly recommend Midgardur.

A nice hotel even though without AC. Breakfast is better than their sister hotel (CenterHotel Plaza) at the other end of the busy street. Bathing area is half open without door or curtain. Bed is comfortable.

Overall great place to stay. Convenient location just a block from the start of the Main Street into town. Great food hall just around the corner. The room was spacious, comfortable and firm bed, bathroom was updated and modern. I got free access to the spa which was delightful. No one was there except me. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to bus stops and you can actually walk to BSI (about a mile). Bonus (economic grocery store) was a quick walk away to grab snacks and candy! Definitely recommend.

Nice hotel located on the edge of the city center. It was convenient for parking—no issues finding free street parking—but it's a bit of a walk to reach the main streets with bars and restaurants. The bathroom setup was a bit unusual: the sink is located outside the shower area, with no door separating it from the room. If you need something like body lotion, you have to step into the main room—naked, unless you're prepared ahead of time. Curtains weren’t sufficient to block out light at night, which made sleeping a bit challenging. There’s also a construction site directly in front of the hotel, and one night, machinery started operating as early as 4 a.m. One small note: I happened to check in on my birthday, and while it's not a big deal, the hotel didn’t acknowledge it in any way. Most places usually offer a small gesture, so just mentioning it in case management wants to improve on that point.

Beds were very soft. Room had no temperature controls. Shower not really hot. I was traveling with my 93 year old mom, which was know. We got there very very late and were given the furthest distance room possible

Rooms were spacious. The view from the windows were great, although one afternoon there were people on the roof fixing things, so we had to close our shade. The spa was great as far as the hot tub!

This hotel was in a great location for walking into the city to get food. The room was large and clean and the staff was excellent. I do wish that there had been more parking so we didn't have to park down the street and worry about tickets. Also proper blackout curtains during the summer would have been very beneficial.

The Wi-Fi is very unstable and was disconnected so often while I was doing something on the internet. It is very frustrating. The heater was not powerful enough to make the room warm. And there is no heater in the shower room. How about the towel rail? No! It was just steel. It was uncomfortable to take a shower in the cold room in the winter. I have got a cold.

Well-located hotel with well-appointed rooms just steps away from tour bus pick-up points and the nice Hlemmur Mathöll (food hall). This property offers a surprisingly complete breakfast buffet. But what set it appart this from the four others we used is the excellent front desk attendants, who were most helpful with directions, attractions, luggage storage and even other properties when we where stranded in Iceland for a week due to a strike at Air Canada.

Third time staying at CenterHotel Miðgarður and I wasn’t disappointed. The staff are genuinely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are really nice, clean and quiet. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choices. Love this hotels location and is only a few minutes walk to the city centre and great local restaurants. Will definitely stay here again.

the front desk employees are the best, specially Flori, that was an amazing Ambassador of the hotel, very kind and helpfull

Very clean property, did have a meal in the restaurant and i ordered a burger that was cooked rare it didnt say how it would come but i thought it would be cooked all the way through so was unable to eat it, my friend really enjoyed her meal and we then went on to have breakfast twice with the first time being great but the second time was not so good. The first night the flush on our toilet broke and we reported it the next day and it was fixed within the time of us going to have breakfast which was great! Overall the hotel was nice and clean i would maybe just state how they cook things for individual tastes.

amazing hotel. everyone is professional and welcoming. The rooms are spotless , they clean them daily. the restaurant in the hotel is also delicious and will bring up room service.

They need to improve their customer service. Check-in service is too hard. We are a group of 20 and used Expedia to make our reservation. Some of our group received early check-in but we did not have the same benefits. They also received free drinks and we did not??? Because we booked it Travelocity and we are not a premium member. Once again, thank you It is more negative feedback from the front desk representative. One of the front desk representatives I believe she is from Spain argued with me after waiting for at least 4 hours for early check-in she stated that due to the cleaning crew choosing and picking and making the decision in early booking. No urgency on their side. She was very unprofessional. Would I refer my friends and family to stay in your facility? Definitely not. There are a lot of center hotels in the Rejakavick area that I'm sure have an excellent customer experience to offer. I'm very dissatisfied customer.

Loved this hotel! The staff was great and allowed us an early check in.

We arrived to check in to the property and were notified at the time of check in that we in fact did not have a room reserved at the hotel because they oversold it which the receptionist told us "they do all the time". They moved us to a different hotel under their chain in a completely different neighbourhood 20 min walk away from this hotel. Our reservation had been confirmed for months prior and the hotel made no attempt to notify us of their error until we showed up to check in to our room. Unbelievably bad customer service to sell us one hotel and "bait and switch" us to another at the last minute. They tried to spin it as a "room upgrade" but we had very intentionally chosen this hotel as we had an early flight and wanted a quieter neighbourhood as well as use of this hotels spa facilities. Extremely disappointed in this experience. It is clear that they oversell rooms and just move people to their other hotels. We were shocked they did not attempt to notify us before arriving to the hotel that we did not have a room, leading to even more frustration than if they had just contacted us in the days or weeks prior to explain the situation.

If I could give a rating of 5+ for the service, I absolutely would!! I rated the area around the property 4 stars only because of the construction in the area but the front desk staff personally helped us find parking in the area which was absolutely wonderful. Our meals at the restaurant were delicious and the restaurant staff made the experience memorable! I would stay here again & would recommend to family and friends.

I had a great stay at Midgardur Hotel in Reykjavik. The location is perfect—right at the edge of the main street, close to everything. Our room was spacious and very comfortable for three people. The breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of tasty options to choose from. The staff were warm and helpful throughout. I especially appreciated that they let me check in early when I arrived at 10 am—such a nice touch after a long flight. Highly recommended!

The hotel is definitely in a very convenient spot. Unfortunately, until the middle of 2025, there is a huge roadworks right outside the hotel so the Hlemmer (that's pronounced 'klemmer' I think) bus stop is closed. That means the location isn't as convenient for transportation as it could be, but there are still multiple lines that go to the Laugavegur stop that's nearby. There were many souvenir shops, coffee shops, and little diners nearby on Laugevegur which was really helpful. To an American, the room (and TV) felt small, but it was certainly big enough for us. The tea service has powdered creamer and instant coffee plus tea bags. There is very little auditory privacy in the bathroom lol, but everything was clean and works nicely. The bed wasn't super comfortable, but I don't know if that's too hard or too soft because my hips are so particular.

It's right on the tourist mall and provides first come parking spots for free with stay. Easy hike to the harbor or shopping. Many grocery stores nearby if you don't want to pay extra for breakfast.

This hotel was in a perfect location as it is within easy distance to walk to the town center and main attractions in Reykjavik. Hotel was very modern and clean and rooms were comfortable. The tour bus and transfer bus right outside!

Well-located hotel witing easy walking distance to Hallgrimskirkja (big church in Reykjavik) and next to one end of the main shopping street. Hotels in this area are very expensive, and this was the cheapest one we found. Staff is friendly and helpful. Public areas are clean and well-furnished. Breakfast was good. Our room was pleasant, clean, and had everything we needed. We've been to Reykjavik before, on a tour. Don't recall the name of the hotel, which was OK, but certainly not in this area. It was in a dull, lifeless area of the city. the Miðgarður by Center Hotels was so much better. I higly recommend it.

So many wonderful things The property was stylish with great features, and close to shopping, restaurants, and an easy walk to many local attractions. Everything was immaculately clean and well-maintained and oh the food! The breakfast buffet was lavish, with both hot and cold options, with plenty of breads, skyr, and vegetarian choices. We had dinner in the restaurant one night, and the service was quick, friendly and impeccable. Both my Arctic Char and my companion's mushrom risotto were imaginatively flavored, with fresh spices and vegetables. A lot of the locals were eating there, which is a good sign. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. Crisp linens and complimentary robes and slippers. Those came in handy in the spa, with your choice of an indoor or outdoor hot tub. (I wasn't brave enough to try the outdoor hot tub, as it was a bit chilly.) We each had a massage, with great massage therapists. I was a pool of melted butter afterwards. However, all of the above pales in comparision to the quality staff. They were, to a person, friendly, helpful, competent, and made this stay an ourstanding one. A special callout to Florri behin the front desk, who helped us out with information confirmed our activity pickups, and so many other small things. She really enhanced our experience there.

The stay was great. Downsides are VERY limited parking and the breakfast was not great for the price.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, and both breakfast and dinner were brilliant. It felt like great value for our half-board booking. The spa was also really relaxing and peaceful. We’d definitely stay again.

Rooms and staff were great. Loved that there was a spa with hot pool & sauna. We used that every day. Also the hotel resteraunt has excellent food and is highly recommended as both a lunch and dinner choice.
