Great Hotel in a perfect location to access Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon ! Loved the shared hot tubs, my wife and daughter found the mini gym great. The room was an adequate size, but not much space really. All very clean and well kept. Bar area was lovely with big comfy chairs

it would have been AMAZING, except i slipped on the wet floor in the towel room near the sauna/hot tub. It was their crappy slippers and the fact that they SHOULD have the ENTIRE floor covered with slip proof mats,. not JUST by the entrance. When warning others, i was told "my friend slipped too last night" for the amount they are charging, they should have mats over the entire area!!!

Ein tolles Hotel in wunderschöner Lage im Nirgendwo an der Küste von Island. Direkt am Highway 1 gelegen, den man aber trotz straßenseitigem Zimmer nicht gehört hat. Das Hotel ist sehr hübsch eingerichtet und die Zimmer sind mit herrlichen Leseecken im Fenster ausgestattet. Sauna und Hot Tub waren toll (aber Vorsicht: EXTREME Rutschgefahr im Innenbereich, besonders in Hotel Slippers!). Es gibt eine Bar und ein Restaurant, das Hotel liegt direkt an einem Wasserfall.

We splurged on the $1000 suite but shower drain was clogged so water got all over the floor. The outdoor hot tub needed to be fully drained and refilled to use as it was cold upon arrival. Lock on door to room needed to be slammed extremely hard in order for it to close otherwise an annoying alarm would sound . Also hotel sauna was broken

This hotel has to be rated in relation to its cost. It was one of the most expensive hotels from a 2 week ring road trip but it failed to live up to expected standards. The rooms are fairly small is the first thing to note. And not sound proof in the slightest. This didn't make for a restful 2 night stay. The hotel claim to operate on eco friendly approach to room service so they wont service your room unless you request this at reception. Which is just added admin onto an expensive stay. I fully support not changing bedsheets and towels etc. But its a hotel cost saving and nothing else not to at least come into the rooms to top up tea and coffee supplies etc. The hotel is very remote so food options are limited. All the hotel offers is a very expensive restaurant with a menu that won't suit everyone. Further they have warnings in each room that no food prep must be done in rooms and to further prevent this they don't provide kettles. All just very petty and unhelpful. Pouring hot water into a pasta, soup or noodle pot should not be prohibited in rooms at this price. The bar was lovely at this hotel. And there are short walks you can do around the hotel to stretch your legs.

We loved our stay at Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon! The building is beautiful and very modern. The rooms were very clean and well equipped. I also noticed a very pleasant smell when I came in the room! We really enjoyed the hot tubs and the food was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Check in was very easy . Although there is both a steep ramp and several stairs to go from the road to the reception area, there is also a nice ramp for wheelchairs, etc. The receptionist was knowledgeable and friendly. The room was very spacious, with views of the ocean. Beds were very very comfortable. There Is an open closet with a refrigerator and a safe. There is a portable fan in the room. Bathroom was immaculate with very nice fixtures. Towels were large and thick/luxurious. The electrical outlets were located by the desk. I did not see any USB outlets so you will need to bring the appropriate chargers and cables for your devices. Staff are wonderful, and appear to have varying backgrounds. It's a nice international flavor. The wifi is very good. I did measure their wifi reception as follows: Upload 46 MBPS and download 70 MBPS in my room. There no restaurants in the surrounding area so you are bound to the hotel's restaurant. The food at the restaurant was, bytheway excellent. We rented a vehicle in Reykjavik and drove out here. The hotel will notify you if the Aurora Borealis is present: you have to sign up for this, and the service is free. We were treated to several spectacular Northern lights shows. We watched them from the hotel's parking lot as well as from the grounds on the side nearest to the ocean. The northern lights display was the highlight of our 3 week trip to this area of the world. There's very little ambient light so it was easy to see the

This is a beautiful hotel. It's in a very dark location so it's a great place to see the northern lights if the weather cooperates. Everything was clean and comfortable. Rooms were spacious even the shower which is rare in Iceland. Would definitely return for a stay here.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly. However, I do not recommend staying on floor 0 (I was in room 031). I felt like I was on the staff floor of the Titanic! I was in the hallway with staff doors, and on the floor with the sauna. The rooms are most definitely NOT sound proof. At all. And the doors—at least on floor 0–slam. Very very loudly. Which I could hear. Frequently. So I stuck in my headphones and called it an early night! The food there IS amazing and the hotel is beautiful. The hike to the waterfall near the hotel is very technical, so I had a beautiful waterfall all to myself! It was amazing. Just do not stay on floor 0.

Wonderful place to stay if you are around the area. Excellent staff. Had dinner there as well. Food is great and portion is huge. I have got an upgrade as well 😘. Room is big enough. Selected hotel for location and reputation. Room clean and comfortable, great spa facilities which were busy but not full although hotel busiest we had on our trip. Staff welcoming and restaurant staff very attentive. Breakfast self service abd extensive sekection. Restaurant food very good. Easy to park, access from main road. Great views.

This is a beautiful hotel. Well appointed, quiet, and remote. There's even a waterfall you can walk to right outside. Our room was very nice. The staff here needs work. Front desk staff took forever to check us in. There were two employees at the desk, only one of which had a customer. The second did his absolute best not to make eye contact with us. We waited at least 10 minutes to talk to someone. Restaurant staff was hit or miss. Bar staff was great. Restaurant staff seemed very unorganized and had a hard time keeping up with dinner. The breakfast buffet is a disaster. The way they have it configured is WAY too small for the amount of people staying there. Be prepared to throw some elbows at breakfast time with both customers and staff.

Hotel is in a very good location - about 25 mins drive from the Glacier Lake. We stayed for 1 night in January 2024. Hotel restaurant has lots of choice for breakfast. There is nowhere else to go to eat in the area for dinner but the restaurant at dinner is also excellent - very tasty and excellent service. Rooms were clean, beds were comfy I would stay again.

A luxury hotel in the middle of nowhere. There is not even a restaurant or mini-market close by. When you travel to this park of the country, you are in the wilderness as expected. The ambience of the hotel is top notch. Hotel has a nice restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was good. I am glad that Fosshotel has just a nice hotel in this remote area.

Lovely hotel in a great setting. Less than 20 minutes from Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Very friendly staff at check in and at the bar. The restaurant was very nice for both dinner and breakfast - great selection at breakfast including chocolate cake! A little expensive, but no more than Iceland in general. Nice room with twin beds as requested - at the end of a long corridor though so after dinner we were too tired to head to the hot tub and didn't really fancy walking that distance in a dressing gown and slippers (don't let that put you off though...the hot tub/sauna area did look lovely when we went to look in the morning before leaving). Easy check-in and easy check-out. Big car park outside. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Location is good for visiting the glacier lagoon, ice caves and diamond beach. Room was clean and beds were comfy. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. Make sure to make a reservation at the hotel restaurant. Food is good but most importantly there are no other places to eat close by the hotel.

Wow! This hotel was so aesthetically pleasing from the reception desk to the restaurant, rooms and spa area mirroring the landscape outside. Coffee, tea and bathroom extras such as makeup remover cloths. We were able to check in early and enjoy the hot tub and then wrap ourselves in thick terry robes and slippers. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also delicious with several menu items different from all the lamb and arctic char on others in Iceland. Yes, the price point was a little higher but a nice splurge on the south coast.

This property is convenient to travel along the southern points of Iceland, as we did. It is close enough to Vik and Diamond Beach/Glacier Lagoon and makes for a good option along these routes. The property was beautiful and had the best black out shades of any place we stayed at. Staff was very friendly and helpful and we used all the ammenities to include buffet breakfast, hot tub, and sauna. We also enjoyed dinner there, which was delicious.
