The reception staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. I sent a message on the morning of our arrival date that it was my mother's birthday and they had a card and little plate of cakes awaiting us, which was a very nice touch. The hotel itself is very nice and has a cosy feeling which is great after a long day of exploring in the cold. We had a spa access which was a nice extra and very relaxing. The location is good, it is only a 20/30min walk from main downtown and you can borrow an umbrella from the hotel if needed, bus stop 15 is a 2min walk for excursion drops. The hotel has a very nice bakery and restaurant which are reasonably priced for the area but there are also some good restaurants less than a 5min walk away for days where you don't want to venture out too far. We found free parking just a few minutes away from the hotel along Hlesgata & Rastargata I left our hired car here for 3 days straight and had no issues.

Room was clean & large enough For a family of 4. It has refrigerator, kettle with coffee/tea choices, hair dryer, iron, 2 chairs & small table. It has black Out curtain as well. The spa area was great place to relax. It has 2 big hot tub, sauna, lounging area with firepit in the middle. Bathrobe, slippers & towels were. Provided in the spa room. You need to book an appointment to use the spa at the front desk & get your locker room key from them. Parking was through street parking which is a bit difficult to find especially at night. You pay parking at P2 rate using Parka or Easy Park app. Location was about 20 min from main reykjavic attractions so we drove & parked by Hallgrimskirkja church (also P2) and walked around. Bonus grocery store is 5min walk from hotel & there are restaurants nearby. We had seafood at Seabaron (about 7min walk), portion was big & yummy!

We loved our stay here! The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The spa is absolutely heavenly! It’s a must! We especially loved seeing the cat Mango-Chutney who would pop by every so often in the lobby.

This is a lovely hotel near the harbour. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was clean amd had a lovely view to the mountains and harbour. We had a balcony which was an added bonus. The only niggle I had was from noisy neighbours (nothing filthy). I did request my room to be cleaned but it never happened during my 3 night stay. The hotels restaurant was amazing. The food was delicious. I recommend the lamb if its still on the menu. If you fancy eating out, the steakhouse near the harbour is fantastic. Parking at the hotel is limited and you may have to park along the side streets. I didn't use the spa facilities but I heard they were lovely. If you're looking for a hotel near the harbour, 15 minutes from the centre, delicious food and clean rooms then this is the place to stay.

Comfortable and clean hotel in a good location, within easy walking distance of the harbour and town, and a few minutes away from the bus stop for excursion pick ups. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of options, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

Pretty decent hotel. Has a kind of vibe of trying to be a bit too "cool". The room was comfortable and clean, but the worst part of the room was the non-locking, semi-transparent, swinging bathroom door. Really terrible design choice. Service was great and everyone was friendly.

Had a really lovely stay at the Grandi! Our corner suite was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast each morning, and relaxed at the spa every night. The hotel staff was very accommodating and communicative. Looking forward to coming back and staying here again!

Excellent, supportive staff.. cheerful & friendly. Although our room was on the top floor, there wasn’t much of a view. Bar & breakfast were efficient with plenty of choice. Room was clean although there wasn’t much storage space for our clothes. You had to come out of the toilet to wash your hands, with the sink in the hallway. Lighting wasn’t adequate.

Fairly spacious room. Huge bathroom with a shower and a tub but also the smallest sink I have ever seen in a hotel. No ac so if you’re there in the summer your room will be warm.

There are three major design mistakes in the rooms. 1- eventhough rooms are large enough, sink is outside of the toilet and inside the room. This is terrible as if you wash your hand, you wake up your guest. 2- toilet door is made of glass and not sealed in the wall. There are large gaps in the Sides, bottom and top of the door which is very annoying as you clearly hear everything going on in the toilet. 3- there is only blackout curtain and not net-curtain. You cannot enjoy natural light. you have to use the lights on and keep the blackout curtain all day long otherways neighbours can see you naked while you walk out of shower.

The staff were exceptionally nice and helpful across the board, at reception, restaurant and cleaning staff. Our room was spacious, bed comfortable and clean On the negative, room was way too warm, we slept with the window open but then you have noise, we slept poorly. Also not enough storage for our things. Not enough hooks in the bathroom or even shelves for toiletries.

This was a trip with my wife and daughter. We were flying standby with no guarantee that all of us (or any of us) would have a seat. I contacted the hotel ahead of our stay asking to allow my wife to checkin even if I'm not present. They accepted, and confirmed they added a note to my reservation. Upon arrival, you guessed it, they refused to let my wife checkin and insisted that I had to be there. Fortunately, all of us had made the flight and I was only 20 minutes behind as I was running an errand. But I can't imagine how pissed I would have been if I hadn't boarded the flight and they'd leave my wife and daughter unable to checkin for a room that we had already paid in full. So yeah, it's a pretty serious issue so I'm taking away two stars for that reason. The rest was fine, just that checkin issue. What's the point of contacting the hotel well in advance to make arrangements and the hotel agreeing to the requests for it to be ignored or denied upon arrival? I wasted my time and they wasted theirs in all those pre-arrival comunications, and had I not made the flight the consequences would have been very bad.

I would rate it more than 5 stars because of the staff. They were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. I want to particularly complement Ewa at the reception desk on 3/8/2025. I originally reserved a transfer to KEF airport at 1pm with a transfer bus service company. I had to leave early that day. The bus transfer company refused to change my transfer to an earlier pick up which I understood. After Ewa found out my problem, she volunteered to contact the bus company on my behalf, and was able to change it for me. Many thanks to Ewa!! That goes to show excellent customer service at the very best. Kudos to Ewa and Grandi By Center Hotels!

First time visitor. Property was great, they seemed to remember small details about us and we did see a lot of the same faces during our stay. They accommodated every ask, and also provided advice on transportation one early morning. Bus stop #15 is very close by and convenient for tour pick up.

Hotel staff were very helpful with a variety of requests. The location is great for activities from the harbour and it is a very short distance from one of the standard tour bus pickup stops (including the bus to and from the airport.) I found it much quieter at night than staying in the central shopping district. The coffee shop within the hotel is also excellent.

Staff and the hotel itself were very nice. Cute microbakery attached for breakfast. Parking was a challenge as there is no onsite parking and you have to find your own on busy streets. To be honest, I thought it would be closer to the city center based off its name. It really isn’t. If being in the middle of the city doesn’t bother you, try this place out.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Loved the spa. Although the property is not at the center of the town, it is about 10 minutes walk to rainbow street and shopping/dinning area. We stayed in Iceland one night but will definitely go back.

So… don’t get me wrong, the hotel and reception staff were ace. The only gripe we had, which is important because it starts the day off… was the hot breakfast options….. The breakfast may have been “included in the price” but that doesn’t mean it was not taken into consideration with the room fees…… The hot options were terrible…. The cardboard cold hash brown things…. The watery boil in a bag “scramble egg” the cold hard boiled egg and the concrete consistency porridge…. Were absolutely disgusting… The cold selection was good/adequate… And because the price of the breakfast is most likely added into the room price- surely that means the food is paid for… therefore if you want to take things away- that should be acceptable like in every other hotel we have stayed in over the world…. We were told we could not take any food out of the breakfast room…. No reason- was just told- we can’t do it… I’m sorry but it’s paid for therefore we should be able to do as we please?? We were embarrassed by a member of staff in front of other residents which was great!! Was not best pleased at all…

Great location. 15 min.from the downtown. Excellent spa- highly recommend. Breakfast was kinda boring. Excellent coffee. The construction sites (both sides) makes it a little dusty and uncomfortable. I like it. And will stay again.

This is a lovely hotel with a pleasant ambiance, nice amenities, and a GREAT breakfast bar. My only critique is that the restaurant could offer a few choices that are "low carb" for people who are diabetic.
