This property is in the middle of nowhere but was perfect for a stayover for our roadtrip from the airport to Hofn/the glacier area. Rooms are very basic but beds were very comfortable, and a coffee machine is provided. It was convenient to have a nice restaurant on premise. Buffet breakfast is included in the price.

This was the most expensive 1night stay during our 2 week vacation around Iceland. It was probably the least accommodating and we were not impressed with the rooms. We stayed here towards the end of the trip, so we knew what to expect with “Europe style rooms”. Convenient location and two restaurants inside.

Very nice hotel with two different restaurant options. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Great option to stay if visiting the Skaftafell area. We were fortunate to see the Northern Lights on our night there!!!

What a unique hotel. The view from our balcony was spectacular. We were in the middle of a lava field, with fantastic views of the distant volcanoes and glacier. The rooms were nicely decorated, very clean and simple. The food was very good. Included breakfast had many options. Great stay.

The whole place felt like it needed an update. Our bathroom had a lot of built up grime in the shower and sink and the toilet seat was cracked. They never replied to my Expedia message before we arrived and said it wasn’t possible for us to have our beds made up as a double. Overall a very disappointing stay.

Für eine Übernachtung OK, aber zu teuer. Der Empfang war freundlich. Die Rezeption selbst und das Restaurant nebenan sind schön und modern. Bei den Zimmern sieht es anders aus: Das Hotel wirbt mit Fotos, die nicht der Realität entsprechen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit alten Möbeln. Das Bad war leider nicht sauber, unter anderem waren Urinflecken auf dem Toilettendeckel und die Dusche war nicht sauber. Ausserdem war ein brauner Fleck auf dem Bettlaken. Eine Jalousie war auch defekt und schmutzig. Am Abreisetag kam ein Mitarbeiter einfach ohne anzuklopfen rein, was für mich ein No-Go ist. Beim Auschecken war von der freundlichen Begrüssung leider nichts mehr zu spüren: Die junge Dame unterhielt sich mit einer Mitarbeiterin (inkl. Handy). Wir gaben den Schlüssel ab und dieser wurde ohne ein Wort der Verabschiedung einfach entgegen genommen. Das Highlight (im positiven Sinne) waren die Nordlichter, die in der Nacht sehr schön zu beobachten waren. Insgesamt kann ich das Hotel leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Hotel from the outside is modern but once you go in the room it was dirty. The mirror in the bathroom had a big scratch across the glass. The shower was extremely dirty and door knob always came off. The bed linens were stained and had hair everywhere. Some lamps on the rooms didn’t have light bulbs. Overall experience, my husband and I will not return.

This hotel is not worth the money. It looks good from the outside but the hotel is not constructed well - looks half finished - and worst of all, it is not well maintained / cleaned. 2 of the 3 rooms we booked had moldy bathrooms - one which smelled so bad we had to ask for a room change. Stay away if you have different options in the area. Not worth it!

This hotel is a trap. Lobby and restaurant look great, once you go through the corridor that takes you to the rooms... it transforms into an off brand motel kind of vibe type of place. Rooms are ok at best. Cables hanging from the night light, cables coming out of everywhere. Holes with plaster, etc. Bathroom is from 1999, looks yellowish and the shower is a folding shower with mold. Staff looked sad, it was clear they were not happy to be there and did not enjoy their job. I would not recommend this place.

This hotel was our least favorite one on our trip to Iceland. Beds were super uncomfortable, shower was small and rust stains everywhere. We felt like we were camping or staying in a trailer. The lobby area was nice and outside area was fun to explore....just wish the rooms were nicer. We would not return.

This hotel looks very nice from the photos, which is why we booked it! Unfortunately, the only thing nice about this hotel is the photos and buffet/restaurant rooms. The individual guest rooms need a LOT of work. Room 46 was where we stayed and the sheets were stained, there was hair in the blankets, and we woke up multiple times in the middle of the night feeling very itchy. There was questionable wiring from the television down to the electrical outlet and multiple holes all over the walls from where lamps and decor were hung and then moved. The room was also incredibly HOT, even with the thermostat turned off and the window open all night. DO NOT STAY IN SUMMER MONTHS!!!! There are no black out curtains just a roller shade which does not filter out all light. It was VERY bright. Beautiful views of the mossy lava fields surround the hotel but there is no privacy as people walk around and in front of the patios to each room. It is very noisy, too and the walls are very thin. You can hear your neighbors sneeze.

We stayed here as a convenient location on our ring road trip, the room was great and we had a lovely view onto the glacier. But the whole of the room's floor was all tile and not heated and the pasta choice in the restaurant was rather tasteless. And after expressing our real hope to see an aurora that night with cloudless skies predicted we were very disappointed that there was no alert system in place to notify travellers who requested it. We fell asleep soon after 10:00 but would have happily been awakened any time after to see the northern lights, only to find the next morning that they put on a display after 11:00 (even though the app we were using said best chance was at 3:00 so we had set our alarm for 3:00 only to see nothing). Breakfast was best we've had, with many options.

It was a great with the exception that the room was so very hot. We were there for two night and I believe it was hot because of the natural environment. The was no a/c. You could open a window but there wasn’t a screen to shield any insects from entering. Besides this, the hotel had an excellent dinner menu and breakfast was varied and delicious.

The hotel is super modern and nice, but the staff, made up mostly of imported (non-Icelandic), young labor left me wanting. We showed a little early and could not check in and then were denied a cup of coffee while we waited for rooms to be ready. We could see the coffee machine on the bar. Although the hotel was generally clean, one of our supposedly clean bath towels had a large brown smudge on it that we had to exchange. I hope it was just a previous guest's makeup. We ate dinner with another couple and the bartender refused to split the check and insisted we did that at checkout two days later. Luckily, the guy at the front desk was able to split the check after we made a fuss. Lastly, one of the waiters told us that Americans were super messy, referring to a tour group that was conferencing in the hotel. He may have been joking, or he may not like Americans. I would look for other options in the area before settling on this property.

ホテル周辺に明かりがないため部屋の窓やデッキからもオーロラがきれいに見えました。2時間おきにタイマーをセットしてオーロラがでていないかチェックしていましたが、お願いしておくとオーロラが出ると部屋に電話をしてくれる、というサービスがあります。チェックインの時に教えてもらいたかった。

Staff were rude and room was tiny and dirty. There was missing baseboard, pedals for the trash were broken and there was a good inch of dust/dirt on the exhaust fan in the bathroom. The room was ungodly humid and all of our clothing felt damp. Restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. When we checked out, the gentleman at the front desk argued with us that we needed to pay our dinner bill. We had to show him the receipt that we did. Turns out he wasn’t even looking at our room which we handed him the keys (labeled with the number) and told him twice what room number we were. When he realized we had paid and it was the wrong room he entered he didn’t offer an apology. He made us feel like a criminal for no reason. Wouldn’t recommend. It was also VERY expensive for the food we ordered. $102 for an app, 2 cheeseburgers and a kids meal.

Lovely stay, friendly and warm welcome with a free room upgrade. Clean, great views and home comforts like tea and coffee included. The room had a good balcony and view. Both dinner and breakfast was great. If we are ever return to Iceland we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

We stayed here as a convenient location on our ring road trip, the room was great and we had a lovely view onto the glacier. But the whole of the room's floor was all tile and not heated and the pasta choice in the restaurant was rather tasteless. And after expressing our real hope to see an aurora that night with cloudless skies predicted we were very disappointed that there was no alert system in place to notify travellers who requested it. We fell asleep soon after 10:00 but would have happily been awakened any time after to see the northern lights, only to find the next morning that they put on a display after 11:00 (even though the app we were using said best chance was at 3:00 so we had set our alarm for 3:00 only to see nothing). Breakfast was best we've had, with many options.

Very nice modern and clean hotel one hour south of the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. It is right off the main highway but away from the city, so great opportunity to see the Northern Lights and we were very grateful to see them during our stay.

Very clean property, a reasonable (and expected) amount of amenities, and friendly staff. There’s close to nothing to do or see in the immediate area, you’d need to drive at least 30 or more minutes. The grounds around the property are a lot of protected moss, so you’re not supposed to stay from the path, but there wasn’t a lot of visible path from what I saw. Also, walking back to a room from the outside, there are no visible numbers as to which room is yours. So make sure you find some marker to know before wandering.

Hotel was fine and restaurant food was good but very expensive. Staff don’t remember to credit our bill for the free drinks included in the rate although I asked them too. Beds were comfortable and shower had hot water which are most important things in a room.

We had a travel issue and could not stay at the hotel. I sent an email asking if they could transfer our reservation to a sister hotel, and they confirmed and took care of the transfer within an hour. We were so grateful and appreciated the pleasant staff. Next time I will stay here.
