Was a one night stopover. Very clean, we were able to have our laundry done and had a great breakfast

We liked this hotel very much and would give it an overall rating of 5 if only the parking situation was better. It's a 50-yard/meter walk from the parking lot to the lobby door, the only entrance to the building. This is fine when it's not raining but a bit miserable in heavy rain with a lot of luggage. A covered pull-through or better use of the side emergency only door would help a great deal. We noticed a number of travelers struggling with this. That said, the staff was AMAZING and very friendly/helpful. Dinner at the restaurant was very good.

Wonderful hotel. Very clean, comfortable, quiet with an excellent breakfast. The rooms are more spacious than the other hotels we stayed in and no noise at all. It was my splurge hotel in Iceland and it didn’t disappoint. Very nice lounge area on the second floor with a game room. We tried the Black Crust Pizza restaurant within walking distance and it was very good.

The parking lot is an absolute disaster, no lighting and little effort to maintain. When we arrived full of snow and never cleared, this snow then melted to flood the parking lot, as well as froze completely. Not to mention the fact that you have to walk about 200 meters to the front door (unavoidable). For the price of this hotel I expect better. Lacking in amenities and breakfast was ok….

A nice hotel in the center of Vik. Very convenient to many places. Room was small. Shower door design was not the best, leaked water onto the floor. Also, no pool, sauna or hot tubs like other hotels we stay at in Iceland.

Staff were amazing and woke those of us who wanted to wake up to see the northern lights!

Clean, in a good location walking distance to restaurants, a grocery store, and the black sand beach. The breakfast buffet is decent and the drinks at the bar are very nice. For the price, I would have expected more amenities seen at similarly priced hotels in Iceland such as a gym or sauna.

Staff was very nice. My teen loved the game room. Restaurant was excellent (and within Iceland's price range). Included breakfast is a nice touch.

Very modern and clean although a bit stark. Walkable to restaurants, shopping and sites in Vik. Breakfast was included but was not very good. The game room was a nice addition but I wish it opened before 4:00. Overall, it was probably the nicest place to stay in Vik which is a great base to explore the south coast of Iceland.

The hotel is well kept with a modern design. The staff was very helpful and the bar has great local options, like the Old Fashioned made with Aqua Vitae, a good twist for this classic.

Nice rooms, ours were overlooking the mountains, clean modern rooms. Good breakfast. Good overnight laundry service.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and pillow was amazing. Breakfast was fabulous. Good location as well.

Overall this is great hotel with good location and nice restaurant. Only one thing is water pressure in bathroom was quite low. (we stayed on 2nd floor).

The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to provide excellent service, making the experience even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet—there was a great variety to choose from, including eggs, yogurt, cereal, fresh fruits, juices, and good coffee. It was the perfect start to each day. After long days on the road, it was so nice to come back to such a comfortable and welcoming place. I would highly recommend Hotel Kría to anyone looking for a reliable and relaxing stay.

Very clean. Had a fridge and water pot. Nice bed and great breakfast. Highly recommended in the area.

Clean and easy check in. Great location.

Two staff members greeted us upon arrival and were very friendly. The hotel is modern and clean. Our room was a nice size with a convenient bench near the door and a compartment for stowing luggage. The mini fridge was a pleasant surprise. The bed was comfortable. The one drawback was no air conditioning (only heat) but that was easily solved by sleeping with the door open. I guess that says something about the safety as well since we felt OK doing so.

Second time here. Nice hotel with good food. Nice and clean, staff was friendly! My only negative would be that they didn’t have washcloths, but not a huge deal.

Modern, clean, comfortable hotel in the area. Easy access to the key destination in south. Staff at the reception and dining were very friendly. Amenities in the bathroom were not renewed for the multiple nights stay (maybe only on request basis), and complimentary tea bags and used cups were not replaced. The hotel is located conveniently in front of Route 1, so a little noisy during the day, but will be quiet in the evening.

This hotel has a stunning restaurant and breakfast room (it’s best feature) but there was not a lot of common area space to sit and read a book. Make sure you book a mountain view room or you might end up with a gas station and highway view like we got. If I had known this I would have paid for an upgrade. The bed was hard, the overall quality of the room was just average (cheap finishes) and you have to walk along way with your bags to get to reception. The staff were friendly and helpful, but overall this place is overpriced foe what you get.

The room was perfect and offered a stunning mountain view. It was a joy to wake up to each morning. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. Breakfast featured a wide variety of options to start the day, and the dining area was spacious and comfortable. I especially loved the hotel’s cozy, traditional Icelandic atmosphere. Its central location in the heart of Vík also made it incredibly convenient to explore everything nearby. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely be staying at Hotel Kria.

Beautiful & clean. Rooms just too hot

This is a very cool hotel. I was on the 1st floor and the noise above me was noticeable while I tried to sleep. Also, the bed was very firm and not comfortable. The design of the hotel is super chic and doors to the outside were a nice feature. Having chairs out there would be an added bonus! Dinner was excellent.

The hotel is located in Vik (a town in southern Iceland) and in between the Black sand beach and the Diamonds beach and as such its location is very convenient and popular. Room was clean and nice we were upgraded to a VIP room (thank you Expedia). If you are planning on staying there, ask for a room with a mountain view (our room had an highway view which was noisy). We had dinner at the hotel - Great dinner with good service. Hihly recommended!

Stay was fine but room was extremely hot. Found out there was no AC.

Quiet, clean room with balcony and views towards the sea (although not the best view with fuel station between the hotel and the sea) and good breakfast.

Hotel room was compact but perfectly sized for two adults and luggage. Room was clean and comfortable. It had all the necessities required. We had a mountain view which was beautiful and worth it.

The room was quite warm, and only way to cool it was to open a door out to the main road, which isn’t a way I can sleep firstly. Secondly, the road noise was really loud until after 10pm. The dune buggies roaring around the beach was awful. They ran out of fans to hand out. The noises aren’t the hotel’s fault. But I would not stay on the road side of this hotel for any reason again. The “soundproofing” is not sufficient to drown out the noise at all.

Wonderful stay! Great front desk customer service, good drinks at the bar, and an awesome breakfast included with our stay. You can walk to the beach, restaurants, and stores. There's even a northern lights wake-up call. 100% recommend!

Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, fantastic location. We had an early start in the morning and they prepared a fresh bag of food for us to take. They also have a Northern Lights wake up call that we got to experience, with great views right outside the hotel. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!

We rented an apartment in Reykjavík but decided to spend one night somewhere near Vik. After much research, we ended up booking at Hotel Kria. The staff communication is excellent. One of the best communication I have had from hotel staff anywhere! The location is right along the ring road so very convenient for a stop or base for day travel. The hotel is quite modern and ‘hip’ with an excellent breakfast buffet. My adult daughter has life threatening food allergies which have been a bit challenging in Iceland but the woman working the buffet was so helpful and offered to get my daughter jam that wasn’t near the peanut butter or Nutella. That made my daughter's day because she hasn’t felt like many take her allergies seriously. Wish I got this woman’s name. Dark hair with glasses probably early 20s. The room for three people was fairly cozy. They put a cot in the room. We were on the second floor and the floors sounded very thin so it may have been loud downstairs. The hote has 24/7 reception and a bar and restaurant which is very nice. There is also a nice sitting area on the second floor where guests can hang out. And a game room with billiards, ping pong and possibly other stuff. It was busy in there so we didn’t go in. The only complaint we three all has was that the beds are really firm/hard and we woke up feeling very stiff. Our apartment beds are similar but not quite as firm. Might be an Icelandic thing to sleep on super firm beds so not counting that against them.

My VIP status wasn’t recognized Our room facing the road was very noisy. Small bathroom, shower door keep hitting the toilet. Phone to front not working.

We were only there for the night. Hotel is very nice. Up to date and modern. Check in was easy and help was pleasant and helpful. Room was well appointed and clean. Wish we would have had a room on the backside of the hotel but not a big issue. My biggest issue with the hotel is the location of the entrance and parking lot. It’s not labeled well to know that you can park close the entrance to check in and drop off your luggage. It was raining/windy when we checked in. Lugging your luggage across the parking lot to the entrance…ugh. You can’t tell that you could park up front by check-in. I suggest some signage to let guest know. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect location to check out all that the southern coast of Iceland has to offer! We made Hotel Kira our home base for 3 nights. Beautiful scenery right outside our patio, breakfast was filling and enough variety to enjoy 3 days in a row. Restaurants in town are great too and the path in and around the town made for great walks and views. Staff was friendly and helpful! parking was onsite and easy! Highly recommend!

Front desk staff was friendly and welcoming. Convenient location, easy parking and nearby dining options. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious. Hotel is clean and there is a gas station across the road which was helpful since we headed off early the next day. There is a cliff/mountain with birds nesting on it and Black Sand Beach is close by. Skool Beans Cafe is nearby and worth a visit for coffee. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The location is stunning! Everything around the town is within walking distance, which is very convenient. The room looked new and fresh. The only odd thing is that the staff would clear up the breakfast buffet before 10am. We got there at 09:30 and had to quickly get all food in one go as the staff had already begun clearing up the buffet. By 09:45 there was no food left and the staff were standing by the restaurant entrance waiting for us to leave.

Hotel Kria is centrally located. The checkin was quick. There is lots of parking. The room was comfortable. The breki was very good.

The facility was very good, clean, well maintained, and with well-trained staff. However, the food could definitely be improved. The soup and bread were enjoyable, but the lamb, which is meant to be one of the island’s specialties, was unfortunately quite tasteless and lacked flavor. Breakfast could also be better organized, none of the items were labeled, so it was unclear what you were eating. This could be problematic for guests with food allergies or intolerances, as there was no indication of ingredients or allergens.

Breakfast menu was small, dinner menu was expensive but room and hotel was very nice. I would definitely stay here again.
