Nice big room with nice additional seating. Huge updated bath. Also the facility was meticulously maintained outside creating a nice welcoming appearance. Friendly staff and a large, clean breakfast area.

Well, at least there was bar soap for the shower. That’s about where the positives stop. We wandered around the room a bit to find light switches only to find there were none. Just lamps that had to be individually turned on. A couple of which didn’t work. The room was large, but about a third of the space was completely empty. Just floor. No furniture. No decorations. Just….an aerobics area? Not sure. Stuff was broken all over. The fridge door had been yanked so hard it didn’t close properly and was uneven and it was barely cooler than room temperature. There was some sort of metal skirt around the bed that was about 1/4” too long, so when you put weight on the bed it puckered out making a thunderous noise. That was a fun way to wake up every time you rolled over in the night. The hair dryer was operable but broken. The shower curtain rod had been pulled down so it sloped down in the middle and the curtain kept sliding to the middle of the bar, opening up both sides of the shower while using it. Normally you’d be able to hook the grommets onto the set screws on each end except their “handy man” had installed it backwards so the screws hung down instead of up. The shower made an ear-piercing squeal while the water was running. The bathroom was horribly laid out. The commode was only a couple inches from the door and you had to have the door closed when you were on the toilet. The toilet paper was hung behind the toilet so you had to be a contortionist to use it. Just awful.

We have stayed here before and like the hotels overall proximity to the highway, and Cracker Barrel next door, but our room was in serious need of a little maintenance. Half the electrical and USB outlets had tape covering them, which presumes they are not functional. Was challenging to find plugs to charge all those things we seem to bring that need charging. Bob at the front desk was great and friendly during check-in. Finally, though the breakfast is free, we got down there 40 minutes before closing and the bacon, eggs and biscuit gravy was empty. When pointing this out to the attendant she just pointed to her cell phone clock, which I guess meant it was too late to restock anything. And then precisely at 9:00 while we were enjoying our juice, yogurt and bagel, she comes up to our table and shows us her cell phone clock with 9:00 on it indicating it was closing hour and time for us to leave. Like say, it's a free meal but can't say I've ever experienced anything like this before.
