The pros: The staff was amazing…very pleasant and eager to help. The restaurant staff especially was great (Jelsin E.) Also, our room was clean (although small) and the reception area clean and well maintained. The cons: The pool areas were not maintained or cleaned often. Chairs broken and dirty, cement crumbling, and the area around the large pool it’s not very nice with sparse grass and plastic chairs. Makes the hotel look cheap. The food also was not very good. It was mostly tasteless and some was cold. The snack bar food was absolutely awful. Drinks were watered down. Hotel is understaffed and we had to wait in line at reception every day for bottled water and beach towels. There was no no one on site to help with excursions The main thing that needs MAJOR improvement is the food.

Pros: all-inclusive, they serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in between. Drinks are tasty. Right on the beach. We felt safe- there was security at both entrances. Cons: staff speaks poor english. The music is very loud and does not stop until midnight every day. The floors are very slippery throughout the property.

The hotel is close to the beach and to the Jaco main street. Our room was clean and it was ready early, which we appreciated. The check-in process took a long time because there was only one employee, and the key cards kept getting demagnetized no matter how hard we tried to keep them far from our phones so we had to go back to the check in counter quite a few times. Be aware that there is no à la carte restaurant and that the buffet is very limited and doesn’t vary much. They block access to the pools outside of opening hours (8 am to 8 pm) which considerably limits your ability to walk on the resort. Overall ok, but not a place I would go back to.

It's a cheap resort. You get what you pay for and personally we decided we will never be going to a Best Western again even if it has the best priced option. While we figured it would not quite be as luxurious as other all-inclusives, we were not prepared for exactly how poor quality of an experience it would be. VERY little is included in this "all inclusive". Rooms were clean but very minimal, rock hard beds that gave us back pain, no comforter on bed, just a single sheet and throw blanket folded on a shelf. One very basic painting as well so overall, the room had more of the vibe of a hospital than a resort. The beaches and pool were lovely, great views, again clean but there was a strict towel limit, no umbrellas or cabanas, not enough beach chairs and the few chairs provided were basic plastic, no cushioning. There were excursions and laundry services advertised but they cost money which is quite frustrating at a self-proclaimed "all-inclusive". The snack bar and alcohol were all very cheap and simple foods, the cocktails weren't bad but weren't great either. There is also no choice of restaurants for meals, just one buffet and the food was horrible, mass-produced, most of it probably frozen, all very dry and very little flavor. Keys also frequently deactivated which was frustrating. We saved money but would never come back and wish we had paid more for a better experience at a different resort. Very dissatisfied.

If you want to make your friends back home jealous with killer views and do it on a BUDGET, Best Western Jaco is the perfect place! The grounds are immaculate- palms and that postcard perfect beachfront setup. Let's talk about some MVPs here: Aaron, Bryan, and Francisco at the bars. Quick, friendly, and mixology specialists who have a very heavy hand if you ask nicely. That said, I do wish the drink menu had a bit more flair. Espresso martini, anyone? The service overall was fantastic especially in the food & beverage areas. One nice perk of this property was the live music at night, several nights of our trip were done by local performers. A nice, authentic touch! The rooms? they suck. DATED. Beds are rock-hard, walls are thin- you can easily hear loud music all day and until about 12 am. You're NOT coming here for luxury or a plush sleep- you're here for the beach and a strong drink to forget the bed. The food was very hit or miss. Some days we were vibing with the fried yucca, plantos maduros (scrumptious), juices and fruits, and chilled wine. Other days it felt like they couldn't get enough chicken, bland and so overused. The snack bar gave off "school lunch line" vibes- perfect for kids but you'd have to be very intoxicated to eat there. If you're American and emotionally attached to bacon or conditioner for your hair- pack your own. Both of which would improve the experience. Pro tip: the beach-facing pool at the far end of the resort is the ultimate chill zone

My room had a strong odor. I requested housekeeping and they assisted me immediately. They cleaned the bathroom and poured something down the shower and sink drain. However, the odor came back the next day. Also, they don’t provide wash rags.

La limpieza general del hotel es insuficiente. El bar cerca de la piscina olía a cantina. Las mesas del restraurante y las sillas de niños muy sucias con costras de suciedad. My room lacked a bath towel when I checked in. Tried calling with the room phone but no ring tone. Made a trip downstairs to front desk and they told me the phones in entire hotel rooms were not working. They said I would need to come down if I needed something. Room side table was sticky (not cleaned well). The shower knob was flimsy and slow to provide cold water.

This hotel needs some serious updating. Our first night in the room was rough; unable to adjust the temperature in the room, it was very hot. We also had a leak in the bathroom and no one came to check it out. The beds were also uncomfortable; rock hard mattresses. We requested a different room the next day which was cleaner and everything was working fine. Front desk staff wasn’t very friendly or helpful. The cleaning staff was very nice. The food wasn’t bad, only thing we didn’t have issues with.

It was so loud and the music played until 1am. There was no sound-proofing to escape it. The birds wake you up at 5am as well, so you get very little sleep. The rooms were shabby and the facilities were not nice, and didn't function well. No mini fridge in the room to keep drinks cold and not many places available to just hang out out of the heat.

The snack bar and alcohol were all very cheap and simple foods, the cocktails weren't bad but weren't great either. There is also no choice of restaurants for meals, just one buffet and the food was horrible, mass-produced, most of it probably frozen, all very dry and very little flavor. Keys also frequently deactivated which was frustrating. We saved money but would never come back and wish we had paid more for a better experience at a different resort. Very dissatisfied.

We got on at 8 pm the room smelled like mold there was no hot water didn’t have enough towel! When we asked to be moved the trainee Edgardo said because we booked through Expedia he couldn’t upgrade our room’ He did try calling and sending emails to management but they Never responded! I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS BEST WESTERN IF YOU BOOK IT THROUGH EXPEDIA THEY GIVE YOU POOR CUSTOMER SO’

Thank you very much to Edgardo for accommodating my room request. The room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the pools, buffet for meals, the hotel atmosphere, and the staff who were friendly, flexible, and warm. I would highly recommend Best Western if you are staying in Jaco.

To start out vacation, we showed up 2 hours early to check in. They charge me an extra $80 dollars and then my room key didn't work. Horrible staff, no service at the restaurant and the bar. I will not recommend this place its rundown dirty and understaff

The pros: The staff was amazing…very pleasant and eager to help. The restaurant staff especially was great (Jelsin E.) Also, our room was clean (although small) and the reception area clean and well maintained. The cons: The pool areas were not maintained or cleaned often. Chairs broken and dirty, cement crumbling, and the area around the large pool it’s not very nice with sparse grass and plastic chairs. Makes the hotel look cheap. The food also was not very good. It was mostly tasteless and some was cold. The snack bar food was absolutely awful. Drinks were watered down. Hotel is understaffed and we had to wait in line at reception every day for bottled water and beach towels. There was no no one on site to help with excursions The main thing that needs MAJOR improvement is the food.

We are so happy we chose this hotel for our vacation. Having all-inclusive makes everything else so much easier to do like day tours, beach time, pool time etc. The only thing we marked 4 stars instead of 4 is related to how the housekeeping doesn’t refresh towels and how you have to go to the front desk to request them and other items like bottled water (only two regular sized bottles at a time) soap. Despite this minor issue we were so happy with our stay here and hope to return!

The entire team provided very kind service. The location is wonderful, with an incredible view of the beach and the sunset. The facilities are cozy and very clean. I will definitely come back more often and have already recommended it to my Brazilian family and friends. Highly recommended!

Exceptionally friendly staff. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. This All inclusive Resort is worth stay at for your stay in Jaco. Excellent food - buffet style for breakfast, Lunch & dinner. There is a separate area for snack/ late night food.

Pros and cons! The room was not ready at check in time, though not too long of a wait. Room keys did not work at first resulting in more walking & waiting. The room was mostly clean, though wet stained sheets needed to be changed, and a non secure wall / door was slightly unnerving (the whole glass wall where the door latches was not fastened to the ground, and easily moved - many rooms looked like this). The grounds felt somewhat neglected, and pools not super clean. The staff were friendly, and the buffet was good. We ended up leaving a day early as staying longer felt like a wasted day on our trip to Costa Rica. The value was decent when compared to other options in Jaco, but compared to many other areas we visited on our trip, this was money not well spent!

If you want to make your friends back home jealous with killer views and do it on a BUDGET, Best Western Jaco is the perfect place! The grounds are immaculate- palms and that postcard perfect beachfront setup. Let's talk about some MVPs here: Aaron, Bryan, and Francisco at the bars. Quick, friendly, and mixology specialists who have a very heavy hand if you ask nicely. That said, I do wish the drink menu had a bit more flair. Espresso martini, anyone? The service overall was fantastic especially in the food & beverage areas. One nice perk of this property was the live music at night, several nights of our trip were done by local performers. A nice, authentic touch! The rooms? they suck. DATED. Beds are rock-hard, walls are thin- you can easily hear loud music all day and until about 12 am. You're NOT coming here for luxury or a plush sleep- you're here for the beach and a strong drink to forget the bed. The food was very hit or miss. Some days we were vibing with the fried yucca, plantos maduros (scrumptious), juices and fruits, and chilled wine. Other days it felt like they couldn't get enough chicken, bland and so overused. The snack bar gave off "school lunch line" vibes- perfect for kids but you'd have to be very intoxicated to eat there. If you're American and emotionally attached to bacon or conditioner for your hair- pack your own. Both of which would improve the experience. When we arrived to our room the air conditioner did not work. They did not have a room for us that was similar to what we needed. They have not refunded us our money because we then had to go find another hotel that night. We have been calling the resort and the employees keep hanging up on us. If you want good customer service do not come here.

Very nice place. Felt like there could have been more of a variety with the food, but the drinks were good. We were also limited on the number of pool towels we could use, couldn’t have more without returning our old ones and room service took ours before we left so we didn’t have any towels the last day. Overall very nice place for the price and great staff.

We had a great time staying at the resort for 4 nights! Being within walking distance from the beach and from most shopping on Pastor Diaz Ave was ideal. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good, and we definitely enjoyed how they did a different theme every night. Having Alsama Tours on-site to coordinate activities was great as well. Thank you!

Best Western Jaco All-inclusive is consistent. Convenient, easy access to many sights. Ive stayed here many, many times unfortunately, this time the food was below average, lacked the usual variety and quality of previous stays. I was also promised rewards points by the management team and, as of this writing, no points have been posted to my account. Hopefully, they will correct the situation given I'm a Diamond Rewards Member who can take business elsewhere

La comida estuvo bastante deficiente el primer día, pocas opciones de proteína y todas con salsa picante, al igual que los frijoles, eran picantes. La pasta en salsa blanca y tenemos alérgicos a la leche en la familia, de manera que no había casi opciones para ellos. Hice la indicación y me dijeron que eso era lo que había. This property is very generous with their check out time. They allowed us to check out at the appropriate time and also allowed us to stay at the property for lunch and use their amenities until 3pm. The food and drinks options were different every day and they tasted so good. When I visit Jaco again, I am definitely staying here.

Simply terrible, in terms of the room's condition. We spent three nights there. On the second night, we started noticing that the ceiling was wet, yes, wet, and water droplets were falling all over the room. We reported it on Sunday and were told that the air conditioning in the room above was blasting, which caused condensation in our room. We requested a room change, as my daughter has asthma.
