You have an expectation with Motel 6. This property exceeded our expectations! It was clean, in a nice area, and the staff were incredible. Out of all our experiences with the staff at restaurants and shops in the Mammoth Lakes area, the staff at this hotel were, by far, the friendliest and most helpful. The only two things that Took the hotel down to 4 stars instead of 5, was that the pool is no longer there and the rooms are TINY.

I like everything about this Motel 6 except for WiFi. It either wasn't working or my room was so far from the router/antenna/signal extender that no webpage would load. I ended up using my mobile hotspot for internet. I like how dog friendly this Motel 6 is. The rooms are comfortable and the lighting is good.

We arrived late and were traveling with 2 dogs. Room was ready and staff was pleasant. We appreciate that Motel 6 is pet friendly and does not charge a ‘fee’ for pets!

No fridge, no microwave, no ice. Extremely small room. Slow wifi. Laundry was available but very dirty (washer full of toilet paper) and frustrating to work using the app. Near to a lot of restaurants and bars, good coffee shops, etc.

Very small rooms; however, clean. We had 2 double beds with a very small space separating them. All the furniture was dated and well-worn. Parking is free; however, the spots right in front of the rooms fill up quickly.

Guest literally ran up and down metal stairs and walkways until 1:30 am. No security or intervention from staff. Rooms were clean at check in but not again during stay. No fresh towels provided on second night. Water temperature in shower was warm, no hot water. I’m going to shop around in Mammoth for future stays to find comprable rates and better quality.!

The fridge would freeze everything, no matter the temperature setting. I stayed five nights, and they never came to make up the room, take the garbage, etc. One bar of soap between the sink, and shower (not that there was anyplace to put a bar of soap in the shower). They provided two things of conditioner, but no shampoo. The bathroom consisted of a sink, toilet, shower curtain, and shower head. There was no bathtub, place to put shampoo / soap, or place to put toiletries. The shower was disgusting, with orange gunk on the walls. It had obviously not been cleaned in quite a while. I wish I’d thought to have brought flip flops to wear in the shower. It smelled like pot when I turned on the (air) heat. I stayed in a “Premium Room” here, I can’t imagine what the other rooms are like.

Housekeeping didn’t happen during our two night stay. Rooms had no carpeting which is a huge plus. Problem was that there were no spaces for clothes except for a wall hook with about 8 hangers. No drawers. There wasn’t a toilet lid so even in the bathroom there was no place to set clothes. No breakfast but coffee was in the office.

The location is great, but the property and rooms don't match the resort-level pricing. We were not informed upon checkin that daily housekeeping needs to be requested. That is an outdated COVID practice that has been largely discontinued in the industry, especially when charging over $200/night. We won't stay here again unless pricing reduces or there are significant upgrades worthy of the cost.

BED BUGS! DO NOT STAY HERE! The room I stayed in had bed bugs, which I did not know until my last morning. I woke up covered in red bug bites in a zig zag pattern and saw a bed bug crawling next to my pillow when I turned the lights on. The past two days since leaving, I have been experiencing severe discomfort and the bites continue to worsen. The staff denied that there are bed bugs and will not refund my stay nor hire an exterminator to evaluate the room for bed bugs. They claim that the on-site staff is aware of what they look like and how to find them and that they didn’t see any. The manager of the property, Gabriel, noted that there were bugs in the room but that they are not bed bugs… This is unacceptable in so many ways and they have made no effort to resolve the situation.

Very very clean room. Super clean bathroom and shower. For a motel, it's great. No frills but CLEAN. Comfortable bed and pillows. Microwave in lobby. Ski rental place across the street. Bus stop right out front. Only 3 minutes drive to the village. I would stay here again.

Unfortunately, the stay was an uncomfortable experience. The bathroom fan came on each time you turned on the bathroom light, and it screeched so loudly, so if you used the bathroom in the middle of the night, it woke up the room. Also, there was water damage on the ceiling AND leakage from the top room floor that dripped water in the room near where we stored our luggage.The beds were also very uncomfortable, you could feel the springs dig in if you are a side sleeper. Cleanliness was just okay...i could see stains on the top bedding which i was not happy about.I threw them to the ground and used our sleeping bags instead.

Mammoth Lakes is awesome. This Motel 6 is luckily right in the middle of it. The only problems I encountered were: 1. smokers hanging out and smoking in their doorways and around the building. The rule says they are supposed to smoke 20 ft away from the building… they definitely didn’t follow that rule, nor was it being enforced when I was here. 2. Creaky ceiling / cheaply built old building well means you will hear every little footstep from the second floor on the first floor rooms very loudly. Other than those things, quite a nice Motel 6 here!

Motel 6 ran out of gas the first night we were there. We had no heat and no hot water the entire time. We would like full credit for the stay. They first told us that they were going to get the gas filled and the water heater and heat would start working again and then the next day told us it would not happen until after we left. This was a terrible experience.

I've been to many other 6's ...this particular motel 6 has the smallest rooms I've seen. Realizing not much can be done about construction at this point....I'm just saying I was a bit cramped trying to put suitcases, cooler and all other travel amenities in a place so that you don't trip over it in the night is difficult. I've seen broom closets bigger.

I specifically booked this room because it stated on every site that I looked at that the rooms had air conditioning. I can only sleep in cool rooms. After speaking with the staff, i was informed that only heat would be coming out of the vents because the outside air was below 55 degrees. That may be, but the room was definitely warmer than 55 degrees and would go higher if i kept it on. I would suggest that the property invest in HVAC units that could actually provide heat or air at any time of year, since that is what you actually tell readers that you have. Lastly, the linens smell like they have been washed in rancid cooking oil. It's a distinct smell and was triggering headaches Staff was pleasant and helpful even though I got no sleep

Wonderful and hilarious staff, they were always very helpful. The room was a bit of a tight squeeze, there’s no closet and the fridge and microwave looked extremely out of place. The beds were also extremely uncomfortable and lumpy.

The two doubles were clean and the shower was fine. The walls were paper thin and you could hear every word from your neighbor. We brought ear plugs so it was not to bad after that. Porsche at the desk was great and gave us a nice location. There were signs for people not to back in their cars, but it was not enforced. Fumes from a diesel truck came into our room the first morning. I ask for a late checkout the next morning for the inconvenience, But the front desk gave the cleaners the wrong room. They did let us in so we could change, but not shower after skiing. Late checkout was 1:30 , but the had no late checkout for later. Even if I paid for it.

Always stay here a night or two after camping for hot shower and a good night’s sleep before heading home. Rooms have always been clean. I appreciate the dog friendliness of all Motel 6! Only minor gripe would be this last time the front desk employee seemed very annoyed to have to do their job during check in.

Terrible Front Desk Experience – Needs Serious Improvement I recently stayed at Motel 6 and had one of the worst front desk experiences I’ve ever encountered. We had booked three rooms, paid in advance, but when we arrived, the system only showed two. Instead of calmly helping to figure out the issue, the front desk girl — we believe her name was Britney, a young woman with purple hair and a bear — became loud, flustered, and downright rude. She clearly didn’t know how to handle the situation and, to make things worse, when more guests arrived, she asked us to step aside so she could help others even though we were there first! We watched her help four other guests before I had to insist that she return to fixing our issue, which was entirely the motel’s fault, not ours. It was obvious she was overwhelmed and shaking behind the desk, not knowing what to do. Frankly, Motel 6 management needs to retrain Britney and provide extra support at the front desk. No guest should be treated rudely or made to wait while staff fumble through basic booking problems. I expected a budget hotel, but I didn’t expect budget service this bad.

We had problems with our door, too drafty and allowing the smoke from our neighbors to come into the room. Check-in was unpleasant. Borrowing a shovel was unpleasant. Both because the front desk clerk was unhelpful. But then the manager and another staff member were helpful

Very rude young lady in the office when we arrived at 2 PMB. She told check was at 3 and our room was not ready. Waited til 3. Our room still isnt ready. Watched from parking lot as the lady housekeeper completed our room. Back to office. Was curtly told we could not check in until supervisor signs off. Wound up having to take a room way the other side of the onky place we could park our RV. REALLY poor attitude on the part of the lady that checked us in.

The front desk staff was excellent! Very helpful on getting me into a perfect room for my needs. My dog and I had a great stay in mammoth. The bottom floor with an area of roomy parking and an area to walk him was superb. Thank you!

Location was perfect close to the mountain and dinning. However, the rooms are dirty and cold. Hair on my bed from the previous guest and sheets appeared dirty. I slept in my jacket and snow pants.

Very basic but good! Clean room, good size but reminds me of a dorm room. White walls, not a single picture on the walls. Bed was firm, which I liked but the pillows were too soft and uncomfortable. Bring your own pillow! No coffee in the room, no blow dryer. Perfect for 1 night. Staff was very helpful and friendly. There was free coffee in the lobby in the morning which was nice.

For a low-budget lodging option on my first ever solo trip, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Adequate parking, super fast and easy check-in/check-out, close to some good restaurants, bars, and shops. Perfect for a town like Mammoth Lakes, where you would mainly need a home base to return to after exploring all day. Will probably stay here again.

It's a Motel 6. You know what you are getting. The people that work here are nice. The bare bones room doesn't have a coffee maker or frig. For about $10 more you get both. Coffee in the main office. Restaurants across the street, walking distance.
