I requested a quiet room and was given one that was amazingly quiet, even with a full hotel. The room was spacious and the pillows were wonderful.

Stacy, I believe was her name, the manager who checked us in and gave us an upgrade, was wonderful.

At check out there was a 500 dollar charge to my room because the day prior their “rest sensory system detected a change in air quality consistent with a combustible smoking event in room”. This is the hotels way of detecting someone smoking in the room. I do not smoke and never have smoked so this was clear to me a false positive test. Alexis the manager assured me at checkout that they would fix it but the computers were down. I asked if we could go to my room so I could show them there was no evidence of smoking. They assured me it wasn’t necessary. They would call me later once they actually had the report. My mistake for believing them and checking out. However in my naïve mind I wasn’t smoking so it must be a mistake and they will fix it. The tone changed later. They avoided my calls. They later emailed me a report stating they would not reverse the charge and I could dispute it with my credit card but they would send my bank the same report. Lee the manager never answered my calls but was happy to send an email to again say they would not reverse the charge. Cooperate Marriott was not helpful either. This is such a scam. If the alarm was tripped the day before someone should physically come to the room at the time to inspect. They did not. There are several items- aerosols, steam from the shower, even a hair dryer that can trip these sensors. The charge is for cleaning and there is no report of any extra cleaning that had to be done after check out. Total scam.
