Very old hotel with bags of character. Unfortunately rooms both public and bedrooms were not as warm as we expected. The Spa was not of service accept for the pool. Again the pool was far too cold and the steam room also chilly there was no jacuzzi, therefore only the sauna was acceptable hot. Unfortunate.

This was a business stay. I prefer alternative or independent hotels with character and this pne met that criteria. I booked however based on the fact it advertised having a gym. The staff, after asking twice, informed it was closed for the foreseeable future. That was disappointing and if it is closed they should update what they advertise

We really enjoyed the fabulous building and grounds, the freshly-cooked cooked breakfast options with excellent coffee, the helpful staff, the room toiletries and tea/coffee and bottled water, the soft bed linens, the quiet rooms. The restaurant lacks a little atmosphere as it has been updated in a style that doesn’t quite match the building, in my view. Add some antique weapons on the walls, maybe? 😉 The swimming pool was a little chilly for leisure but fine for swimming - we assume they are saving energy. Steam room was nice. Overall a lovely stay in a unique hotel with beautiful Tudor features.

A 2 night family trip would have been perfect if not for being disturbed in the mornings at 07:25(Friday morning) & 08:10 (Saturday am). When checking in, the hotel did offer us another room, however the room was over 2 floors and travelling with a 2 year old without a stair gate we unfortunately couldn’t accept it. Wardrobes from the room above, left outside our room entrance. Breakfast was brilliant. The pool and spa are also amazing. Staff across the hotel were all very welcoming and friendly.

The hotel was lovely old and lots of charm room was decent size and nice and clean and the food was very nice in fact my only disapointment is the the spa and pool clos at 6.00 and dont open till 10.00 and as this was the main reason for picking the hotel (i like to havea swim after a lot of driving) I was disapointed and I think it should give opening times on the App but apart from that it was good

We wanted a swim when we arrived but were told we would have to book. We didn’t know this and found it strange. The receptionist said we would have been told. We only wanted a swim. Breakfast was lovely and very relaxing. The bed was uncomfortable and we couldn’t open the windows as the noise was too much.

Historic hotel with some modern attributes. The room (6) was spacious with a good king size bed, but was directly over the kitchens and, with the windows open during summer, there was a fair amount of noise. Since it was a weekend, there were weddings on so the catering staff were working late. The following morning after breakfast we did find the toilets downstairs had been left in a pretty filthy state by the wedding guests, so the cleaners had not yet started their work. The staff were all really helpful and considerate. The food was well prepared and tasty. It was nice to wander around the lake in the grounds but we did find a smell of drains on the golf course side. It appeared this may be coming from the mobile buildings in the back car park. We asked about plugging our car in to the sockets near the front door for an overnight charge but we were told they couldn’t handle an electric car load. This is unlikely to be a problem. They did say there were plans to install car chargers.

Fabulous stay for three friends. The room was lovely and clean and the hotel staff were very nice. Breakfast was food but the evening food was incredible. The spa was fabulous and i had a wonderful facial Would highlt recommend

We live local to Woodbridge and made a decision to stay at Seckford Hall as we’d driven past it so many times in the past and wanted to support a local business. The building itself is stunning, friendly staff greated us and gave us our room keys. Then proceeded to show us to our room, not in the grand building but in a 1990’s annex in the car park. Disappointed doesn’t cover it! Once in damp and cold room we learned that the heating in the bathroom didn’t work. A quick call to reception was met by a disgruntled receptionist agreeing maintenance would take a look. Hours later and no one turned up. So we got ready for our evening meal in a damp cold bathroom. Sadly I’ve got nothing nice to say about the bathroom, it was dated, damaged, mouldy, damp, cold and inadequate for a hotel that cost £150 a night. The meal there was average to good. Service from the restaurant and bar staff was good. In handing back the keys to reception I was met by a flustered lady who took the keys off me without acknowledging me. When I complained about the room, she stated that someone should have fixed it.

The hotel was a lovely place to stay and so easy to get to as it is very close to the A12 but feels miles from anywhere. The room we had was very comfortable and clean, a huge bed and walk-in shower. It was very hot whilst we were there and a fan was provided but could have benefited from having a fridge. The food was very well presented but some dishes were strange, e.g. scallops with an apple sorbet which really didn't go well together.

The building is very old and quirky. Uneven floors lots of dark wood which makes most of the reception rooms dark. Mould in the bathroom which was disappointing as the rest of the bathroom was lovely. We noticed we had no BBC 1 channel on Monday and informed the front desk we wanted to watch euro football game on Tuesday . The television was not fixed and there were no television screens in the hotel so we had to watch it on my husbands kindle. ( no apology on our checkout ) Breakfast is lovely but very slow in delivery. We only eat dinner once as it was expensive and poor selection of meals.

We treated ourselves to one night here after an exciting day visiting Sutton Hoo. Wish we had been able to stay longer! We were greeted warmly and taken to the bar to order drinks and a small snack around 5 pm which was served to us in the garden. The guest room and bathroom were clean and of good quality. Dinner at 8 pm was extremely delicious and served with a smile. This property is a gem in the beautiful countryside and easy to get to despite quite heavy traffic in the surrounding area. Sadly we had to leave very early the next day so were unable to have breakfast.

Stayed several times before without issue. On this occasion there was a wedding and as such it was noisy well into the early morning. We were not part of the wedding party and our room overlooked the venue. There was no communication about this prior to arrival or when checking in. It would have changed our decision on staying for a relaxing evening and spa trip. Even if we were told prior to arrival and given a room away from the wedding would have made a difference. It was just down to the lack of communication, despite receiving several generic emails about our stay. Also despite selecting a superior double room, this felt tired and older than other rooms we have stayed in previously.

Good service lovely room good food However it is a wedding venue and the bar is open until 12pm, the noise was unbelievable and our expensive room was basically above the bar and next to the stairs, complained twice but nothing was done. Suggested customers were told when Weddingswere taking place so they are aware and they ask to stay far from bar and staircase. Its our second visit but told receptionist we wouldnt visit again, they just said fair enough???

We stayed for one night. The hotel looks impressive from the outside and is in the public areas. We booked last minute and stayed in a standard room which was comfortable but very beige with a pretty poor view. We visited the spa which once the redecoration is complete will be nice. Dinner was exceptional - food and service very good. Unfortunately breakfast was a disappointment in that we eventually ordered the full English. Although others around us got theirs, ours didn’t arrive and we were advised for some reason the order had not gone through. We decided to pass and just get our money back. All in all it’s a nice hotel, with nice staff but perhaps under staffed. We might go again not sure yet.

Unfortunately was overcharged and it took four days of phone calls to get refund even though hotel admitted fault. Bills sent by email, which I didn’t receive until after leaving. Would advise asking for printouts before leaving.

We spent one night here for a wedding anniversary celebration and very much enjoyed it. The building has plenty of character and pleasant grounds and our room, in the main building, was very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a good choice of cold and hot options cooked to order. The reception staff were welcoming and also very helpful in assisting our children to set up a surprise present for us.

The swimming pool was lovely although the water was too warm. The breakfast was delicious but felt rushed and didn't like to see other people having breakfast straight from the pool in flip flops and dressing gowns, bit odd, should have been told to get dressed first. The corner of my side of the duvet cover had holes in the material. We had an evening meal in the restaurant and the waitresses service was diabolical. Had to keep asking for dishes to be cleared and for them to take our order, was exceptionally slow. The food was lovely but way over priced and portion size very small. I left the table still hungry. Its a lovely hotel but don't judge a book by its cover.

Stayed at Seckford Hall for a Wedding. The house & grounds are beautiful & the rooms were comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly & the hotel being dog friendly was a massive plus. The only slight annoyance was the length of time it took to get breakfast, I had to wait over an hour. I understand this was probably due to the wedding but there should be enough staff to cope with demand. Apart from that I had a lovely stay.

A truly beautiful venue, in a glorious setting. My ground floor room was spacious and aesthetically pleasing apart from the shower which didn’t drain and lack of hot water even at no peak times. The reception team and restaurant staff were very customer focused and professional. Unfortunately the spa team (apart from Kieran) could do with an attitude adjustment. It’s clear there is tension amongst themselves which shouldn’t be obvious to clients.

We had problems finding it by satnav/post code, but it was well worth this frustration Lovely old buildings with lots of original features. Our room was fairly small, but very nice with a balcony overlooking the gardens and lake. Fortunately, from our point of view, no major events (eg. weddings) were being celebrated, so all was relatively peaceful. Having said this, I’m sure it would be perfect for weddings, etc.

On the morning of our stay date we received a phone call that the venue had been overbooked and we couldn't be accommodated. The staff offered us to stay and use the facilities while they looked for alternative accommodation or a cancellation, which they found a bit later. The staff were all very polite, the grounds were beautiful and the spa was very relaxing with excellent treatment staff.

We treated ourselves to one night here after an exciting day visiting Sutton Hoo. Wish we had been able to stay longer! We were greeted warmly and taken to the bar to order drinks and a small snack around 5 pm which was served to us in the garden. The guest room and bathroom were clean and of good quality. Dinner at 8 pm was extremely delicious and served with a smile. This property is a gem in the beautiful countryside and easy to get to despite quite heavy traffic in the surrounding area. Sadly we had to leave very early the next day so were unable to have breakfast.

Fantastic Staff, Reasonably priced food and drink both of which were great quality. Very easy to find with lots of parking. We will return, which is unusual for us as we like to try different places.

Lovely hotel - room was modern in an old country hall - breakfast was lovely quality although smashed avocado could have done with some fresh lime juice and Coriander - it felt like chunky avocado paste spread on toasted sourdough. Otherwise a lovely stay and pool was nice temperature. Would recommend. We went to the Unruly Pig to eat which is one of UK’s top Gastropods - about an 90min beautiful walk through Woodbridge and along estuary seawall from hotel - tasting menu amazing - then got a taxi back.

Historic hotel with some modern attributes. The room (6) was spacious with a good king size bed, but was directly over the kitchens and, with the windows open during summer, there was a fair amount of noise. Since it was a weekend, there were weddings on so the catering staff were working late. The following morning after breakfast we did find the toilets downstairs had been left in a pretty filthy state by the wedding guests, so the cleaners had not yet started their work. The staff were all really helpful and considerate. The food was well prepared and tasty. It was nice to wander around the lake in the grounds but we did find a smell of drains on the golf course side. It appeared this may be coming from the mobile buildings in the back car park. We asked about plugging our car in to the sockets near the front door for an overnight charge but we were told they couldn’t handle an electric car load. This is unlikely to be a problem. They did say there were plans to install car chargers.

The building is very old and quirky. Uneven floors lots of dark wood which makes most of the reception rooms dark. Mould in the bathroom which was disappointing as the rest of the bathroom was lovely. We noticed we had no BBC 1 channel on Monday and informed the front desk we wanted to watch euro football game on Tuesday . The television was not fixed and there were no television screens in the hotel so we had to watch it on my husbands kindle. ( no apology on our checkout ) Breakfast is lovely but very slow in delivery. We only eat dinner once as it was expensive and poor selection of meals.

Perhaps consider eventually replacing with a walk-in shower rather than a shower over the bath tub which is very dated. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Very willing to assist in any queries. Lovely dinner menu and very good choices on bar menu also. Food was excellent quality. Would highly recommend the steaks and we had the sharing sea food platter the next night. 5 stars! We absolutely loved our stay at Seckford Hall and can’t wait to return! Every member of staff were so warm and friendly, they treated not only us, but our dogs like royalty. 5 stars! We absolutely loved our stay at Seckford Hall and can’t wait to return! Every member of staff were so warm and friendly, they treated not only us, but our dogs like royalty.
