Location is great as it has shopping and restaurants in the area. Access to Ubers and Taxis. The staff are vert friendly and accessible. Please note the hotel does NOT have air conditioning. The bed mattresses were extremely hard, floor like hard. Also note there is a cathedral across the street and the bells sound frequently. The hotel did provide ear plugs.

The property does not have elevators, AC, and the beds were hard. The parking is about 10 min away from Hotel. Aside from that it is in a very central area. It is very nice.

Estuve durante Diciembre en este hotel y la verdad que esta bastante bien por la ubicación que te ofrecen. Lo malo es el estacionamiento, esta a 10min y hay que llevarlo y tomar un taxi de regreso (que no estuvo caro, fueron $80 pesos), pero si consideramos que asi es en la mayoria de los centros históricos pues no debería ser un motivo para dejar una mala reseña. La habitacion estuvo bastante bien, el hotel no cuenta con aire acondicionado, pero como fui en Diciembre no pase calor. Lo unico fue que la segunda noche, si hubo gente usando el comedor y como quedo exactamente enfrente de mi habitación, escuche ruido muy temprano de las personas que desayunaban. Ah! Y el wifi no me funcionaba mucho en mi habitación, pero tenia señal asi que podia usar mis datos sin problema. Me volveria a quedar por la ubicación excelente que te ofrecen por el precio, sales y estas frente a la "Basilica Colegiata de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato", es decir, ¡ en el mero centro a una cuadra del Teatro Juarez!

Staff was extremely friendly. Great location and I liked that it’s a smaller hotel. Cleanliness was not what I expected, we stayed at their sibling property last time and the cleanliness was top notch so that’s why we decided to try this one. There was hair on the bed and the sheets looked stained, the staff quickly resolved this issue but it raised concerns about how clean the whole place really was. Overall we were happy with our stay and will definitely stay again here.

In the dead center . Walking distance for food and churches . Beds are alittle hard but you’re too tired to notched . Clean place . Staff was friendly . There is not parking on site . Parking is a bit always . But still not bad . Balcony view was great .

Amazing location. Nice property. Spacious rooms. Restaurant. The only negatives are listed here: The wifi. It was horrible and did not work from the room most of the time. I could not work from here if I had to. Also the noise. It is an old building and the noise from other guests talking or going up the stairs was a lot. The free breakfast included only fruit, cereal, juice, and coffee. They did have other options (for a proper breakfast) available for a cost. That said, the staff was very nice amd helpful and the property has an amazing location.

Lo mejor del lugar es que es muy céntrico. Muy limpio el cuarto y con todas las comodidades básicas. El único punto en contra es que la habitación daba a la calle justo frente a la básilica, que puede sonar muy bonito pero era extremadamente ruidoso. No estaría mal invertir en ventanas aislantes al ruido.

Casa Virreyes has been or go to hotel for our visits to Guanajuato. It’s convenient to the downtown area and so walkable. I just recommend to have softer mattresses and newer towels. The mattress are hard to sleep on so you wake up with back pain for the first hours of your mornings.

Sadly, I will not be staying here again, nor will I be recommending to a friend. First and foremost, they downgraded our room from a street view king size bed to a no window no AC poorly ventilated to standard bed with no view. They blamed it on Expedia, saying that they were overbooked and did not have our room available. We did not get a price reduction on our room or an upgrade. Also power went out during our stay, and room was very suffocating given that there was only one window. That was very difficult to access. Breakfast was average only served fruit and granola and coffee. Lastly, service was terrible. Front desk needs training on customer service. They were very unfriendly and cold. There are plenty of other nice and clean hotels in the area, please avoid this one at all cost.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Guanajuato, impeccable service, clean rooms, great attention to detail, and very friendly staff who were always accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Guanajuato. Furthermore we were delighted with the breakfast.

Place is right across the basilica de Guanajuato and short walk to many restaurants, bars and stores, the front desk lady was very helpful with luggage and recommendations. The place itself was very clean, quiet and comfortable, had a simple but pleasant continental breakfast. Highly recommended.

First time visiting Guanajuato, we were supper excited to arrive and check into the hotel. The reception area was very dark the receptionist was not friendly or helpful at all. We traveled for a wedding and book a full week at this same location. Our stay started out pretty normal, the hotel seemed extremely noisy not sure if it was the room we had. We came across an incident at the hotel, we noticed out personal property was touched/moved. When I say touched/ moved money was taken and passports moved from their original place. We went downstairs to the reception and informed the receptionist… she used the smallest paper to write down the information. It took a few days for the hotel cleaning lady to knock on our door and ask what the issue was. She began by saying she had not taken anything somewhat defensive I was so confused I was waiting for the hotel management to address the issue not the cleaning lady knocking at my door. I felt so bad for her as she was trying to plead her case however; things were moved and money was most definitely taken. I wished I would had used the safe but I honestly didn’t think we had too. I would not return to this hotel front house staff was very unprofessional, poor management. I’m still shocked that management didn’t address this serious issue. We left the hotel with a very sour taste.

Tuvimos reserva para dos habitaciones, dos noches. Del 13 al 15 de agosto, al ingresar a la recepción llegamos y la recepcionista ni nos volteó a ver, desde su computadora solo dijo, “Si, que necesitan” le di mis datos para la reserva. Supongo que al ver que venía de Expedia intentó cambiar su actitud y ser más cordial. Trabajo en una cadena de hoteles a nivel internacional con base en Cancún y sé de servicio y atención al huésped, en definitiva ella no lo tenía.
