Motel 6-Ventura, CA - Beach

Pool looks good, but not heated. Beds were hard. Mostly clean. No microwave in room. Mostly safe, but was followed by homeless man (who i turned to and made eye contact with before he walked away). Wifi was good for working.

The pool location is not ideal. It's right next to the highway, rather exposed and windy.

I stay here every year for the ALC ride. It's convenient for the needs of the Riders, Roadies, and Staff. It's overall very clean, working showers with hot water, and has the amenities needed for the one night stay. They also have onsite guest laundry facility. Just make sure to bring your own coins for the machine. It's not the Marriott but it has the basic necessities for a comfortable stay and a good night's rest.

The pool is great

Our stay was good, Mario was great and helpful. Pool was nice. Good location super close to beach and restaurants.

The room was nice and I appreciated the mini fridge. It is a bare basic stay with a great location. Clean with very basic amenities. Best part was the ice machines in the lobby.

Parking was fine. A/C was a bit noisy

I liked that there was lighting everywhere so it was safe for take out my dog.

The room was clean. We liked the laminate (vs carpeting) floors. Missed having a microwave and coffeemaker, but there was coffee in the morning in the lobby and a microwave available 24 hours. Some of the other guests seemed unsavory. We were slightly worried about our car in the parking lot. Everything was fine - we were just being paranoid.

Room was clean, Definitely pet-friendly. Conveniently located to fast food, gas station and beach. Pool was nice and clean. If I had to complain of anything, was I tried to check-in early and only upstairs room available at the time. Decided to wait for a downstairs room and at 3 pm still had to wait for room.

The bathroom is had old paint peeling from shower and ants were visible inside room. This is not our first stay here. We came back after 6 years. The first time was great, this time not so much

Non smoking room smelled like smoke. Stains on bathroom wall and shower curtain looked like ketchup or dried blood. Not sure it gets cleaned properly.

Room had bed bugs

The sheets are dirty with bed bugs, traces of blood and hair, nasty

The floors were dirty the room smelled clean but it almost feels like they just sprayed Clorox or bleach in the sink and called it a day I step on the floor with socks and they were super dirty. The staff was nice but the cleaning was not up to par.

The room smelled like urine and was very dirty. Ask the girl working reception to help us and she gave short/disgruntled answers. She seemed happy to tell us that there were no other rooms available.

At least two types of roaches were very present in the room. The tiny stall showers are poorly designed and foster mold growth in crevices that can smell very oppressive. We’ve stayed in two different rooms here. Only one had roaches but the mold was very bad in both.

Upstairs air conditioning unit sounded like a truck running an engine all night. Ac in the room same problem. Motor extremely noisy. Upstairs sounded like furniture dropping and head banging a against the bed all night. 1am had people in the parking lot screaming out the name Wanda.

Standard Motel 6. Could use technology update for usb plugs and TVs. Shower in my particular room was a tiny corner shower.

If you need a not too pricey room it'll do the job. But the rooms are tiny and the shower even smaller! Pretty loud outside with people. But other than that. Ok stay.

Beds were very small. Supposed to be queens, but more the size of full mattresses. Hotel was very rundown and very sparse. Air conditioning unit didn't work very well and was very noisy. TVs were very small and had a lousy picture.

The girls at the checkin desk were awesome. The room is basic and dayed, but for $100 on the coast of California- ummm Yes Please.

Room smells really bad and the floor was not cleaned, air conditioner was very loud. Overall the it was not a good experience!

One night stay. Bed is low to the floor and the pillows suck!! Shower was weird and small. Heater was very loud and annoying. Would not stay again

Bed pillows were so uncomfortable. Like they were just lumpy old pillows. The bed comforter was basically a sheet. The main door and bathroom door were put on improperly. Very disappointed.

Stay was ok will not stay there again . Room is small the bed is hard back was hurting.Shower was excellent only thing i was happy to go into .

Air conditioner in the room noisy, it sounded like there was an airplane over head. Could not sleep while it's running had to turn off. Also the refrigerator was crackling and had to be unplugged. The room also smelled offul. As for the parking it was okay.

Very clean, remodeled nicely. Pleasant front desk, very helpful.

The staff was very pleasant and welcoming. They accommodated a couple requests we had gladly.

Cheery desk clerk who checked me in quickly, offered me bottled water and two power bars. She assured me that coffee would be available for my 4:30am departure.

Very helpful morning staff and the lad that checked me in …even though it was late he was super pleasant. There was one sour apple that went out of his way to put things off on the next person… but it’s great to know he doesn’t sour the bunch only helps them shine brighter.. Thanks!

My husband and son were traveling for an event, we booked the room the same as always and in advance because we knew the room rates would increase closer to the event, that they attend yearly. When he tried to check in, he was denied the reservation stating that it had to be in his own name and not mine, we have never had this issue anywhere, including at this same motel!!! I changed the booking into his name and they still refused to allow him access to the room, AFTER he had already paid. He showed them that the booking was in his own name that matched his government ID, they didn’t care. They said that the only way he could stay was to book another room at double the price. Everything in the area was sold out and they had no vehicle to try to drive around because they flew there. Long story short they conned us out of the money we already paid for the room and then charged double. They said that they would refund the first one, and they did not. Stay away from this place! And I hesitate to book through this booking site again because they refused to help me after the refused to allow him access to the room that he had just paid for. What a joke.

Front desk was very helpful in finding us a different room that was close to handicap parking!!! I am disabled and need a room with specific parking!! In addition, service with a smile when I need the keys to be reprogrammed!!

awesome stay i had to keep exstending my stay and they made it super easy for me

One of the employees, Jac, was very rude to my wife and I. An extra fee was added to our total cost. It was not present on the print out from Expedia and was not properly presented to us at check in. My wife was trying to get clarity and was met with disrespect from this person. The other employees were ok, but we got very bad vibes from Jac. There's another Motel 6 in town. That's the place to stay! First major complaint against Motel 6!

The room smelled DISGUSTING 😷. I did NOT feel safe, a bunch of guys riding around on bikes in the area . A guest had a pile of junk outside their room, which attracted an abundance of flies.

Close to many places to eat and shop There were a few weirdos hanging out at McDonalds, but other than that, seemed okay.

I was so nervous about my stay in California, mostly worried about safety/location/busy-ness of things. I was SO pleasantly surprised!! Ventura was not the busy/crazy I thought it would be. The location and hotel were great! Literal 10 min walk to the beach, they kept the property very clean, actively outside cleaning up the parking lot, pool area. Inside they were touching up paint, sweeping. You would never guess it was a packed hotel, it was quiet (I was on the side facing an open field, not so sure about the side that McDonald’s is on though). The room did have an interesting smell. Not bad.. and the room was very clean, just interesting.. Also, it was not the temperature I expected it to be and I only packed dresses. The front desk guy was like oh there is a thrift store downtown if you want to grab something. GENIUS!! 5 min drive, we had so much fun and I found a perfect light cardigan for the remainder of my trip! Very good experience!!!

Second time staying at this motel, it’s overall pretty clean and quiet. The State beach is a quick walk and there are restaurants nearby as well. Will continue to stay here

Property was one block from everything! The beach, dining, evening drinks. And just a few minutes away from Cowboys training camp.

Ive stayed many times and always enjoy it.close to beach and food.downtown close.freeway close.

So easy to walk to beach and marina park is within walking distance. More restaurants, Vons, laundromat, Starbucks,,nail salon, and bicycle shop are less than 1 mile away!

Yes love it close to beach n freeway as well as other beaches. The only downside was no coffee pot but it was ok the office serve coffee in the morning. We will stay there again on our next trip there.

No frills place that is clean, and with the amenities that I need, Walk to the beach or a short drive to stores, and eating establishments.

Great hotel a block and a half from the beach and great restaurants… Several gas stations and restaurants across the street and next door … Pool was nice and very cool.. bed was comfortable and shower was a little different but pretty good

From Tacoma Washington. .. Nice Hotel walking distance from the beach and several kid friendly restaurants.staffing levels were great. If we needed anything there was a staff member that made it happen. Thanks Motel 6 for an awesome guest experience.

convenient. right off the freeway. fast food, gas and convenience stores next door. excellent location, just a few miles from pier, fairgrounds, marina and village shopping and restaurants! Room was adequate for one or two-spartan.

The staff at the desk was very friendly and helpful. It is walking distance from the beach and was very clean. To make our stay perfect, it would have been nice to have breakfast. Overall a very good day highly recommend
