Amazing property . Would definitely recommend . Pools need to stay open longer. Closing at 630 is way too early

The room was perfect great view. The only problem was that our building 6 had stairs no elevator. And had to walk up aĺl those flights of stairs!!! To the 3rd Floor!!!

My Spa was without words! I left the earth at least 6x forgetting where I was.....lol

This is a very beautiful property and very convenient. Anything you need and want is at your fingertips. The staff is excellent and the rooms were clean and cool with a pre-stocked minibar and fridge. Not to mention the nightly entertainment. It is definitely worth every penny!!!

I was over the sports bar as well as the lounge and so the music disturbed us at nights it was loud until in the 2am hours

For entertainment and parties, I would rate it 10/10. However, the staff members are not welcoming some of them are very mean and rude. The spa staff were the worst; I don’t think they are properly trained. As you walk around, they just stare at you from head to toe and roll their eyes. In every country I’ve visited, I always go for a massage at the spa, but here they were so rude and unprofessional. Nobody tried to sell packages or offer any services, so I ended up not doing anything.The food was very disappointing most of it was cold and lacked flavor. It didn’t taste like real Jamaican food at all. The lasagna was especially bad and tasteless. The buffet also needs to be cleaned because it looked dirty. Desserts were limited and not that good.Another issue was at Pepe’s food stand, where they serve jerk chicken. The servers were rude every time someone said they didn’t want jerk or barbecue sauce they would call them “Africans,” which was offensive.On the first night I arrived, the waitress who served us was also rude and unfriendly. The steak at the buffet was so tough and undercooked that it nearly broke my plate. The floor and stairs are very slippery, and when it rains, water runs down the stairs.

This place was amazing super clean! Staff was cleaning around the clock different areas of the property. Food was amazing each meal time.

Hotel was super clean and the location was on top of the beach which was easily accessible. Love all the amenities including the gym, and the food was incredible! Would definitely go back! My honey and I had a great time!

I found the staff who worked in the Spa and dining area much more helpful, knowledgable and friendly than the front desk/customer service. Travelling from the hotel RIU Montego Bay to down town Montego Bay on the “hip strip” can be expensive using hotel shuttle ( $40 U.S. round trip. The conversion rate for exchanging U.S. currency for Jamaican dollars was approximately $132 Jamaican dollars for 1 U.S. at the RIU Montego Bay.(The official rate is actually $160 Jamaican to 1 U. S. at the local banks) If I wanted my bed to be made and room cleaned. I had to call front desk to make that request a couple times during my stay. I also found a cockroach in the bathroom. Other than that I enjoyed the food and the nightly entertainment shows.

Overall room was clean, public bathrooms were clean, dining areas were clean. Not crazy about reusable cups and no straws. I was given a shot glass with lip stick from previous user on it. My bathroom smelled like sewage every time we ran the water. And I noticed the same smell as we approached the building which I stayed in which was 5028. The stay was very friendly overall and accommodating. Pools need to stay open later maybe to 8pm and 1 pool should stay open until maybe midnight for night pool parties and be cleaned everyday. Especially the swim up pool bar that is filled with urine by 6pm. The food on the resort was really good and great variety.

While we throughly enjoyed the entertainment & staff there were many things we noticed on this trip to riu montego bay that disappointed us as returning guests. First and foremost being the live cockroach we saw in the food area during lunch service one day during our stay & the frequent flies on all the food in the rose hall buffet and the asian and Italian restraunt buffets as well. We also noticed that the pools were all only open until 6pm and often had bugs floating in the water. & unlike our previous trip we were not assisted with our luggage once at the resort or during departure. Overall , we love the atmosphere, entertainment, and staff at the riu montego bay. However , the bugs in and around the food area was truly disappointing, along with all dinner services ending at 10pm & the only thing available past that time being stale nachos and hot dogs in the sports bar. Overall just not a good food experience and we actually ordered out food delivery multiple times during our stay costing us additional money during our all inclusive stay. We do love riu & montego bay as weve returned 3 times. However i do feel as though we missed out on a lot of what we paid for as far as the luxury experience we were expecting. The best part of this resort in my opinion is the riu entertainment crew. We hope to return someday and hopefully have a better experience.

The resort was very clean and the staff was nice and accommodating.

The staff was great except the woman who argued with us about our return shuttle. She wasn't going to let us have it because we didn't click the text confirmation they sent. How is this possible? We travel with our phones in Airplane mode - which means texts don't come through!! The beach was over crowded with no place to sit most days. And there were actual roaches in the room.

Didn't have a great beach view on the ground level. Noone really coming around to pick up cups from in or around the pool.

The room was clean, sofa was outdated. The building and wall in the corridor need fresh coat of paint. The style of the staff's brown uniform reminds me of a slave plantation worker.

The room had a musty smell.

My room had a leak in the ceiling due to the ac frain clogged. Wifi problems

We expected a true king size bed and not two queen beds pushed together. The bed divide/split was uncomfortable and aggravating.

Room 6018 is not Ocean View it's obstructed by trees. Only one staff wasn't nice. She was at the front desk. She gave us a really hard time about a towel card after we made it to the front desk as we were instructed to do by phone and then had us walk all the way back over to the towel location to get a towel card that could be given at the front desk. Paint is coming off the wall above the balcony door.

Property was amazing . I enjoyed the beach ,the food was delicious and entertainment was good. However, it was very noisy. I could hear the people in the next room talking . Overall, I enjoyed my stay.

The beach view was cute it wasn’t as a expected and the balcony was small.

My overall stay was alright. One thing I liked was the entertainment and the people I met at the property. However, the staff was very rude and anytime I had request it was solved partially. For example I had to keep coming to the front desk for a restock on beverages like water because there was nowhere else to get it on the resort. Was told it would be restocked every two days and that wasn’t true. I went a whole evening without access to water due to the staff not providing with what I needed. Come to this resort for fun only but if you want a quality stay this isn’t it.

Jowayne was THE best receptionist ever I tell you. Check in process was smooth and if I had any lil inconveniences he was always there to help. Respect to all of the staff! bartenders, housekeepers, everyone in general was kind & helpful. Stayed for 4 nights it was a 10/10 would recommend.

Front desk staff are not welcoming or friendly. There was no greeting after announcing it was my birthday. The original room I was assigned was changed because 'supposedly' it was not ready by check-in time. Had I not followed up, there was no communication to let me know my room changed. Now to the room. When I walked in, I was so disappointed. The room smelled like fecal matter, the bathroom light was broken, and the light in the shower did not work. (This was a birthday gift to myself and it was truly money wasted). I called the fron desk requesting to speak with a manager. A female who would not repeat her name told me the front desk staff are advised against transferring calls to managers. On my birthday, I had to physically go to the front desk to report the issues. With no apology or empathy, I was told maintenance would fix the light. No one from housekeeping came like I was told to assess the intrusive smell of waste. After settling in and having the opportunity to lay down the first night, I was attacked by small tiny brown bugs. They were all over the night stand, the bed and walls; I did not sleep well at all. FYI, there are white curtains behind the accent curtains by the balcony. It was lipstick, drops of what looked to be dried blood, and filth! Apparently they dont get washed since they are hidden behind the accent curtain. The floors felt as if they were filled with sand. Go to google reviews to learn more.

Great hotel. Bartenders can be a little friendlier. The entertaining team is amazing! Lots of things to do throughout the day.

Jaden #9, front desk check in was amazing! The check in and check out line was crazy long st the hotel! He got the line going, checking people in and out efficiently! He saw me limping and walking slow, so he moved my room to building one, so I can access the pool next to the reception and dinning room to my comfort! I just had hi surgery five to six months ago and was struggling walking around the resort

Staff were amazing! Everyone was very friendly! It is kept very clean. Check-in could use an improvement for a speedier check in time. It took us an hour in line just to get to the counter. No fans to circulate the air. Loved our bar tenders especially Kevin at the Root bar!! Definitely will return in the near future!

We had to ask 3 times for service on the third day, they only restock the room fridge every other day, couldn’t get any reservations so every where we ate was Buffett only. Not recommended for anyone.

I recently stayed at Riu Montego Bay and overall, it was a great experience. The entertainment was lively and enjoyable, and I especially loved taking peaceful morning walks along the beach. The food was a highlight of the stay the buffet at Rose Hall offered much more variety compared to the à la carte restaurants. My step-dad-in-law works there as a cook, and his breakfast shift really stood out; he went above and beyond to make sure guests were well taken care of. That said, I was a bit disappointed with the steak served with mushroom sauce at Sofia, as it fell short of expectations. The rooms could also use some improvement, we did come across a roach in the bathroom. Additionally, one morning I woke up with swollen eyes, which may have been related to pollen, pillowcases, the AC/fan, or something in the air. Despite these minor setbacks, I would definitely return. The entertainment, food variety, and overall atmosphere made for an enjoyable stay for my husband’s birthday. I spoke to the front desk team on arrival regarding the reason for our trip, hubby’s birthday. They mentioned we will receive a 6” cake for his day, however, we got a letter and a packet of Jamaican coffee. My husband is from Jamaica and l was disappointed 😔 as l had inquired on what they could do to make it special and l didn’t mind paying extra for it. Next I’ll bring my own bottle of champagne, roses etc. 🙄

Exactly what we were looking for in a short get away vaca. Close to airport

Such a nice short getaway. Only 8 min ($20) from the airport. The food was great. The night shows are so fun. Silver Birds drum band is personal favorite. I would recommend this hotel and I’ll be back for sure.

Best vacation I ever had. These are not the Jamaicans I’m used to being a New Yorker; 95% of the people were pleasant and accommodating, and almost everyone shared their sense of humor with us. The one problem is as SOON as you step off the property (the KFC is right there but NOT WORTH THE TRIP) there’s 10 guys trying to sell you something for the privilege of escorting you across a 4-lane road; I’m from Brooklyn fam, I definitely got this (herb and the capacity to cross the damn street).

Location is good near the airport,entertainment was Superb, RIU fun Fit instructor Cordel is Awesome & funny, Restaurant lots of choices late Breakfast is Available kuddos to AbbiGay the waitress we always have, Awesome lady she remember what we drink for late breakfast. Love the Neon Party kuddos to Prince who did my Face Painting. Always looking forward for their Entertainment's & Show every night. Great place for Vacation ♥️

Shops and entertainment areas were all nearby. Beaches and pools were all within walking distance. All in all it turned out to be a great and fun experience at RIU MONTEGO BAY. Loved it. Had a blast.👍

The setting is lovely! We had an ocean-view room that offered more of an escape than the rooms that face the garden. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. Very few TV stations for those who like to unwind in the room for a bit.

Friends and I stayed at RIU MoBay to have fun and relax. This resort had the BEST entertainment team I've ever seen. I reserved roundtrip airport transfer prior, but if you don't there are taxis outside the airport (15m ride), and RIU drivers on the property (Owen was great). Juan welcomed us and checked us in smoothly. Loved the 24hr sports bar with snacks & drinks. PROS: -Entertainment (Rollie, TT, Mosquito, slim guy with the fan). -Drinks, drinks, & more drinks (Nikesha was our big sis). -There was always food available. Jamaican food like jerk chicken, salad, veggies and rice near the pool/beach. - The main dining hall/buffet had sections of Jamaican food (AMAZING) and other foods like pasta, American burgers, pizza, fruits dessert, etc. Same categories for breakfast. Samantha was a doll during lunch! I tried looking for her everyday. Everyone was nice! -KFC, Burger King & a small mall was a 5-7 min walk. -There are 4 pools, 3 are always chill with lots of seats, and space to swim. Choose these to relax. -Large comfy beds/robes. Nice bathrooms. -Complimentary minibar in room. CONS: -No ATM on the property. You have to walk about 5 mins outside the property to the bank/teller. Easy walk, but not always convenient. -The Swim-up bar gets ridiculously overcrowded during the pool parties. Luckily, there's a 2nd bar. If you come for the parties then this is where you'll be. The Friday there felt & looked like a college Spring Break. I enjoyed watching. We had fun!

Food prep could have been better. Food was bland. And hours of food available could be better. Lunch from 12-3 and only offering stale tortilla chips, burgers, and hotdogs

Had a wonderful time here. Staff were all very friendly and invested in their guests having fun. #WhiteOut party was my favourite and the club was an absolute hit every night. Shout out to the staff in the pool side Jerk Hut... that chicken was on point Every single day.

The bed was very comfortable, slept very well. Kudos to room cleaning crew. They did a very good job and kept my room very clean. The food was average. Nothing special, same food every day at the buffet. Sea food wasn’t fresh. The restaurants low service and food quality. They have 4 restaurants, didn’t like the food served in any of them. It’s hard to find an opening, to make a reservation. I guess they have limited openings.

The hotel is nice but we've stayed at much better Riu's before. The biggest complaint was the food; most of the restaurants were closed and we had to result to the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which basically served the same food. At one point some of our friends ordered out, which is kind of ridiculous to have to do that at an all-inclusive resort.

I wished the dinner reservation was better . I stayed at the resort for 5 days and unfortunately me nor my family of 7 ; could not make a reservation . Dinner reservations was booked two or three days ahead so therefore it left a lot of people who wanted to experience something besides the buffet was disappointed .
