Let’s start with the positives. The gym was great, my chicken curry delicious and I slept really well. Sadly that’s where it ends. The first question I was asked on check in was “Have you got any ID?” In a really brash manner, which, being honest annoyed me. I was then told what time everything closed… it was very negative. My room was ok but basic and there were shoddy bits, like the door frame had been fixed but not painted. After I had dinner (I was the only person in the bar/restaurant and the waiter was desperate for me to leave him a review) I went back to my room to chill. When I switched the tv on it worked for five minutes and then switched off. No worries I thought, I’ll watch on my laptop. When I tried to watch BBC/DAZN/Sky they all wouldn’t work saying there was a VPN issue. So, I called reception and the bloke argued with me saying it was my laptop. It definitely wasn’t. Said he’d send someone to look at my tv, didn’t get a call for an hour by which time I was ready for bed. There’s something dodgy there. I’m sure this hotel has a purpose but for me it wasn’t that great.

This is a very tired hotel. Holes in curtains and stains in the carpet. Waited 5-6 mins for a member of the team to arrive in the dining room at breakfast and then gave up. The dining room looked abandoned and not set up for breakfast. This hotel, given its location and setting should really be a lot better than this. The pool and spa area is nice but the Sauna goes off and one has to go to reception to have it put back on. The lights in the pool area do not come on until it is dusk outside meaning it is not adequately lit. I had to ask for 3 days on the bounce for shower gel for the showers as the dispensers in the area were empty and not refilled. Unloved and not properly cared for is my view. I won’t be returning.

We had a good stay, although the hotel room we stayed in was in need of updating, it was very clean and large. The bathroom definitely needs updating as the door and floor are a bit splintered/ cracked, though it was perfectly clean, new towels are needed as the ones we had were very clean but quite thin from being in use for a long time. The reception area appears in the process of updating, hopefully the carpets in the corridors will also be replaced as they let it down a bit. The restaurant was very nice, the menu was a bit limited but our food was fantastic and it was served quickly and was nice and hot. The best part of the stay was definitely the staff, from checking in to checking out they were outstanding. All were very professional but also friendly and approachable, we’ve stayed in many hotels and have to say the staff here were the best that we’ve met.

Staff were friendly, but the room was very dated. The reception has a painted concrete floor which is a terrible first impression everything is worn and dated. The pool was nice and having work done to it the gym looked really fresh and new. changing rooms were grotty and dated . Didnt eat here I went out as I was the only one in the restaurant travelling for work solo. I will be looking elsewhere when I stay in the area in future.

Parking was very easy Staff were delightful and helpful The hotel was very quiet with it being out of season so the menu choice in the restaurant was very limited but what we had was good and value for money. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order again because of the limited number of guests. We will definitely return.
