Spacious, clean room, but dated. We were on the third floor but the elevator was out of order for our full stay. Wi-Fi rarely worked in our room. Within walking distance of a few fast food and restaurants.

I called fthe Alex Hotel requesting a shuttle to the hotel as soon as I landed, and was told ithat it was on its way and would be there shortly. After 45 minutes of countless unanswered calls to the hotel, the receptionist answering the phone told me that the driver never got the message and he was on his way. He arrived 30 minutes later, offering no apology or reason for the delay. When I arrived at the hotel, I stood at the front desk for 15 minutes, while the receptionist was on the phone, chatting it up with someone, before she acknowledged my presence and checked me in. The room was fine but no working thermostat to regulate the temperature. The continental breakfast was satisfying and the morning shuttle bus driver was present, available and ready to take me the airport at my request.

The shuttle is 24/7 for airport pickup. The breakfast has a waffle maker and hot and cold options I didn't like that I had to walk to a separate building after checking in and that the building was not locked at night The hotel seemed old and a little tired. I had no issues and the shuttle was available for a ride back to the airport. It is fine for a place to stay while connecting to a flight or ship

We stay at this property whenever flying in and out of Anchorage. I'm not sure I have ever seen the elevator in the 2nd building in working order. Otherwise the property is very clean, the staff is friendly, the free breakfast is good and plentiful. Above average hotel/motel.

The room was SO old and dated for the price we paid. It is disheartening to come into a room with splatters on the bathroom floor (!) to the point we didn't take our shoes off or shower at all. Gross.

The property was dirty, and there was vomit in the parking lot. Our room was gross. What appeared to be blood or food was on the walls, lampshade, and picture above the bed. The bathroom light switch was so dirty I refused to touch it. We were given another room, which was better. However, allowing someone to enter a room that was the nastiest room I've ever walked into was enough to make me never stay again.

This place is an absolute nightmare!! It was beyond disgusting!! There was black mold all in the bathroom. Looked like it had throw up on the floor. The smell was horrific!!! It truly had a window air conditioner that’s was falling out. Stay away!!!

The room was dirty, carpet not even vacuumed, it smelled and we saw it was moldy when we had daylight. There was also a fight at 4:00 AM so is there any security? It cost almost $300 and we want our money back.

When I got to my room the temperature was 90 degrees. It took a while to get it cooled off. The wifi was bad and the smart tv had problem due to the wifi. I couldn't sign on to any streaming. My laptop would freeze while trying to watch Netflix. In today world wifi should be working.

Old and very run down. Florescent lights, grimy carpet kind of place. Loose, short curtains didn’t come close to blocking out summer nighttime sunlight. But staff was nice, it’s convenient to the airport, and bed was comfortable.

Both the central heating/AC and the window mounted heating/AC were difficult to adjust, so the room was either too cold or too warm. During my second stay the room did not have as many electricity outlets as the first room, nor were they conveniently located. It is a pity that the promised views of Lake Hood are only available from the top floor.

Convenient motel to the airport. Relatively quiet for being so close to the airport. The window drapes needed attention - especially with the longer days of summer coming. The drapery hardware (tracks) prevented the drapes from closing completely. Otherwise, it was a comfortable room.

Very old hotel that is falling apart. The door to the room wasn’t tall enough for the frame, you could look through a 1/2” gap at the top. The bathroom door did not even close, it hit the frame. Mattress wasn’t too bad, the pillows were very hard. Everything is just old and worn, needs a total remodel. Staff was rude.

They reimbursed us because we had to take a Uber from the airport because their phone was out of order. The desk attendant was very helpful. The room was clean and adequate for an overnight and early flight. Restaurants were close and walkable for dinner. Left too early for breakfast. Transport to airport was good. Great value for the money!

The customer service was horrible, the lady at the front kept being so rude and snobby. Called the front and she was so rude and hung up on me as well. They need new people working there. I’ve stayed twice and they’ve been super rude.

Guy at the check-n desk obviously hates his job. Zero personality. Room was not clean, sheets had some sort of blood stains on them and it was all we could do to actually lay our heads on the pillows or, god forbid, get under the covers. Ewww. Elevator is sketch AF which is totally in-line with surrounding area and those who hang out randomly about the hotel. Would not recommend.

I booked a room in April for two nights for August 18-20, with a king bed and a kitchenette. I even paid extra as compared to a room with just beds. When we arrived late in the evening, they said they have no such rooms. I showed them my receipt with the description along with a picture of the room I booked. The desk clerk was not helpful. The next morning I asked to talk to the owner/manager about getting a refund for the difference plus canceling my 2nd night. The desk clerk was not very helpful. She told me that I needed to cancel 48 hours in advance. I told her I would have had I know they did not have any kitchenettes. I asked why they advertised it. She was no help in reaching out to the owner/manager. She mentioned that he doesn’t keep regular hours. She didn’t know when he was coming. I ended up paying for another stay that had a kitchen. All in all, the shuttle service was good and the bed was comfortable. The rest of the hotel is in need of a remodel. The dining area floor was so sticky that it carried over to my room. The bathroom floor then became sticky. I had to clean the bottom of my shoes. I do not recommend staying at the Alex Hotel at this time.

Good location, close to downtown and bus stops. The free breakfast service was ok but it does not offer more than one paper plate/voucher nor let you take breakfast up to your room (inconvenient for families with children who need more sleep and can’t physically come down for breakfast)

Have stayed many years here. Few people know their breakfast area also has a dinner menu starting around 4 pm. Very basic but Burgers and sandwiches were great and steak fries tasty and plentiful. Totally reasonable. Get your extras at buffet counter. Very homey! And not big $$$ like others in area!

The one thing I didn't like was that the breakfast was over too early. After an exhausting day we got up and went to breakfast but it was already put away. It ended at 9:00 AM. I liked that they stored our fish in their freezer until we needed to go to the airport even though we were a few hours after checkout. That customer service will get me coming back.
