Staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The room and pool were very clean. The parking was perfect, with many spots available in the covered parking garage. The kids thought having a shower and tub in the bathroom was really cool. We would definitely book here again.

Excellent Stay The Carnegie Hotel is clean, quiet, and spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful, and parking is free and easy. It’s in a great location—just a short walk to the ETSU campus. The restaurant has fantastic food and a classy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Hotel is located in a good location for walkable places to eat. Rooms are clean and bed and linens heavenly. We used the pool which is very clean and comfortable for relaxing. Parking for hotel has no extra charge which is a plus for my traveling.

I have stayed at The Carnegie about 10 times in the last year due to my dad’s health and needing to visit often. The accommodations are the best and rival any place I have ever stayed anywhere in the world! Rooms are large with comfy beds, awesome housekeeping spacious desk area to get work done. The restaurant, Wellingtons has excellent food, great room service and the bartenders Sam and Zach are just AMAZING! The front desk staff, all of them, have always been helpful and have treated me like family. They have gone way above what you’d expect at a nice hotel. Housekeeping staff is incredible as well. Everyday when I come back to my room the bed is made better than I had to make mine in the Navy. Bathrooms, desk area everything just impeccable and fit for royalty! I will not stay any place else in the Tri-Cities area.

Beautiful hotel with a staff of warm and professional employees that go above and to beyond for their guests. I’m very particular about cleanliness and found the rooms to be so clean that I even enjoyed a relaxing bath! The beds and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud and the linens and towels don’t smell weird like most other hotels. I also loved the large desk and workspace tucked in a niche with plenty of room to work. The hotel offers plenty of free parking in a rear multi story covered parking garage. The hotel restaurant / room services were great;But, the Spa is an absolutely amazing must go to!!

Clean, neat historic atmosphere, large bathroom, conveniently located next to campus. Only drawbacks: no in-room microwave or fridge and there was one ice machine located on the lower level. Bed was not the most comfortable. Overall, nice stay at a unique hotel.

This is a stunning property in the old classical sense of dark paneling, interesting furnishings, beautiful bedrooms, brass fixtures, etc. Sleigh beds in the rooms, not just a headboard fastened to the wall! Truly elegant. The Wellington dining room and bar were great. HUGE selection of bourbons and interesting menu. Only faults were a noisy room due to traffic on the street outside...maybe better soundproofing windows in the future. And LIGHT!! The bathroom was very well lit and spacious but there was only ONE dim lamp on the bedside table. No overhead. Difficult to even pack or unpack! But we'd definitely stay again. Maybe bring our own lightbulbs. ; )

WOW! What a gem! From check-in to checkout, every staff person was friendly, helpful. Not one single complaint; do not remember when that last happened at another hotel. The decor is fabulous! It was like the a private club but without the snobbishness. Sam in the bar made our day. What a great human being. It was so great, we felt like kids in a candy shop.

The place wore me out. Got out of the shower and was greeted with a maintence man in my Roma’s I stood there naked. Loud drunken people at the bar. Nightmare. Won’t stay here again. EVER!

We enjoyed our stay. Nothing to say negative about the room. We had reservations at Wellington restaurant the same night, when we arrived at our reservation time, they did not have a table or booth for us, instead sat us at a bar. Which was awkward at first. They did give us a bottle of inexpensive champagne to try to make up for it. However, it was in poor taste when you spend 160 on dinner and drinks. Food was really good, service was good. Seating should be worked on better in the future for those of us that have reservations.

I don't usually leave reviews, but we were very happy with our stay. The room was exceptionally clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were isolated enough that we didn't hear the noise from adjacent rooms. We did have a group hanging out talking in the hallway late at night, which was not the fault of the hotel. When I called the front desk about this the situation was immediately resolved. Very happy with our stay

Exceptional customer service!!!!!! Great location. PARKING: If you have a large truck you have to park about .3 miles down the road. I booked through a central office so they said we would be able to fit our truck in the lot but they were incorrect. Just letting anyone who plans on driving here in a larger vehicle to be aware. Otherwise the people here were absolutely the best and the hotel is very nice.

The property is beautiful. The problem is it appears they cater to the special event clientele. We booked 1 night and were up most of the night with a party in the room next to us. The noise would ebb and flow during the night with people knocking on our door looking for the room next to us. We had enough at 2:30 am and called the front desk, who sent someone to quiet the room down which didn't happen until 3:30 am. The front desk clerk in the morning took our phone number and said a manager would call. That call never came. We were charged full price for a nightmare stay. We will not make that mistake again. Terrible stay and I don't think they care.

Nice, clean hotel. However, our room faced the parking garage and it was an all night center of activity. Started out as roof top party of some sort and turned into an all night rendezvous with what sounded like drag races. Incredibly noisy; fortunately guieted down around 5:00am. Would not recommend a room on this side of the Hotel unless you are there to party

Everything was great about this property with the exception of noise from the busy street in front. Lots of racing cars up the street and loud motorcycles making it difficult to sleep. Not really something the place can control.

Very conveniently located for ETSU and getting to know the Johnson City area. Excellent on-site food plus others within walking distance. Nice glimpses of the mountains over the ETSU campus, from the sixth floor. The staff… ALL of them we encountered … were polite, cheerful, and very good at what they did. It was a great visit!

We had to be out by 7 AM for a function. I assumed (should have checked ahead) that breakfast would start at 6, but it didn't start until 8, so we missed out. Also, there's not a lot at the restaurant of you're a vegetarian, which we are. The hotel and staff were great. Everything was clean and nice. I just wish we could've gotten breakfast before we left.

The hotel and restaurant are beautiful, grand examples of luxury. Our room was very large, and the bathroom was one I'd love at home. Separate tub and shower, double sinks, and roomy enough to dance in. Service was perfect, cheerful and above and beyond our expectations.

Always a comfy and unique historical experience at this hotel. Have stayed a few times and will stay again! The bar at the restaurant downstairs has the most extensive whisky/scotch menu of anywhere I've been, it's awesome.
