Disappointing front desk service. On the morning of our departure, I asked the front desk if they could help arrange four boiled eggs for our children to eat on the road, as we had missed breakfast. The staff member immediately said there was no takeaway option and made no effort to check with the restaurant or offer an alternative. I went to the Level 6 restaurant myself, where a staff member was extremely helpful and took the initiative to ask the chef. I was then able to purchase four boiled eggs for NZD 20. The price was never the issue. What disappointed me was the lack of willingness from the front desk to even try to assist with such a simple request. In contrast, the restaurant staff showed excellent professionalism and hospitality. I hope the hotel can provide better training to the front desk team, particularly in initiative, problem-solving, and family-friendly service. The issue itself was simple: the front desk showed no willingness to assist with a small request for our children, while the restaurant staff immediately helped us resolve it. What disappointed me further was the hotel’s response to my feedback. Rather than genuinely acknowledging the service gap, the reply felt generic and overly focused on defending the hotel’s own service standards. Good hospitality is not about telling guests how excellent your service is — it is about listening when a guest’s actual experience suggests otherwise. Wonderful room, great staff and good location. We had a car but did use the free shuttle service which was very good (once an hour). Dinner at the restaurant was superb. Genuinely wonderful place.
