Red Roof Inn Winston-Salem

The place is in complete disarray from construction besides that my room wasn't even ready yet though he connected no remote for the TV no garbage pail no cops no coffee pot with a shower tub wasn't even finished yet totally disappointed.

No laundry

This hotel is pretty nice my only complaint would be the soda machine is forever out of order. They advertised that they have laundry services which they don't they also advertise that have breakfast which they don't.

I arrived at night and outside lighting was very poor

There is no laundry service They keep saying that it will be ready next week, but it isn't.

There is no laundry service and no cups to use with the coffee machine.

The staff were actually friendly. Inside signs EVERYWHERE "$100 cash deposit all guests no matter what..." we were not charged fortunately. The real issues stemmed from NO signage or property lights (literally couldn't find the place at 11 PM) it was pitch black outside, building was literally hidden. At 5 AM we were awaken by a man arguing and being belligerent right beside our room and a door slammed over half a dozen times. Place attracts a rough crowd, be vigilant.

Where to start… First, this hotel should be closed until renovations are complete. Exterior was poorly lit and not identified as the Microtel (so a challenge to find). It was full of construction debris and dirt. The room was halfway renovated. The heating unit was filthy. There was caulk and other debris in the room and on the walls. Bathroom door didn’t shut. No hot water in the shower. No lock on the door (other than deadbolt, there was no physical bar lock). Exactly one stained bath towel with no towels or washcloths available (I asked). No breakfast, even though I was told at check-in that a continental breakfast would be provided (it wasn’t). I will say the bed was comfortable and appeared clean, so there’s a plus! And the staff that I did meet were pleasant and making the best of a bad situation. Regardless I won’t be back.

I've stated this hotel for about 6 weeks so far the service at the front desk is okay as hotels go but the housekeeping is terrible. I started setting my trash outside the door so they can pick it up but the housekeeping guy told us not to leave the trash outside the door to take it to the dump ourselves. There is no laundry service here at the hotel and the sheets and towels we had to take them to the laundry room myself and then go to the front desk and ask for more they don't come around and replace anything including toilet paper.

The property is under renovation. There was no housekeeping. I had to ask for new towels, toilet paper, and trash bags. The property is poorly maintained. Lots of broken glass outside on the sidewalk towards the side of the building that was swept into the grass. The rooms had missing or defective parts, such as my room did not have a working vent fan in the bathroom and a friend's room had no working A/C.

Was only here for a quick trip and only booked to get a few hours of sleep.The bed had stains all over it. The smoke detector had plastic covering it. The curtain and rod were hanging from the wall. The bathroom was dirty and had an eye lash in the sink. There was NO garbage can at all in the room. The window was also shattered. When asked for a new room they moved us to a room that was still dirty no garbage can had clothes in the closet and the air conditioner didnt work. The staff was also very very rude. Hotel REFUSES a refund and will not respond to any emails or phone calls. Will NEVER stay here again and do no recommened it at all!!

Staff were kind. Room was a disaster. No security lock on the door, bathroom was not clean, smelled of stale smoke, very small, I reserved a room with 2 beds and they put me in a room with a king bed, dirty pillow cases, etc.

Room was dirty, not vacuumed. Broken glass pieces on floor. Desk chair unsafe. No phone, clock or Kleenex. Bathroom floor and tub dirty. Shower curtain had Hugh black mold spots on it. Drains very slow. No hangers for clothes. There is no breakfast or tables upon which to eat. They provide a bag breakfast consisting of a muffin and two breakfast bars. Their health inspection rating is a low B. Management had little or no interest in any complaint.

The sheets had stains and the room smelled dirty. The floors was nasty also needed a good mopping. We was also waken up around 3:00am itching to find bed bugs in the bed. We ended up leaving the hotel at 3:15am. Spoke with Alex at the front desk to see if I could be compensated by returning my payment and he offered to put us in another room which I didn’t wanna take the chance of being bitten by bedbugs a second time, so he told me he didn’t know how they return payments that I would need to call the manager after 11:00 am and speak with Mr. Ken. Alex did tell me that the Red Roof had not had bedbugs in a long time. I most definitely don’t recommend this hotel at all.

Roaches and stains on the bed

Smelly room, hallways, and elevator. Trash pile in the hallway for days. Dingy, stained pillowcases. Broken smoke detector and emergency sprinkler. Dirty, stained carpets. Just an overall dirty, rundown place. I have pictures if needed. Nice staff, but the place is not well managed.

The hotel was run down, dirty sheets were dirty and has cigarettes burn whole in the bedding and mattress. I felt unsafe. It was just a horrible experience. There were female underwear in the bathroom And female sanitary products (used) laying on the floor.

I got bit by bedbugs

Very run down. Dirty bathroom and sheets. The floors were covered with dried mud and our socks turned black on the bottom from our hotel. We had to ask for more towels as no one cleaned our room during the day.

Price was good for what I wanted, but I am pretty sure there were bed bugs in the room I was in. I woke up extremely itchy with bite marks all over me.

BEDBUGS. Only on the first night. Honestly it was the first time in my life I had bed bugs on my bed and I SAW THEM and they crawled ON ME! 😭 I did not get bit tho. I heard that East Coast has a lot of bug problems because of the swamps and the humidity and ecology, I mean yeah no kidding, so I can see this being an issue in many hotels especially since they are so hard to get rid off so I feel them but man. The sheets were clean but full of stains (from the bed bugs). I had to go to the reception after going bonkers in my room at 2 am to make sure nothing got on my stuff, I went to ask for a room change and ended up conversating with the desk attendant. It was honestly a very good conversation that I would have rather have any other time than in the middle of the night. I don't mind your religion but please don't be asking guests if they go to church at 2-3 am in morning after they just went to battle with bed bugs. The hotel feels older than it is and its pretty run down, some outlets didn't work, but I appreciated the fridge and microwave. My new room had no bed bugs, but the sheets although washed still had a bunch of stains. And pillows like always were are super uncomfortable and the AC and fridge pretty loud.

My gps took me to an Outback Steakhouse parking lot, telling me I had arrived at my destination. There were no signs for the Microtel. I had to pull out my phone to look at pictures of my reservation to make sure I was at the right building, which looked like a nursing home. Upon check in, I had passed 3 paper signs taped to the door, desk, and wall. They stated “$100 cash deposit upon check in”. I was not informed of this through my reservation. The check in process was fairly simple. The hotel was under construction. Tools/mess everywhere. My door looked like it had been attacked by a lion (scratches EVERYWHERE and missing screws from the dead bolt). My windows were dirty and UNLOCKED upon my entry. The mattress had a pad on top (crinkled everytime movement was made). All sheets and towels were stained. The bedding consisted of a thin sheet and even thinner blanket. The pillows provided were useless. “Complimentary breakfast” comprised of hostess danishes, nature valley, and nutri grain bar. Overall unimpressed for the price paid.

Hotel was old and smelled like smoke. The room smelled like paint. Floor tiles in the bathroom were loose and a Hazzard. The sinks were too low. The toilet ran all night. The sink was dirty. Looks like there was recent work and there was a lot of corking needed.

Old building. No stay over housekeeping. No tv remote. Refrigerator broken. Switched rooms to a room with lock falling out.

The entire place smelled like an industrial cleaner, there was no toilet paper only a broken toilet paper holder, and the shampoo, conditioner, soap dispensers were all empty, I had an allergic reaction to the bed linen which had the same industrial smell, the wall above the shower needed patching, part of the door lock was missing, it was the worst place that I have ever chosen from hotels.com, I took photos if you interested

Outside of hotel decent, no trash. Bathroom dirty, only 2 pillows for king bed, comforter as thin as sheet, holes in the walls, TV analog only, roaches, and it's very obvious a lot of familiar live at this hotel.

I was delighted to find a bath tub very comfortable. Had to provide my own stopper. I always have a set with me. Bed was clean and comfortable. Wifi very slow before 9 pm then adequately fast.

The only sign I saw was the floormat in the lobby. Safety latch on door was missing. The room was very small. Could not get spouse's wheelchair in. Not up to Wyndham standards.

This place looks fine from the outside, and the location is solid. But the walls are paper thin, so you hear your neighbors' comings and goings, their TV, their arguments. Worse, the bathroom was a mess. The shower curtain had a disgusting line of mildew, and there was a stain at the base of the toilet i prefer not to speculate about. The staff couldnt be bothered to fix the toilet paper dispenser. And there was no maid service of any kind during my three night stay.

No air conditioner heat TV didn’t work. Staff was very rude.

Good people the front desk

When I initially arrived to check in tomorrow, I was given the wrong size bed. Then when I came back to the front desk to get them to fix their mistake, he gave me the key to a room that was already occupied. The third time is when he got it right But the bathroom was Dirty I’d already tired I would have asked for a refund and went somewhere else to get a room. I definitely was not satisfied with my hotel experience last night. Horrible way to bring in the new year. I will not be getting another room with this place again. I forgot to mention that when I initially arrived, I had to wait 20 minutes before anybody even showed up to the front desk to help me.

It was a pleasant stay and Christy working the front desk was very nice and had a welcoming attitude with a smiling face. No one gets paid extra as a hotel receptionist to be extra. She made the stay in my opinion.

Property is under remodel and they want $100 cash deposit. Biggest problem was that Expedia said my room was booked but when i showed up at 1:15a to get my room and was told they didn't have any rooms since 10p.

Staff was welcoming and friendly. Also accommodative.

My stay was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My check in was fast and quick.

They, (that day)started a policy of requiring a $50 cash deposit, that was not mentioned at booking. They did call the manager and waived it. Bad policy, not everyone carries cash and it opens a liability of theft or robbery.

The staff was amazing and always went over and beyond; keep in mind the staff was different! My stay was 5 days and 4 nights, so I built some what of a rapport with them! I live locally and needed time to work on a project. I have traveled as far as Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Bahamas for business and stayed in hotels like the Ritz Carlton - the level of customer service was not like this! Bravo/Brava!!!!!

Horrendous, whilst queuing to check in all 3 guests Infront of me had checked in and were complaining that their rooms had not been cleaned, had no bed sheets, the host was then just reassigning them to different rooms, one guest then quickly returned to say that someone was already occupying that room. Reluctantly I went on to check in, we had 2 rooms booked, we were given 2 rooms together at first glance 1 room seemed ok, but the other had no bed linen, bath was full of dirty towels and garbage scattered all over the room. We were then assigned another room, opened the door to find it was already occupied by another guest. We were then assigned another room which is now at the other end of the building from our other room, again it had not been cleaned and had no bed linen, when we returned to reception we were just given clean bed sheets and told to make the beds ourselves. We did so then returned our other room which we thought was ok, when we actually pulled back the bed quilt, we found the sheets had not been changed, were heavily stained and had body hairs from the previous guests. My wife used the bathroom, when she flushed the toilet, it literally flooded the bathroom floor. We decided at this point to leave, on the way to reception we could hear raised voices, when we got there, there were several very unhappy customers with similar complaints. We handed our keys back, were told we would not be charged for the rooms. Lies they have charged 2 rooms for 3 nights each.

I like how its close to shopping centers and walkable to hospital and hanes mall

I knew the place was under construction when we went.It will look very nice when it is completed. The person who checked us in and whom I returned the keys to the next day was the same person.. She was very friendly. The location was convenient to shopping and restaurants. We will stay at this location again.

Service next to non-existent, room condition was marginal, sheets were stained, and breakfast (which you had to ask for) was a lunch bag of prepackaged danish, fruit bars, and muffin.

It was okay. Wasn't expecting much for the price. The lobby was really clean and staff was nice but the rooms could have been a little cleaner. The rooms were pretty spacious which was nice. The only thing I was disappointed about was that there was no breakfast as advertised and there no explanation for it either.

The bed was horrible and one night the building had no hot water at all to shower. No breakfast at all offer not even coffee lids for coffee at all. Was very disappointed with that hotel. Not worthy my money at all.

Booked 2 non-smoking rooms. Uon arrival, I went to check the rooms. The smoke smell about knocked me down when I opened the first door. The second room was fine. Was not able to get the kids down to sleep until late because we weren't able to get in the other room until around 10pm. Sheets on one bee were dirty. If it has only been my husband and myself, it would have been ok, but definitely not a place for children. No breakfast bar the next morning that was advertised.

Worst experience ever. Stains on the bedding. The bedding smelled odd. Brown smeared stain on the wall by the toilet. Room was dirty. A/C didn’t work. Fridge and microwave weren’t plugged in and there was no way to access the outlets. There was no breakfast as advertised. The staff didn’t care and made the excuse that they are under renovation. Don’t stay here.
