We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Marriott Muskoka for two nights. Much needed family bonding and reconnection time. We came prepared with easy meals to cook in room, and plenty of snacks. Once you get to the resort in the winter, plan to stay and enjoy the facilities as it will be challenging to drive out for a grocery run or anything of the sort. Much of its appeal is the rustic and stunning nature that surrounds the property, and one cannot expect Uber or anything like that :) Staff was incredibly kind, wonderful and accommodating. We dined out twice and prices and quality were what we expected for a hotel of this caliber. The indoor/ outdoor pool was the main attraction for my kids. You can also enjoy the scenic outdoors by walking, snowshoeing, riding on fat bikes to help them burn off some energy. Rooms are well-appointed, spotless, soundproofed and met our expectations. We will be back again - the kids did not want to leave, and their 'review' is what matters most. :)

First of all, the property is stunning and absoloutly amazing. The views from all over are truly breathtaking. The property alone is enough motivation to return. A couple things to keep in mind though.. Stairs. Lots of stairs. A million stairs.. walking the property and getting down to the beach is a work out. Not easy to get up and down quickly, so plan a head. Housekeeping should be better at this pricepoint. Rooms equipped with kitchens.. but not cleaned thoroughly. If people are eating in the room.. you need to vacuum. Crumbs will happen and they are obvious evidence the cleaning was not thorough. Pools dont have food or drink service. You can bring your own snacks.. but would be nice to be able to have a drink by/in the pool, or a bar nearby. No gift shop.. just a very small coffee shop with toiletries and snacks for sale, open for limited hours. Service is not bad necessarily, but it is not impressive either. At this price point and quality of property.. you would expect staff going the extra mile to cater to the guests. Overall, the stay was wonderful and we will be back. Travelled with children and we did not get to do every activity - not enough time and the pool seemed to be the main highlight.

All in all we had a good time .not much to do outside of the resort so be prepared to stay on the premises for your entire stay. Food is pretty expensive so bring lots of snacks. Staff are nice and the spa is great too, the pool at the Spa area needs some TLC, the paint is coming off and got on my hands and swim suit, lots of missing tiles also.

Heated pool during the winter time is a bonus. Only 2 restaurants open during the winter months and not many options. Rooms and resort are clean. Staff are super friendly and easy to talk to. Since it is a big resort and nothing nearby, it would be nice to have more options for food/restaurant.

The only Mandatory fees （65$ a night) not mention and when I ask any chargeable activities. They said only a leaflet will show. Suggest must mention to guests when check-in. To avoid any arguments.

Very clean. All staff friendly- a couple of little hiccups no welcome drink, drapes above bed let too much light in the room in the morning, ordered room service and the menu online didn’t match what was available i.e. no loaded fries available and no pickles on the fried chicken burger. Loved all the activities laid out for children, a little pricey for some of the activities you have to purchase. Pool was a little cloudy but temperature and seating area were great! Children’s splash pad area water was dirty. Overall a great peaceful getaway with a beautiful view.

Outdoor pool in winter was fun. Room was well appointed but dusty, and shower door was really creaky. All in all a great stay but a little pricey in my opinion for what you get.

Had a 2 bedroom suite..4 nights the view was stunning The room was dirty hair in the Bath Tub.. I used 24 Lysol wipes to clean room. I rate cleanliness a 1 overall and rate property a 8. Had to call for towels and to have room cleaned. Cleaning staff are rude. Front desk was not helpful in facilitating a good outcome with cleaning staff.

My experience was mediocre and did not feel like a good value for the money. The resort lacked adequate family entertainment and "fun" factors. While the staff was okay, the facilities need attention—specifically regarding cleanliness in common areas. Staff was very friendly and helpful . Pablo, Sean and Ava were stand out great... The bison tenderloin at the Chop house and the salmon at Cottages were fabulous dishes . The rooms have relatively thin walls so we could hear the baby crying next door in the early hrs. Otherwise a lovely weekend ( despite the cold weather. )

Well, first off the bad was I booked a water view room and was given a courtyard view room... It was labeled as courtyard on hotels.com after I checked in, even though I checked my booking email and it said water view. So they changed it after the fact. I guess you could see a sliver of water technically... So the place loses points for not having me in the right kind of room. I didn't bother complaining because I was tired and it was during the smokey days of the forest fires. The first night we didn't even leave our room because we didn't want to go outside and the view would have been all hazy anyways. The other knock was there was a stain on the carpet... ketchup or sauce of some kind... It at least was a stain and not like sauce that hadn't been cleaned up. This was my second time staying at this hotel and it's a nice place. Great location and grounds. Going to the spa is relaxing. And its always nice having a view of the lake from up high. Overall the place screams quality though some things need a little bit of repair here and there. Staff are friendly and attentive. As long as you get your correct room I am sure you'll have a good time

Overall, everything was excellent. However, our suite was located near the entrance on a lower level, and the sound insulation could be improved, as we frequently heard noise from guests entering and exiting the building.

The property is beautiful. The room was beautiful at first sight. The sink in the bathroom was very slow draining. The fireplace only stayed on 10 minutes. The weeds in the balcony area are pretty bad. The view however, from the balcony is amazing. This could be an amazing property. It just needs some attention.

Our stay was awesome, I have no issues. Only thing I would recommend is change all the shower heads to hand held. The shower is small and uncomfortable to give a child a shower when the shower head is so high and the shower is a 3’ X 3’. Hand held shower head is the best thing in washing yourself. We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive suite. There was 8 of us and one night we cooked dinner. I lt will be nice if there was more bowls to put our food to serve from.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite with courtyard view. The room was very clean and comfortable. However the room only had one full bathroom with a shower. This was a bit of an inconvenience for a family of 5. Overall you can tell the building is old and some renovations are needed in the rooms. However, the cleanliness made up for it. Service was always great at the front desk but very slow in the bar area. Be prepared to pay $15+ for drinks. The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub were great! Overall, a good stay and will come back to experience it in the winter/summer (not many activities available in the spring).

The property was incredible. The staff all very polite. The food at ‘the deck’ was good. Guest Services Manager Kaia made the stay unforgettable. She helped us out (more than once) and is a great add to the team. If anyone ever has any issues, ask for Kaia by name, she is amazing.

Very poor guest services. Staff were polite but practically unable to help with any simple requests. On the first day I asked for a luggage trolly to take our stuff to our room. I had to wait over 30min for that. Later at night I realized that our sofa bed did not have pillow, blanket, bed sheet, etc. I called the front desk 4 times over a span of one hour but every time I was told that the staff were 1 minute away from our room!!! My child needed to sleep but we were not getting any help with the sofa bed items. Finally I had to go the front desk at midnight and make some noise. I was asked to go back to my room and the staff would bring the items shortly but I didn't budge! Then they had to send a guy to get us what we wanted and bring them to the lobby. On the last day again I needed a trolly for our stuff. I waited for 45min but no one showed up. I took the stuff myself eventually to the front office. There seemed to be this policy that no one would do anything for you but had smiley face and promise you the help only. The hotel food wasn't good at all also. Starting the second day we decided to eat outside.

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. It was our 25th anniversary and there was a complimentary wine in our room with a lovely note. Also complimentary dessert with dinner. What was most exceptional were the staff, attentive and welcoming. The grounds stunning! Highly recommend!

The staff were excellent, the grounds were beauitful but the pricing on any goods were way too expensive. Both restaurants pricing were extreme considering the portions. The service was substandard. It would be hard to go back because of this reason. The outdoor pool entrance is a hazzard. I cut my head going from the indoor pool to the outdoor pool. It took a layer of skin off my head. No hazzard signs. Very dangerous

Was our first time visiting, we definitely were not disappointed. Right from the start, the service was incredible. The eagerness to make us feel welcomed as well as the way we were treated by the staff, was truly second to none. The facilities, the spa experience, the room, the grounds were all truly top notch. The extra subtle touches to make us feel at home truly made the experience. I cannot thank the JW Rosseau staff enough.

We travelled for our son’s 10th birthday and to test whether we wanted to book a two week stay in the summer. We travelled with 3 children including a baby, it took 90 minutes to get a baby crib at nighttime and I had to call 3 times to remind them. We ordered room service in the evening and was told it would take 30-40 minutes, it took 75 minutes and our children’s food was cold and inedible at which stage the kitchen was just shutting. We wanted to order room service for breakfast but my husband spent 30 minutes trying to call but no one was picking up. When we checked out we had to fight to have the kids meals comped. When we asked if the hotel was busy we were told it wasn’t, which doesn’t bode well for the peak season.

The location , grounds and views from this property are outstanding. The rooms are a little dated but the friendliness of the staff , the wide range of activities and the spectacular location , gardens and views over the lake far make up for it.

Rooms are first rate. Spacious, clean, well appointed. Hotel grounds and amenities the same. The restaurant we ate at though was expensive and sub par. My steak wasn’t cooked properly and it also wasn’t the steak shown on the menu. My whole meal was like warm. My wife’s pasta was also only like warm. For the price I would expect the quality of the meal to be a lot higher. I would stay at this hotel again but would avoid the food there at all cost. McDonald’s is a better option. At least their food is hot!

We had a lovely time. The prices of items are high and the service and accommodations are good. There seems to be a disconnect on certain items - like breakfast being served in a windowless room, when you really want to enjoy the view. The cost for steak at 83$ being good but definitely not 83$ worth. Only offering 50 min massages - and charging a premium for a good massage. Couldn’t find a nice place to enjoy the view and have a drink without construction. Lots of areas are no food no drink.

Food wasn’t great. Most of time the food at all restaurants was cold and chicken was overcooked. Wife stated we wanted to be in a nice quiet part of the restaurant. Both times we had to be moved as major loud family parties were place beside our table. Also the chops steakhouse

Food needs a major update! I got terrible food poisoning or something that make me vomit from 12-4am! I had the lentil salad from Lakes restaurant. It has taken me the better part of two days to recover. Also the hamburgers were burnt and the food took over 45 minutes to come! We are frequent visitors but will bring our own food next visit. Very disappointing for such a lovely resort.

I enjoyed my time very much at the JW Marriott. The staff were very helpful. I do think that there should be more ramps put in for people needing more accessibility to the waterfront proper as that would be difficult if one wanted to get to the beach itself who had mobility concerns. The dining staff required more hands on management with consistency in service. Some serves were more engaged than others. That being said, all were congenial and there was always help if needed to fill in the gaps. The waterfront views are unmatched. Absolutely glorious.
