Location is wonderful with beautiful views of Lake Muskoka. One bedroom suite was not very clean. I had to wipe bathroom floor and always felt like the floors were dirty ( we always removed our shoes upon entering ) There was nowhere to put your clothes. One closet with no shelving and no light. We had to live out of our suitcases. Electric barbecue was disgustingly dirty. We tried to use it but it gave off so much smoke and grease, we took our food off. You are supposed to shower before using hot tub/pool but the one unisex bathroom was not clean. Floor was dirty with hair all over and near the shower. This was at 9:30 AM. Resort itself is very nice but needs some of the cobwebs cleaned off of light fixtures, around windows etc. I realize bugs and cobwebs are a part of the location but it looked like nothing has ever been swept off. I’m sure if we visited during peak season and were able to use more of the amenities, we might have appreciated other aspects of the resort more. We definitely had higher expectations for the cleanliness of what is supposed to be a four star resort.

Room was clean, but did have a bit of a smell at first, but it did seem to calm down after we had balcony door open for a bit. Staff did not advise that we could ask for towels to use at the pool. The rooms are positioned very high on the property, but unfortunately you can’t really see the lake due to the trees blocking the view. Kitchen in our unit was awesome. Room was very spacious. Really liked the layout of the living area and separate bedroom. The staff at the Touchstone Grill restaurant was great. The food was EXCELLENT! Overall, it was a great 2 day stay at Touchstone Resort and look forward to getting back there again soon.
