There was an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe. The room was very warm. There was an issue with the cleaning. There was hair in the bath and the wall mirror in the bedroom was dirty. The curtains were dirty. I used the pedal bin in the bathroom and the lid fell off missing my foot. The pedal bin lid was broken. The white towels were thick and clean, but one of my towels was torn. There was ample parking. The room was very quiet. There was a little noise with returning guests but no external traffic noise.

Beautiful inn with a pub/restraunt attached. My best meal in the UK so far! The room is maybe the cleanest rented room I have ever been in! So unique and comfortable. 5 stars, i cant recommend enough

The pub is beautiful and the hotel is really pleasant. The staff are really helpful and friendly too. Little disappointed by the makeup stains in the bathroom, but that’s previous guests that have let the place down. The main meals are all excellent, though the deserts and breakfast were good, they weren’t in the same league as the mains! Would definitely recommend

The good points: *Very friendly and helpful staff. *Nicely furnished *Clean *Good beer Not so good points: *when we booked we assumed breakfast was included - £125 in a *** hotel, you would expect breakfast. It wasn't made particularly clear on the booking, we certainly didn't see it anyway. *Quite a loud party was going on in the function room and spilt out into the outside via, I assume, a side door where it sound like there was some kind of altercation going on... shouting and inappropriate language at least. This was going on right outside our window. * We both fancied hot chocolate before going to bed but there was only one. I did go into the reception and loitered around for a bit to see if I could spot anybody but was unsuccessful.

Nice rooms well appointed. Dinner & drinks in the bar were very good. Breakfast also very nice. Would happily stay again when in the area. Only pain was the high level of detail needed to access free wifi, need alot of info which will go to marketing dept. & i will likely niw be showered with offers from Greene King i dont want.

Everything was excellent and the room was lovely apart from one member of staff in the restaurant who didn’t seem like she was interested or could be bothered with the job. When one of us ordered the mixed grill in the restaurant she asked how we wanted it and then we had to find out what she meant and finally she said it was the steak, rather than just asking how we wanted the steak cooked. Also as a separate note we asked what beers you had on draught and were asked if we meant beer or lager but the correct question would be ale or lager as lager is also beer.

Overall a nice place, just been refurbished. Check in needs streamlining and is very slow. one of the house keeping team is very loud in the mornings. Would stop again.

Stayed here when visiting our daughter in Sheffield. Whilst you need a car to get in and out of the city, I can really recommend this hotel. Good value, quiet and comfortable. Nice decor, great food an service.

Early customer appts in Sheffield meant either a 4am start from home or an overnight stay near the customers. Opted for the later. Easy to find, clean, comfortable, good food and service and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel seems to be an extended old pub. The interior is well decorated and the bedrooms are quite spacious with pleasant decor. The bathroom has an efficient shower over the bath. Though pleasaant, the bar was quiet and a bit boring. Breakfast, which was waiter service, was poor and the portions a bit stingey - the rostis on day 1 were burnt and inedible and the food was barely warm: while on day 2 they had no baked beans and the veggie sausages were rock hard. Needless to say we did not have dinner there on either evening!

Refurbished room ( from last year ) was excellent. Good bathroom facilities although the bathtub / shower needs a wall mounted handrail to assist elderly/disabled guests to get in and out. Breakfast/dinner offered a wide choice and the food was first class.
