Stayed 2 nights

Have stayed 3 times at the Cherry Tree as it is convenient to visit our son and his family. Previously we met the owner and staff and able to feel confident should any problems arise. This time the only communication we had was via phone on booking in. The room was fine but there was no hairdryer and you needed a shower mat for the walk in shower unit. It was slippy and not ideal for a senior person. Tried to call but there was no one available. We stayed for two nights and there was no room service for the second day consequently no bottle water or top up of tea or coffee.

Good for the price. I arrived late at night and the staff were very helpful and responsive regarding this.

Room basically clean, big towel was NOT clean!! No evening meal facility, breakfast not included in booking cost, even thoughtwo of our party seemed to have paid for it at the booking stage. Staff in morning very adamant that it was NOT included, no real customer service support. If you want a basic bed and breakfast stop, then other than a dirty towel and a wad of dirty waste blue roll from room servicing left in the toilet/shower room, it was passable. For a business traveller, it is not a venue I could ever recommend. For a mid week booking (obviously business travellers) give this one a wide berth.

The room itself was great, with adequate parking. The problem with the room, as is the case for most budget hotels in the UK is that there was no AC, and in the hottest day of the year, even with the fan, the room didn’t drop below 36 degrees - all night.
