A comfy conference center hotel out in the countryside. The land around the hotel is picturesque. You pass through a small village to get to the place. The front walk from the parking lot was ice covered and could be risky if you have mobility concerns. The hot tub was a disappointment, there is no direct access to the showers for it from the lobby and it was low on water. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Everything was very nice. The restaurant was very good. There was only 1 hot tub working, and the temperature wasn’t too warm, stayed at 32, so that could have been warmer.

Easy parking, comfortable bed and pillows. We enjoyed the hot tubs outside. We were given robes to use. We had a delightful meals at restaurant having cod, lamb burger, creme brulee, bakki special, wine and a beer. The service was superb.

Reception was friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. We had dinner in their restaurant. We ordered the beef tenderloin with broccoli, mushrooms in a Dijon mustard sauce, a beet root purée and baby potatoes. It was delicious! The breakfast buffet was good with a variety of items offered. We used the out door hot tubs and found the water temperature to be satisfactory. Very nice after a day of driving.

The hotel is in the middle of nowhere but we booked for a night on our way somewhere else, so that was fine. It looks really bad from outside but a bit better when you come in. They have 3 hot tubs outside so that's noce. We got a room upgrade but not sure if that was really good because the room was a bit bigger and never got warm from the radiator which was really hot. The room had big windows but you could only open two tiny 10c20cm ones. That was not enough to get some air in and as the room was cold, it got really humid very fast. By the morning all the windows had huge condensations and none of the towels dried. The bathroom window was completely wet from inside all the time. The room was also not properly cleaned. The floor was disgusting and we had some bread crumbs in our robes. Personal was okay, some better, some worse. We paid for the dinner but the next morning we were asked if we have to pay again. Common you must see it's paid. When I said that we paid already, she responded: oh okay. The dinner was actually quite good, we had a lamb burger from locally sources lamb! Breakfast was also very nice, there was a lot of choice and it was tasty and fresh.

The restaurant was fantastic and the hotel was perfect for a one night stay. Our room was a little on the small side and could have been a little cleaner. The outside of the hotel and grounds could use a little work, but other than that it was fine.

The hotel has been recently renovated and is very clean and modern. The rooms and bathrooms are excellent, though the bathroom lacks a fan. The food was amazing, with superb breakfast and dinner options. There is ample parking available, and the staff were exceptional throughout my stay.

The bath room had bad smell of stinking, it impacted to our sleep. We reported at the front desk and asked for compensation. The front desk lady agreed to report to the hotel manager and will let us know the solution. But we did not hear any response after back home. Then we called Orbitz and Orbitz called hotel, and said we should heard the solution within 24 to 72 hours, while after 96 hours we still do not hear any response. The hotel bath room needs to be remodel. The hotel manager should response us for the compensation and Orbitz should let us know about the follow-up statues. Hotel rejected to provide any compensation for the bad smell of stinking in the bath room and its impacts to our stay (poor quality). I will not recommend this hotel to any visitor due to they keep telling the truth.

Hotel is in remote location, but doesn’t take advantage of that by giving nice views of the unique landscape. Most rooms just overlook the parking lot. The 4 hot tubs could be an amazing feature if they looked out at the landscape rather than a wooden fence.

We stayed at Hotel Laugerbakki May 19th while driving the Iceland ring road. Though initially somewhat forbidding and institutional looking due to its large size perched alone in the fields next to a river, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. It is airy and open inside, with multiple conference rooms and overflow dining areas, a gym, and an outside fenced-off deck with 3 large hot tubs. The rooms were of good size with large bathrooms and better ventilation than many places we stayed (during an Iceland heat wave!). The staff was marvelous, each employee in a crisp black uniform, smiling, attentive, and helpful. I can't say enough about the restaurant (Bakki). The staff was so well trained and courteous I asked our waitress how this could be? We were, after all, pretty much a captive audience. Everyone is trained by the chef and they have pre-dinner group meetings to make sure they all have their assignments and know the plan. It shows. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was a lavish spread, everything one could wish for was laid out. I'd go out of my way to eat here again and my spouse mentioned that she'd wished we had a reason to stay another night.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. Plenty of parking and kind staff. There is a restaurant as well that serves complimentary breakfast. You have the option to have dinner there as well. Plenty of variety. Rooms are spacious including a tv, small table, shower, etc. Rooms were excellent. Very close drive to Hvammanstangi to see the seals! Thanks so much!

The service that me and my colleagues received by staff-member Gyða and restaurant Chef Rúnar Þór was out of this world... we arrived late at night but Gyða had asked the Chef to keep the kitchen open and we got a fantastic meal upon arrival. All the dishes we tried were excellent, and the seafood soup was extraordinary!

We stayed at Hotel Laugerbakki May 19th while driving the Iceland ring road. Though initially somewhat forbidding and institutional looking due to its large size perched alone in the fields next to a river, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. It is airy and open inside, with multiple conference rooms and overflow dining areas, a gym, and an outside fenced-off deck with 3 large hot tubs. The rooms were of good size with large bathrooms and better ventilation than many places we stayed (during an Iceland heat wave!). The staff was marvelous, each employee in a crisp black uniform, smiling, attentive, and helpful. I can't say enough about the restaurant (Bakki). The staff was so well trained and courteous I asked our waitress how this could be? We were, after all, pretty much a captive audience. Everyone is trained by the chef and they have pre-dinner group meetings to make sure they all have their assignments and know the plan. It shows. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast was a lavish spread, everything one could wish for was laid out. I'd go out of my way to eat here again and my spouse mentioned that she'd wished we had a reason to stay another night.

This hotel is very convenient for a stop between two bigger towns that can be just too long of a drive in one day. There is dining there for all meals. They have hot tubs which were nice and warm, especially for the FREEZING cold day we were there. Rooms are good size. Food was really good. Perfect spot to see northern lights if it's a good night for it.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, which is OK. But you really have to search for this place. There’s a very nice breakfast buffet which is included. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are roomy. The outlet underneath the nightstand is a little bit inconvenient if you have to plug something in there. Which most people do.

Great location just off the ring road, Friendly and helpful staff. Dinner (lamb burgers) were good and breakfast had the best options we have had so far over nine days. Room was a good size and robes were provided if you wanted to use the hot tub. However, the shower pressure was weak, at least in our second floor room, and the hand held shower head wouldn't stay up in its holder (for those not wanting a rain fall shower over their head), also towels were fraying and not soft, disappointing for the price paid.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location. Plenty of parking and kind staff. There is a restaurant as well that serves complimentary breakfast. You have the option to have dinner there as well. Plenty of variety. Rooms are spacious including a tv, small table, shower, etc. Rooms were excellent. Very close drive to Hvammanstangi to see the seals! Thanks so much!

The hotel is easy to access from the main highway. The room was clean and everything looked quite new. The restaurant was decent, breakfast included was always a good thing, because there was a small town and not a lot to choose from.

There’s not much going on in the area and it might be the only location you can get a decent sit down meal. By all saying that, food in the restaurant is high quality. We stopped here after our first day on the ring road. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Dinner was great. They had decent vegan options that we enjoyed including dessert. The jacuzzi was great even though it was -10 degrees outside. We slept great and didn’t hear other guests. Breakfast was good as well and had many vegan options.

This is a lovely hotel. We had a large room, tall shower (important for my 6'5" husband), and nice amenities. There's an absolutely delicious restaurant on-site, which we still talk about, and breakfast had waffles (also important for my husband). The staff was really friendly, too. We're already talking about finding our way back on our next trip to Iceland for the food if nothing else!

Cleaning staff entered our room while we were in it without knocking or alerting us. They don’t seem to be trained in this. Also the food is mediocre. Being in the middle of nowhere you’re stuck eating the food that the hotel offers. Breakfast is lacking in flavor. Dinner food is very salty. If you’re driving the ring road just do yourself a favour and skip this region
