Overall, this place is in poor condition, is poorly run, and is NOT what it advertises to be. Be very cautious about staying here. Definitely the WORST hotel experience I have ever had. When I arrived at the motel at 1 am due to a canceled flight, I was assigned to a room with no working air-conditioning. It was a hot summer night, and the room smelled bad and was stuffy. When I asked for another room, the hotel clerk assigned me to yet another room in the same condition. When I returned yet again asking why the rooms didn't have air-conditioning as advertised, he said that they were supposed to but that he wasn't a maintenance person, so he didn't know which rooms had working air-conditioning. He offered a refund, but I was exhausted and insisted on getting a room that was as advertised. The THIRD room did have working air-conditioning but smelled strange and had a toilet plunger left out by the toilet. Also note that the free shuttle to and from the airport runs only between 5 am to 11 pm, can take only 5 people, runs only ONCE an hour, and leaves 10 minutes before the hour. NONE of this is clearly communicated. At 5 am, the shuttle that I took did NOT have enough room for everyone. The driver didn't show up, so the hotel clerk shut down the office (with no note about leaving for guests) to take us 5 to the airport. Very, very disappointing place. Stay elsewhere!

Air conditioning was not working but at midnight, what can you do? Had to call hotel to get them to send the shuttle from the airport. Found out when I checked in that there was no shuttle service back to the airport (driver “sick”). Had to pay for a cab to get back to the airport. I had to initial a form saying I would not smoke in the room. When I went into my room it smelled like an ashtray. So much for non-smoking room. Would never stay in this motel again and don’t recommend it to anyone else.

This property advertises 24 hour shuttle service but they actually only run the shuttle from 7am to 11pm. This may be a mix up on Expedia's end. My mother was flying thru Charlotte to come help my sister after she had hip surgery and was delayed in Charlotte. We found a hotel on Expedia for $89 that we thought had 24hr shuttle service (her flight canceled at 11pm) I had to back out of the reservation at one point and then the price jumped up to $125 for the room. We went ahead and booked it but my mother had to pay for a taxi to the hotel. So after a trying day of flight delays (weather related) and with a major surgery looming we had to pay an extra $50 for a one night stay. I'm very displeased with Expedia over this whole transaction. The same room the next day was only $74. I would like to be reimbursed the extra expense. I feel like Expedia was taking advantage of people in a predicament. Additionally there was a dead roach in the hotel room. My mother says other than that hotel was clean and staff nice. But I'm not happy with Expedia.

We booked a night at this Red Roof specifically so we could stay close to the airport for a connecting flight in the morning. It says explicitly in the Expedia description that they offer a free airport shuttle 24/7. We called upon arrival for a pick up and were told that the shuttle didn't run in the evenings, so we had to pay for an Uber. ($14) Once we got to the hotel, we requested the shuttle for 5:30 am for our 7am connecting flight. We were told the shuttle isn't available until 7am. We would have to pay for a second Uber. ($14) The hotel staff then informed us that our specific reserved room was not available. We had paid for the room in full, in advance and I had called the hotel earlier to say our flight was delayed, so we didn't understand how this was possible. The desk clerk tried to upsell us to a different room, which we firmly refused. The room was very worn, with damaged surfaces and a broken and leaking toilet, but we felt we had no better option at that hour. Very disappointing.

Thought I'd do a day a trip before I flew out next day. Walked Only a few feet, presents of homeless, crack heads. So thought I'd do my washing instead, was told had to go across busy road to gas station for quarters. Laundry was nothing but disgusting. Doesn't look like ever been cleaned. Had to walk past homeless sitting under steps. People yelling talking loud in carpark behind my room Basketball played in court yard all day and still at 10.30pm at night. Not worth the cheap rate. The worst hotel I've stayed in, since my 7 weeks of traveling. Wasted a day of sightseeing hiding in my room. Do not recommend staying here and if you do, don't leave your room at night . Reception didn't care..She sat on her phone not even acknowledging me.

Looked like homeless people living there and some of the rooms had people that looked like they lived there . Now they are remodeling and trying to fix it up so I’m hoping it gets better because red roof inn are nice and dependable.

Dirty, lousy mattress, mold in restroom on the ceiling, trash all outside of the rooms, bugs. I couldn't drive anywhere else I was so tired I was delirious that's the only reason why I stayed.

This place is horrible. Stains of blood and dirt in the most noticeable places. Big gap under the door which lets bugs crawl in, not to mention a big spider crawled on the bed and is somewhere in the room. No kettle - in the office there is water labeled ‘hot’ but it’s literally room temperature.

Got up at 4am to check out and there was a pretty big cockroach on the wall. The desk clerk asked how everything was and I told him about the bug. He said it was probably due to the remodeling going on in the motel and they would probably need to spray. I would not stay there again .

Never book here unless you’re running from the police! We reserved 2 rooms and both rooms were consumed with roaches. They were all over the beds furniture and bathrooms. We immediately asked for a refund and left the premises. Both rooms also smelled of heavy smoke even though we had to pay a deposit for a smoke free room. This honestly was the worse experience I’ve ever had a a hotel. When I went to the front desk I found that multiple other people were in line complaining about the same issues. This hotel should not be in business

The motel looks a little rough on the outside but the room was newly remodeled, very clean and modern. You can tell they’re doing a lot of work on the grounds too, so I’m sure eventually this place will be even better. I think it was great for the price. Every staff member we interacted with was very polite and helpful. It seems like a family owns the property and most of them work there. Front desk guy went above and beyond for me when I checked in. My only true complaint was the air unit in our room was did not blow cold air, only room temp fan air. We didn’t spend that much time in our rooms during our weekend stay so it was tolerable. But I did notify the desk upon checkout and he said he would let the appropriate person know. Also, the planes landing at Charlotte AP fly a bit low above the motel. I thought it was really cool to witness each time but I can see how some ppl might find the jet engine noise a bothersome at times. It did not affect my stay, personally. I would stay here again.

1 night stay king room -Check- in 7:30 PM .The room main door latch was not closing . The bed side lamps were not working . There was a regular deafening machine noise . No chance of sleep. Checking out in early morning at 5:30 AM - Worst part the property management was aware of the condition when gave feedback yet assigned it to a guest with full payment .

I booked very last minute when I could not board a flight. The area was close to the airport and quiet and fairly safe. I stayed with my adult daughter and felt safe during our stay. The office staff was great and very efficient. The air conditioning worked great, and the bed was super comfy too to allow a good nights sleep.

I paid for the stay and I ever made it past the lobby. The gentleman running the desk was very rude and unprofessional. Their credit card readers wouldn’t work, he accused me of using bad cards. I tried both my work credit card and my personal debit card and he told me I had to find another form of payment for the incidentals. I told him I had no other options. He said he couldn’t help me in anyway. I left. Went to another hotel down the road and my cards worked fine. Had to pay for a hotel twice.

My flight was cancelled and I was so grateful for how easy it was to book a room and how quickly the shuttle arrived to pick me up. Compared to the price of nearby hotels, this was a bargain for exactly what I needed. Everyone was very helpful and courteous.

After being stranded at 2 in the morning by American Airlines, I was forced to make my own arrangements for a place to sleep. I mistakenly reserved rooms for later that night instead of at that moment. The front desk agent was able to fix the problem so that I didn’t have to choose between paying double or sleeping on an airport floor. Thank you so much!

Booked hotel after midnight sent my daughter there to spend the night after a delayed flight and she arrived they said they couldn’t find a reservation after midnight, she had to pay a second time!!! Spent two days trying to get a refund after no avail. BS!! Never again, paid for a crap room twice !!! Don’t recommend ever!!!!

This place is not a safe area. Homeless people everywhere. They have spotlights for a reason. The property was filthy on the outside. The room itself was clean. It is very loud with the airplanes flying over you all night. If you are desperate and have no where else to stay it’s a cheap option for one night, but just be very careful. I bought a lady some food on my walk across the street to the food lion. She was digging in the clothing bin for some clothes. She said she had been staying at the red roof and she got knocked over the head and her purse was stolen. She even had a cut on her head and everything. If you are a female I definitely wouldn’t stay at this place. And if you decide to def bring your pepper spray and gun if you have one.

Hotel was needed due to missed connection at Charlotte airport. Room itself was clean. All around the hotel is awful. Half of the hotel is closed up and partly torn down.. There was no hair dryer. I would never stay there again.

Thought I'd do a day a trip before I flew out next day. Walked Only a few feet, presents of homeless, crack heads. So thought I'd do my washing instead, was told had to go across busy road to gas station for quarters. Laundry was nothing but disgusting. Doesn't look like ever been cleaned. Had to walk past homeless sitting under steps. People yelling talking loud in carpark behind my room Basketball played in court yard all day and still at 10.30pm at night. Not worth the cheap rate. The worst hotel I've stayed in, since my 7 weeks of traveling. Wasted a day of sightseeing hiding in my room. Do not recommend staying here and if you do, don't leave your room at night . Reception didn't care..She sat on her phone not even acknowledging me.

The bathtub was full of debris, hair and other filthy things...the door lock was broken, it was the worse experience ever!!!! We didn't change hotel because it was midnight, no breakfast was provided, not even coffee!!!

Door to room would not shut from inside. Had to put a rope around handle to pull outside handle down to close door inside. The rub was literally flaking off paint. The celing looks like it has been repaired multiple times due to a leaky roof. Room smelled like stale cigarettes and beef. Wanted to stay longer as my kid got sick and they would not help at front desk, had to go online to book same room.
