We had a fairly good stay at the Thon Hotel Panorama, but it was not without its problems. The room was nice and clean, but not configured in a safe way. The room was very narrow in many parts where one could bang their toes simply trying to get around the bed into the couch area. But, the biggest hazard was the step up into the bathroom, which has no light at night. My wife tripped on the large up step going into the bathroom in the middle of the night, falling, and hurting herself to the point we had to visit the Emergency Room in Oslo. This large step up to the bathroom is something to be aware of, especially for anyone with any mobility issues. Additionally, we had poor customer service at the hotel bar. We ordered a beer, and the beer did not taste good. We attempted to return the beer, and get another. The lady manning the bar charged us for the additional beer, and stated that “ in Norway you cannot return a beer that tastes bad,” in not so many words. We found this to be poor customer service. The hotel was centrally located, overall was nice, and had a good breakfast. We would recommend this hotel for your stay, provided you are very careful when walking around the room, and do not have any mobility issues.
