It would have been nice to have had the heating on when we arrived but appreciate that we’d recently had a change in weather. Bar has wide selection of drinks and food is excellent. This is certainly not a place you will stumble across on your way to somewhere else, but it's certainly worth a visit. A great boutique hotel with comfortable and interesting rooms. Great surroundings and wonderful view across the Wirral. A menu which is significantly more interesting than the standard 'pub menu'. The prawn pil pil was particularly tasty. And if you're into non-meat meals, the pithivier is well worth a try. Very tasty breakfast too. We'll definitely be back!

Stayed here in November 2023 and the only issue then was the plug release in the bath was broken. We stayed again in the same room September 2024 and they have still not fixed the plug release I had to get a teaspoon and pry it open!! Apart from that the food is fantastic and service brilliant. Sad to see the Candal factory has gone under after 50 years. We will be back might try a different room next time.

This is an amazing place. Parking was plentiful. Rooms are beautiful. The setting is lovely. We had a very peaceful nights sleep and the breakfast was ample and delicious. I would absolutely recommend this place. Can’t wait to visit again.

Lovely setting and all the staff were very helpful. The rooms are fantastic and the quality of the furnishings is high. Had breakfast which was served quickly and of very f=good quality. Will defiantly be back again for a weekend stay not work as this was. Fully recommend booking this place.

Stayed here to get to The Open at Hoylake. A beautiful charming country hotel in stunning surrounding area. Lovely views, quiet away from it all but easy and not far to get to Chester. Had breakfast and dinner and both were delicious. Super happy to have found this little gem will definitely revisit.
