Stayed 2 nights

Bedding was clean, room was clearly old - flaking paper, damp marks, wonky fittings, including the base of a kettle stuck to a table with the plug cut off. Hotel has no lifts, I believe it is a listed building and therefore hard for them to install. Staircases are not well kept, lumpy, overhanging steps in places, dips in others. Hotel has an extraordinary number of stair cases, to get to my room I had to traverse more than 6, some up, some down. I had previously requested a room with as few stairs as possible to get to as I travel with heavy work equipment. I was supplied with 2 small sachets of coffee for a 2 night stay. The TV worked, I was able to open the window. There was a broken fan on the floor of the wardrobe. It felt safe, the town is very pretty, staff were friendly.

The worst place I’ve ever stayed. Painting coming off the walls, uneven and creaking floors, carpets that look like they’ve never been changed or cleaned properly. I know the pricing is affordable, but we booked for 2 nights and only stayed for 1 due to how poor it was. If it’s somewhere to stay after a big night out then okay, but other than that I would entirely avoid.

Nice room. Dressing table position a bit close to bed so easy to catch yourself trying to pass by, spacious bathroom

Good: breakfast, breakfast staff, location in town centre. Bad: check-in staff, bedrooms in terrible condition (cracked tiles, peeling paint, exposed pipes in bedroom floor)

Friendly staff. Lots of stairs. Very noisy room, loud fans running outside the window from 6.30am to 9.30pm, loud music in the evenings (but not too late into the night). I imagine other rooms were better than mine as I was unlucky to get the one with fans outside of all windows
