Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle South Tukwila

Staff was very helpfull. The room was large and clean. It is an older facility that needs some maintenance in outdoor areas.

The property is tired.

Not horrible but definitely lacking in a few areas. First I noticed our room was almost 80 degrees when we arrived. We had tickets to a game so we were just dropping out stuff off and headed out. I turned the A/c down before we left. Came back several hours later and the room was the same temp. I noticed they had put a motion detector on the thermostat so it only works when the room is occupied. Stupid and I lost us a decent nights sleep. Also got charged for parking even though I told the guy at check in I did not have a car. I’m guessing they do this to everyone 😡

Fireplaces are amazing. Only downside is that you cannot get fire logs from the property. You have to go get them. Shopping is nearby but after 5 days of travel it was frustrating to have to leave the property to enjoy one of its amenities. Kitchen was equipped okay. I requested a toaster from front desk for burn my units and it was provided immediately. They share the paekerlot with a very nice mailings 7-11. This was beyond convenient! Laundry uses your debit card so no need need for quarters. Properly extremely well maintained and very lovely. Gym extremely small but has 1 treadmill. However the hotel is 3 blocks from nice river and walking paths to an amazing outdoor shopping area Edith at front desk is always super helpful. I was here for business and she made my life so easy. Kudos!! I will come back im October with my high profile client again!’ Note: 10 mins from airport. $27 over or &20 for cab.

Your hotel says no smoking in the rooms, but I became ill in my room, because of someone in the past smoking in the room. The air conditioner unit was poorly working, and the bed was too hard. I had to go to the mall and buy a top pad for comfort. Overall, everything was OK. Also, people leave their clothing in the laundry room, making others wait until remove their items. I had to call several times to the front desk.

I liked that there was a Security Guard on staff overnight. I was concerned about staying in Tukwila, but I liked it for its convenient location. Service was amazing. Room was clean and spacious. Free breakfast was fantastic and it varied from day to day. Great staff working here!

Overgrown brushes in walkway. Stairs dorty and in disrepair. Staff excellent, stay excellent, breakfast was fairly good. Need eggs in am. None today.

This property was not up to the standards of a Marriott brand. Our bed was super hard. The shower head sprayed water every where. There was no shower chair per the picture for an accessible room. We found spider webs hanging from the ceiling and the bathroom sink drained slow. Pool skimmers did not seem to be working so the two times we went to the pool their were a lot of debris and bugs floating in the pool. The one breakfast we did have on property was ok and the lady working it was great.

For the money it was a good deal. Property needs updating to paint and walkways but the rooms were clean, updated and nice.

Our stay was great! The bed was comfy, it was super quiet, and very clean!

Exterior is less than inviting. Room smelled like smoke. I use a c-pap but not last night. Of else i would be smelling for a week every night.

You could tell the rooms were tired and overly used. The room I stayed had a slight cigarette smell and kind of musty smell as well. It was mostly clean. Found a couple things on the floor including dead spiders. Seemed maybe the room we stayed in had not been used for awhile. Was spacious and the bed wasn’t horrible. I’ve read the place wasn’t quiet but there was no loud noises outside our room.

There were ants in the room. There was mold in the room and rust and it smelled aweful. I couldnt stay there

My room was dirty, dried blood and dirt on curtains, on the tub, dishes were dirty. It smelled of mildew and old wet dog. Found ants in my bed night 2

This property was an absolute nightmare. I chatted with Expedia the moment we checked in because the room was atrocious. The bed was broken, the floor uneven, a small floor AC unit was duct taped to the window, and the room was dark and musty. The expedia agent tried to call the hotel but could do nothing because the hotel manager was not working that day. After a rude hotel employee “helped us,” it was just a nightmare. They wouldn't let us cancel so they moved us to another room that was only slightly better. Please take this hotel off of your offerings. I book a lot of trips through you guys but this was unacceptable. Any assistance or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Warmly, Alanna

The bed was a little soft for my taste, but I slept comfortably. While there were a few areas that needed maintenance, the suite was well furnished with a complete kitchen and good TV reception. I was surprised to find that the fireplace was wood burning and the sofa was a bit uncomfortable. Service was excellent the the front desk were very responsive.

This hotel is wonderfully setup for family trips, full kitchen, decent fridge and well situated sitting areas.

Great breakfast and overall ok hotel. Stay on the top floor because the bottom was noisy.

The Residence Inn/Tukwila was the perfect place for our visit to Seattle. The room was spacious, with all the amenities of home. The perfect place for us on the back-end of our visit to Olympic National Park, and relatively convenient to all the sites we planned to see in Seattle. Would definitely recommend this property for your next visit to Seattle.

Good space with two bed room loft kitchen option

Staff was super nice, cordial and helpful. The bed was too hard for me and my wife. Ouch. Shower was in need of some renovation. We had a ground flood unit with a unit above. We could hear every move they made when they walked accross the floor. Woke us up one night. Kitchen area was clean and well supplied. Overall neighborhood seemed a little sketchy. Breakfast was really good. It seemed like costs are being cut as the towels were a little small, toilet paper was very thin and cheap. Propery outside was very well maintened and other furnishings were good.

The staff seemed poorly trained. I had a visit by housekeeping once, about 5 days into an 8 day stay. I was just getting out of the shower and couldn't open the door. They didn't return later that day or anytime during the stay. The room had 5 hangers for 2 closets: really cheap. The front desk staff couldn't answer some simple questions about the hotel. I found out at checkout that my last name was wrong in the system, despite showing credit card and drivers license on check-in and being correct on the reservation confirmation. The hot food in the restaurant is substandard with the scrambled eggs being inedible. I tried them on 3 different mornings. The good news: all the staff were exceedingly polite, hospitable, and tried to do the right things. A little bit of a superior attitude from a couple of them, but that's true at most hotels.

After a 12-hour flight, I was shocked by how rudely I was treated by Nikki Chapilliquen, the Assistant General Manager. Despite having a confirmed reservation, she told me they were fully sold out and made no effort to verify my booking. Only after I insisted did she start backpedaling—yet still offered no help, no courtesy, and no empathy, even as I stood there with my 9-year-old son. More disturbingly, she made hostile remarks about another group of Asian guests and seemed to lump me in with them based solely on appearance. Even after I clarified I wasn’t with them, she remained combative and cold. When I later called from outside—where she couldn’t see me—a different staff member immediately found my reservation and got me a room. That says it all. Nikki repeatedly threw around her title in an intimidating way, and even circled our room later in her vehicle, which made my son and me feel watched and deeply uncomfortable. Every other staff member was kind and professional. Nikki Chapilliquen was the outlier—and a glaring one. Management should seriously evaluate whether she is fit to represent this property.

I would rate this hotel a 3 star as advertised on Hotels.com. The room was clean and spacious and well laid out with the kitchen. So good price for what you get. The breakfast was fine, typical hotel breakfast. The only complaint I had was the clerk who checked me in (I was late 11:00PM) made me feel like I was really making it a problem for him. The key to my room didn\'t work and he sort of threatened me if I couldn\'t make it work there were no other rooms. He told me to "put more effort into it". Thankfully got it to work and my wife wasn\'t with me. For that reason I would not not use this hotel again.

Made a reservation but the room wasn't available, they said they'd cancel when I called to verify the room but I got charged anyway

Jeremy the manager, Sassy kitchen staff and April front dek clerk were very professional and supported us in everyway possible. We will definitely stay here again. No complaints

We stayed @ Residence Inn by Marriott in Tukwila, Washington for 3 months while our Seattle home recovered from a flood. We got to experience the everyday operations and came to know the employees by name in the various hotel departments (Administrative, Housekeeping, Maintenance etc.). They are all family-oriented here and friendly. We so appreciated this and it really made our stay comfortable.

2 night stay. The staff was great. The front desk and the breakfast staff were very friendly and did an excellent job.

The staff were wonderful—very polite and attentive. There was a minor issue with the shower draining slowly, but they came right away to fix it. The only downside was a slight smell of marijuana in the room. Aside from that, my stay was amazing. The room was clean, breakfast was top-tier, and overall I had a great experience.

Easy access off of highway, right by south center mall

Nice people. Quarter mile walk to huge mall and Cheesecake Factory as well as Olive Garden. Bus service outside of hotel

The hotel room itself was fine. However, the location of the hotel, the door lock function, and general access to the parking lot felt very unsafe. The door deadbolt did not work - and in fact in the morning, I realized that the door wasnt locked at all - so anyone could have just walked in. It felt like this hotel was an apartment complex that was converted to a hotel.

First room I was given reeked of smoke. The front desk was very polite and gave me another room. It is in a very unsafe neighborhood.

The rooms had everything you could need. The hotel was safe and calm. It was a good walk from the Southcenter mall. Def recommend.

It was close to the mall and public transportation. Made it easy to go to places without driving.

Our stay was great. The breakfast each day was excellent; however, there was no excuse to have run out of napkins (put roll of paper towels out) and no forks. I love eating scrambled eggs and sausage with a spoon. For goodness sake, the 711 was next door and I am sure they had napkins and plastic forks available. Poor management!
