Good independent hotel in great location. VFM. Trays provided for muddy boots is thoughtful. Not so great for people who dislike dogs, especially in Restaurants, but judging by numbers of guests with canines in tow, the hotel has to provide for this.

Amazing views from restaurant. Bar slightly unusual to have a shop at one side. It didn’t feel overly cozy. Room was comfortable and in good condition. Big choice and selection in menu for dinner in restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner but we’d had more enjoyable meals in smaller venues. The hotel was busy at dinner time. The staff were always polite and professional. Overall it was a nice stay,but had an atmosphere that meant I didn’t really feel relaxed somehow.

This hotel had everything we wanted, a great location, a nice modern room, a beautiful view, lovely food and great staff. We stayed on the ground floor of the lodges and really enjoyed our time here. We enjoyed going down to the water and we even went swimming from the beach. From everywhere you get a fantastic view and the hotel is well designed to make the most of it. The food was one of our favourite things dinner and breakfast were a highlight.
This hotel had everything we wanted, a great location, a nice modern room, a beautiful view, lovely food and great staff. We stayed on the ground floor of the lodges and really enjoyed our time here. We enjoyed going down to the water and we even went swimming from the beach. From everywhere you get a fantastic view and the hotel is well designed to make the most of it. The food was one of our favourite things dinner and breakfast were a highlight.

Third time staying here. It’s a lovely place, all the staff are fantastic (there’s a lovely girl originally from Falkirk that was a good laugh and had great banter), the food is amazing (pay extra for the dinner package as the value is exceptional), the rooms are spacious and the beds are huge, the views are superb and the wildlife is right up close and personal. My two gripes would be the service charges (just add a few pence to the drinks, the food or the room) and the lack of international lager on tap, the Loch Melfort lager (just call it Tennents) is passable but something else would have suited me personally, the other half had the choice of about 30 gins and she was chuffed to bit so I was happy. Neither of these will stop us returning and we’ll be back soon. Thank you to all the staff, the owners should be extremely proud.

We stayed for 2 nights. On arrival, the reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We went to our room which was a king-size sea view. The view is even better than any picture will have you believe. Breathtaking. Loved having a little balcony with comfortable chairs and just enjoying the view and silence. The room was spotless. On the 2nd day, the cleaners chapped the door and asked if we wanted anything cleaned or if any of the tea/coffee/teacakes needed replenished. This was a nice thing to do. The bed was massive and comfortable. The bedding itself was a great quality. The shower was always hot and a good power too. Great shampoos etc in the room to try. The grounds are well cared for and we enjoyed walks by the highland cows and down to the seafront. The meals were all great. Portions are huge. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was one of the best i’ve ever had and locally sourced. Reception staff also gave some advice for a place to go a nice walk and we enjoyed a day out in Kilmartin as a result. My wife and I stayed in the Loch Melfort Hotel Romantic Studio Suite. It was a spacious room with beautiful view of the Loch. The room was immaculate, warm, quiet, and nicely decorated. The hotel staff was polite, knowledgeable and very professional. We enjoyed a hike to the Loch and around the accessible Arduaine Estate Gardens. We had an excellent and elegant dinner and a perfectly prepared breakfast to follow in the morning. We highly recommend!

Lovely hotel, the view really makes it. Doesnt look like much when you drive up but the view on the other side is beautiful. Only odd thing was the water in the bathroom runs a tea colour. Although its clean... makes for an odd bath. Food in the restaurant was lovely. We liked that you can mix and match from main and bistro menu.

What a view from the panorama windows in the restaurant! We had a lovely meal and the food was impressive. Enjoying the view during our meal and the green surroundings outside of the the hotel. It was so idyllic. The building is old, but the rooms are still clean and comfortable. I will definitely return!

Amazing room, with amazing views! We stayed in the sea view lodge that overlooked the loch and had highland cows right outside. The food was amazing, both myself and partner had the chicken balmoral, it was the best chicken balmoral I’ve ever had. Breakfast was excellent also. Overall great night away and would definitely stay again, worth every penny and probably more.

Das Hotel liegt wunderbar am Loch Melfort. Zu den Highlights gehört noch das Essen, dessen Preis auch für schottische Verhältnisse eher gehoben ist. Das Hotel selbst ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten ein Superiorzimmer mit Meerblick im Anbau gebucht. Bauweise des Anbaus und Ausstattung des Zimmers sind als eher einfach zu bezeichnen. Insgesamt waren wir angesichts der hervorragenden Bewertung für das Hotel doch ziemlich enttäuscht.

The staff were very good and really friendly , the food was very nice. The hotel clean and comfortable , the down side was our bedroom was above the bar and I am all for having a good time but not to the detriment of other guests. We were woken up by a very loud group in the bar. Which carried on for an hour or so. Made it impossible to sleep.

My wife, myself amd our 7 month old (along with our dog) went up for a list minute 2 night stay and we could not have wished for a better stay. Room was lovely and big along with a freat view across the bay. The staff were amazing with us and our wee boy. Food was excellent. It was our 1st visit but it will not be our last

The hotel enjoys a very pleasant location and is run in an exemplary manner. The restaurant provides imaginative and excellent cuisine. The staff were all extremely pleasant, courteous and professional. We enjoyed our stay at Loch Melfort Hotel - many thanks for making it so good!

Hands down my favorite hotel during my trip. On the day of my check-in, I made dinner reservations and unfortunately I ran into car trouble so I was going to miss dinner hours by 20 minutes. Immediately when I got to check in, they offered to make me a plate even though the kitchen was closed. 10/10 hotel! I’ll be visiting again

This was part of a two stage trip and after a 6 hour drive we entered the pleasant good sized car park. The room we were given was very nice and a decent size. The meals were excellent and brought to us in good time, including a ver good breakfast. Best of all were the staff who were pleasant and efficient throughout.

A great room in a fantastic location. Absolutely superb service by all the staff that we came across. We were, however, disappointed by the truncation of the menu - no beef/venison on the main menu - and we had been so looking forward to trying both. The staff told us that this was because the hotel was about to shut down for the winter. Such was the rest of our experience during this stay, we will be back next year, hopefully with beef and venison restored to the menu.

We stayed for 2 nights. On arrival, the reception staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We went to our room which was a king-size sea view. The view is even better than any picture will have you believe. Breathtaking. Loved having a little balcony with comfortable chairs and just enjoying the view and silence. The room was spotless. On the 2nd day, the cleaners chapped the door and asked if we wanted anything cleaned or if any of the tea/coffee/teacakes needed replenished. This was a nice thing to do. The bed was massive and comfortable. The bedding itself was a great quality. The shower was always hot and a good power too. Great shampoos etc in the room to try. The grounds are well cared for and we enjoyed walks by the highland cows and down to the seafront. The meals were all great. Portions are huge. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was one of the best i’ve ever had and locally sourced. Reception staff also gave some advice for a place to go a nice walk and we enjoyed a day out in Kilmartin as a result. Overall, I cannot say a bad word or complain about any detail. Superb all round and we’ll be back at the earliest opportunity.

We booked specifically for an overnight stay so we would be relatively close to attend a wonderful concert at Kilmelford Village Hall ,approx a 10 minutes drive away . We've had a very busy schedule recently and the hotel and tranquil peaceful surrounds and lovely views across the bay , was just what we needed. We were lucky the sun shone and we were able to spend a blissful hour or two after checking in ,sitting out on the patio with a nice cup of tea and cake. We weren't able to dine unfortunately as the evening menu started too late for us to attend the concert but we did have a very tasty breakfast the next morning with local sea trout being on offer as well as a good choice of other items . The hotel itself has a lovely relaxed ambiance and all the staff are friendly and helpful . We had been before and stayed in one of the chalet rooms but this was our first time staying in the hotel itself .Last time we visited the lovely adjoining gardens of Arduaine . We will definitely return and stay for longer .

Loch Melfort Hotel is a gem! The view from the hotel is stunning. We enjoyed both a delicious dinner and ample, yummy breakfast as part of the package. Staff were all friendly and efficient. Would book again in a heartbeat.

Amazing views from restaurant. Bar slightly unusual to have a shop at one side. It didn’t feel overly cozy. Room was comfortable and in good condition. Big choice and selection in menu for dinner in restaurant. We enjoyed our dinner but we’d had more enjoyable meals in smaller venues. The hotel was busy at dinner time. The staff were always polite and professional. Overall it was a nice stay,but had an atmosphere that meant I didn’t really feel relaxed somehow.

Das Hotel selbst ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten ein Superiorzimmer mit Meerblick im Anbau gebucht. Bauweise des Anbaus und Ausstattung des Zimmers sind als eher einfach zu bezeichnen. Insgesamt waren wir angesichts der hervorragenden Bewertung für das Hotel doch ziemlich enttäuscht.
