Nice and convenient place. Just remember that your room is right over the pub so there is some noise.

We stayed in room three in the main building. It’s the shabbiest room we’ve ever stayed in. The carpet going upstairs was absolutely filthy and was an indication of the state of the room. It couldn’t have seen a lick of paint for twenty years and there were stains on the walls that looked like a drink had been split and had run down them. The bedding was clean but the bed was so hard we were tossing and turning to avoid pressure points. Every hour there was a loud noise for about ten seconds, which seemed to be a pump. The bathroom seemed to be clean but I couldn’t be confident that the shower was because it was so shabby, so we didn’t use it; luckily, we were only staying one night. Kingsclere is lovely but we won’t stay here again.

The venue wasn't open on arriving but gained access. The room was basic, but clean except for the wc that had been used ( not only as a urinal if you know what I mean )but not flushed or cleaned. Then informed that no restaurant facility's were availability. On requesting for a taxi informed none local and available on pre booking only. Had we know these details in advance we would have driven home after the function rather than back to the accommodation where noise from the bar until closing time was loud and not the most comfortable mattresses. Friendly pub manager raised this review.
