Just one one night in this hotel before our weeks stay in an apartment. Very welcoming hosts. A really lovely rustic bedroom with a fire and stone wall. Lovely comfy bed with white linen. Just perfect for us and our dog. Our friends joined us for dinner with their two dogs. Food was great and gf for our friend. The dogs behaved well and sat under the table. Great that this place is dog friendly. We would love to stay again. Good luck to the lovely hosts who are doing their best to bring about improvements. We loved it. A great start to our holiday. Thank you. Smashing breakfast. Full cooked breakfast for hubby and lovely continental breakfast for me. Lots of choice

Easy to find and easy to park onsite. The room was huge with vintage features and the bed was huge and by the most comfortable I have slept in for years. We didn’t have breakfast as I have a long list of allergies. St. David’s is a tiny City, from the hotel to the Cathedral is about a 10 minute walk and you would have covered most of the city on that walk.

Parking was easy. Rooms and communal areas could do with a bit of an upgrade. Did not eat there, but fairly extensive bar type menu. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were clean. Central to the city, within 10 minute walk to the cathedral etc. For what we paid it was fairly good value.

Generally ok but in need of redecoration. Mould in bedroom and bathroom and snail-trails left by the snail on picture frame. Told housekeeping - thought it funny! But bed comfy, plumbing all worked well.

I usually give positive reviews of hotels or don't bother to give a review at all. In this case I am going to make an exception. The cleanliness / standard of housekeeping at this establishment was dreadful. Thick dust, cobwebs, spiders, mosquitoes, you name it, the Grove has them all. Laziness? Lack of staff ? I don't care about the reasons. Not my problem. Neglect of basic standards is an insult to paying guests. The fact is the state of our room blighted what otherwise would have been a very enjoyable visit to this beautiful Welsh cathedral city. Do visit St. David's. Don't stay at the Grove.

We stayed in room 3 Room wasnt as clean as I wanted as we found used tissues in the top drawer when looking for a hair dryer which the room didnt have so I had to ask at the bar for one.. and when my daughter went to use the toilteries they were empty. Other than that and maybe a little uldating of the decor it was a nice stay and we would return..

We had comfortable stay at the Grove. The room at first glance looked very nice but on further inspection it was not as clean as I would expect. It was dusty around lights, including the bedside light. The bathroom had a strong damp smell as the shower curtain was discoloured as it hadn’t been washed or changed in a good while. The decorative mirror had black mould in the carved white surround. The staff were helpful, especially the member of staff on duty at breakfast. She was great. The continental breakfast is good value at £6.95.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a pleasant evening meal and subsequent breakfast. Our room was clean and comfortable if a little basic. Whereas the downstairs area is well maintained and ‘modern’, the bedrooms are in need of updating and certainly decorating. Last stayed at the Grove in 2019 and they were promising refurb then. It is yet to happen. But does not deter us from visiting again. Particular mention for bar staff, very good.

Overall the area around the property is very good easily access the coastal path lovely walk but tricky in some parts the shops and bars restaurants only 3 minutes walk and about 15 minutes to the cathedral the staff are very friendly and helpful breakfast was very good also do evening meals on the downside the rooms need updating sooner rather than later i I would consider returning in the future 😀 hopefully to refreshed rooms big thanks to all the staff doing a great job

The staff were very friendly. Unfortunately room 7 is rather noisy and vibrates from an extractor? Woke us up early and room was vibrating. Not very peaceful. Flaking paint on radiators.

As the organiser of a 6 room booking no one in the group had any complaints at all. The staff were incredibly attentive and happy to help, the rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was exactly as expected. Considering we were there way out of their main season and the roof had sustained some damage from a recent storm, we were very impressed.

Property is run by a pub chain. Bed was comfy and room a little tired in places but clean. Staff need more organisation, friendly enough but they looked scruffy and service was poor. Nice cooked breakfast. Convenient for St. David's and ample parking.

We stayed at The Grove just after the new ground floor rooms were built and we very much enjoyed our stay. The menu was far superior to what we have just experienced spending 3 nights at the Grove. The current menu is an“everything with chips” menu. Room 3 had a comfy bed ,plenty of space but the en suite was looking well used.

The hotel staff was incredibly warm and friendly. We faced some difficulties at midnight, and they were quick to assist us, for which we are very grateful. Eating on the first floor is very convenient and the food is delicious.

Firstly the staff in the bar and restaurant were lovely. Very friendly and welcoming. The bar, seating area and restaurant looked well kept. Shame I can’t say the same about the rooms. A friend and myself stayed for two nights and were shocked when we saw the rooms. They were grubby and tired and in much need of a complete overhaul. For the price charged over one hundred pounds per night, no breakfast included it was overpriced. I’ve stayed at nicer, cleaner places for a lot less. We chose to have breakfast on our second morning before leaving and what can I say? I had scrambled egg on toast….well if you can call it toast. It looked like the cheapest thin cut bread you could buy and if the person cooking the breakfast thought that the bread had been toasted then they shouldn’t be doing the cooking. It was totally inedible so for one cup of coffee and two eggs scrambled it cost nearly eight pounds. Needless to say I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay there again.
