i was very pleased with this hostel looked clean and tidy from outside and inside was same. if i ever return to australia i would stay again. showers kitchen bedroom was immaculate but basic but did us. not one complaint. girl on breakfast from south shields was spot on. us geordies stick together. xxx

Private rooms are located near the onsite bar, so expect noise. Dormitory rooms 101 to 107 are dark, poorly ventilated ovens with no air conditioning, esp in Summer. Average age of backpackers staying here is around 23 years old.

Overall, a nice place for young people who like to socialise and have a party. Good breakfast. Very nice that you can use a bike for a couple of hours for free. The problem that I had was with the noise at night. Although the kitchen and the bar were officially closed at 11pm, people continued to socialise/party in their rooms till 4am, as well as slamming doors, so it was very noisy. Also I was next to the bathroom on level 2, thus lots of noise from a hand dryer. Well, it’s an old building so I guess it has very poor noise isolation. However, if you aren’t planning for a good night sleep but rather for a good night party, it’s a place for you!

The staff are reallt friendly and super helpful! My room was ready early, so i could book in and catch some sleep. Really clean room, faculities clean and well serviced. Walking distance to most everything in Manly, loads of things inhouse to keep you entertained and mingling, if you want to. Thanks team, ill be back!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had booked a private King Bed in my own room which was great… I didn’t want to share a room as I’m in my mid fifties and wanted peace and quiet. Although the room was very basic, it is clean and comfortable. A night lamp would be very beneficial when reading in bed. I could lock the shower cubicle which gave me privacy and the breakfast the next morning was yummy. I met some lovely young people travelling around Manly so I was able to give them some of my favourite places to see & visit in the area. Overall it was a very pleasant and positive experience for someone older like me, as this was my very first time ever in a hostel type accommodation. 😊
