Guest House on the Mount

We very much enjoyed our stay. The only thing that was confusing was finding the entrance and parking. We went around a few times before realizing and asking someone where to park. It's too bad the parking lot wasn't at the front door but all in all I definitely would book another room and stay again.

This guesthouse was clean, comfortable and quiet. The kitchen hag everything you could need to cook and lots of free space in the fridge to keep my stuff. Bathrooms and showers were cleaned daily and water pressure was good. Because this place is situated on top a hill with some outdoor grounds surrounding it, it’s better suited for someone with a car. But if you’re like me and you don’t have a car then you’ll have to walk up and down the hill to get to bus stops.

Some of the furniture may be on the shabby side but everything is very clean. We had a family suite which was perfect for the 4 of us. It was nice having a kitchenette even though we only used the fridge. This was our 2nd stay at The Guest House and both times it was very quiet. Note: no breakfast nor coffee available on site

The buzzer to gain entrance after hours was hard to find. It was a unique experience and more peaceful than most hotels.

It is surrounded by a beautiful property. Walkable to University hospital. Kitchen area available and dining. Clean and comfortable bed.

Great location, very reasonably priced. Had laundry room & full kitchen facilities on floor. Vety quiet, I slept like a Baby!

Nice room with a balcony. Bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. All the amenities including well equiped kitchen, dinjng area and lounge with large screen tv. Small tv in your own room. Bathrooms and showers were clean.

Great budget friendly place to stay. Comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice staff. There's a kitchen to make some simple meals (hot plate, fridge, toaster oven, microwave) free coffee/tea to make. Nice lounge to hang out in if you like and rooms have a shared balcony. Towels provided. Common bathrooms kept very clean! Conveniently located near a mall & restaurants.

Quiet and clean

I was pleasantly surprised by the property. Room was clean, and it was very quiet - unlike being in a hotel where you hear guests in the hallway. It was difficult to find the front entrance as I arrived at night and it was quite dark, but after driving around the property, I found my way. Bed was comfortable, washrooms clean. Shared kitchen area and washrooms were very clean. Felt like I was back in university residence. Conveniently close to Western University. Would definitely book here again.

I made the mistake of opening the patio door to the balcony. It was full of cobwebs and bugs. We had a stinkbug problem for the 2 days we were there (either coming in from the patio door or from the window shaker air condition - gaps around the edging. The building felt like an old age home.

The building is old and unkept. To get to the reception you have to go up a service elevator which is filthy. The room was also in bad condition. The carpet was not clean, there was a brown liquid splashed all over the wall, and the storage cupboard smells very strongly of fish. The bathroom toilets to not have lids, they are like the ones you would find at the mall. The shower head is broken so that the water pressure was poor and spraying all over. No shampoo or any other necessities are available. The bed was clean but old. The walls are also paper thin. My last concern is that the door to the room is auto locking, so there is no way to physically lock it from the inside. I found this concerning as a solo traveller. There is a kitchen on site and fridges that are for communal use. It’s very reminiscent of a hostel. However, there seem to be many long term residents that are not keen to have you near there things.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and kind. A very good low cost option if you are not looking for any frills.

Excellent hostel. If you don't mind sharing a bathroom this is a great place to stay. If you dont want to share a bathroom they do have rooms with them fir more $. Ive done both here and will likely save the money and share the bathrooms in the future - all impeccably clean!

VERY basic. Back hair in wash basin. I do not have black hair. Bits of cellophane left by tv. Tv receotion terrible. No phone in the room. Bedside light not working so i had to get up to turn light off, then cross room in dark to get back into bed. Will not stay here agsin. Cancel me booking for sept 24th.

The building is in an excellent location but the room was tired and the bathroom was not clean.

Room was decent for the price. Building is very dated. Hallways and showers were unkempt but bathrooms were clean and the rooms were tidy.

This was a former retirement home. For the price, it's good. If you are looking for a simple , clean place to stay - this is it. Yes, it is outdated, although it is clean .

It was very basic accommodations and the mattress was hard. The sheets were clean.

The property is located near University of Western so it's convenient and walkable. However, the mattress is not in a good shape--sagging in the middle. It's not comfortable at all.

I believe this property can be best described as a hostel. Utilitarian, badly in need of maintenance, paint, some carpet replacement

Younger female receptionist was thorough but not overly friendly. TV in the room - cable not working.

Beautiful peaceful balcony view, nice for sitting outside in 25c weather studying, lounge was also scenic with large glass windows. Kitchen had all necessary cooking items, I only used the kettle for tea & soup. I was there for 2 in class sessions on 2 Saturdays in a row. Third weekend of September it was peaceful to study on Friday eve & I gave 5 stars for everything, I had a room at the end of the hall near the lounge. But this last Friday night/Saturday of September was a noisy eve, all night because of home coming... I only gave 4 stars for this stay because your staff gave me a room near the kitchen & elevator, with lots of talking & doors closing after midnight & I got woken up several times & I had to get up at 6am for an 8am class at Western University. I asked the girl at the desk when I checked in if this was a quiet room away from the excess noise & she said yes... no it wasn't... all the students had rooms at the end of the hall by the lounge but they were gathering near the elevator & talking loudly late at night. So I didn't sleep much... anyway, I survived. I like the hotel for the nature & peacefulness. It is clean & tidy also with friendly staff, I recommend it for affordability & a self serve clean kitchen!

Property was difficult to locate as access was on a side road adjacent to the main road address. Room was quite small as it appeared to be part of a former retirement residence which looked very old and tired. The bed had a very soft uncomfortable mattress which caused me to wake up with a sore back. Also the TV was very small and only had two channels.

Excellent price, very spacious. Poor signage/directions. Can't figure out how to work the lounge television. TV in room has one channel only.

I liked that you can have coffee and tea whenever you like and the proximity to University hospital was very convenient. I had a medical test scheduled for 4:30 am in the morning and staying at the Guest house made that experience so much better. I will definitely stay there again. I felt safe and the staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Quiet location. Reasonable cost. Central northend location, close to everything. Great staff. No negative issues. I’ve stayed here 4 times prior to this visit. And, I will likely return again in the future.

No one returned my call. Upon arriving I was told there was no bathrooms in the room it would be an extra charge. Did the upgrade to then find out there was no shower Had to do another upgrade from there was expected to pay for it, and then no soap was provided at all. For 130 a night I would have been better off to sleep in my car and find a sink to wash up in for free. Very disappointing especially after a long day at the hospital, this is supposed to be a friendly welcoming place for families with loved ones in the hospital. Wouldn't stay there again, or even recommend anyone to

Pleasantly surprised with the size of the room for our family. Great value ans quiet. We found the beds clean and comfortable! Check in and check out were friendly, helpful and kind. We will definitely stay there again!

Staff were friendly. Location is terrific for anyone visiting their family at the University. Walkable to university. Terrific mall with great restaurants downtown or at the mall only minutes away.

Walkway to Richmond Street was locked and I was forced to go around the fence as I was traveling without a car I found this inconvenient and unnecessary.

Masonville Shopping Mall is just around the corner. University Hospital is just down the Road as well as Western Unniversity. Reasonably priced and convenient with free parking.

The only thing I didn't like was the location. This property is located on a hill. So I had to walk up and down a fairly large hill to get to my hotel. Also, the hotel was at the back of a conglomeration of buildings, which meant it was facing away from the street. So I had to walk around the building to get to the street. Of course these issues are not relevant if you drove there or have access to a vehicle.

The Guest House was exactly what I needed to stay near Western University. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Coffee was available in the common room every morning. It was very quiet and located on lovely grounds.

Quiet location. Nice to have acceess to a kitchen, dining area and living room that you can use. Reminds me of being back in residence without the mess or the noise. I would stay here if I go to London again.
