The ship is amazing, so beautiful and a real history lesson in 1950s glamour. I was on a work conference and the facilities were great as were the lunches and dinners. Really interesting and great place to stay.

Leider liegt die Unterkunft sehr weit außerhalb und der letzte Bus fährt um ca. 20 Uhr. Außerdem tropft die Klimaanlage, Fenster lassen sich nicht öffnen. Ich habe bei Expedia explizit nach einem Hotel mit Pool gesucht, was dann vorhanden war ist ein Kinderplanschbecken mit 40 cm Tiefe!

This is a unique experience staying on a retro steam liner/cruise ship. The rooms are retro but upgraded. The only down side is that most of the ship is not part of the hotel and you must buy tickets in order to see the best rooms. There is a small discount if you are staying the night, but bake that into the price.

It’s a decommissioned cruise ship, so its a fun and unique place to stay. The location is not good due it being located on a mile long peninsula. Staff was helpful and friendly enough with the exception of the bar staff during the day. We waited at a bar side table 30 minutes and were not even acknowledged, so we went and sat at the bar and left after 10 minutes since it was apparent we were not getting served. The food in the restaurant upstairs was very good and well priced. Transportation is very difficult from here since no Uber or taxis want to go this far out of the way to get you.

Einzigartiges Erlebnis auf einem historischen Schiff (mit Tüchern auf dem Boden) Der Aufenthalt im SS Rotterdam war besonders. Das Kreuzfahrtschiff im Stil der 1960er-Jahre ist heute ein Hotel voller Charme und Geschichte. Die Führung durch das Schiff, geleitet von engagierten Freiwilligen, war ein echtes Highlight. Lage & Aussicht Die Aussicht vom Deck auf Hafen und Skyline ist atemberaubend. Die Anreise mit dem Wassertaxi war überraschend und schön. Es gibt Parkplätze und vier Ladestationen für E-Autos – leider zu wenig. Zimmer (Suite) – aber mit Tropfen Die Suite war hell, sauber und geräumig – mit neuer Badewanne, Bügeleisen und Ankleideraum. Leider hatte die Klimaanlage im Wohnzimmer einen Defekt: Wasser tropfte von der Decke. Schon bei Ankunft lagen Handtücher mit Folie auf dem Boden. So etwas darf in einem 4-Sterne-Hotel nicht vorkommen. Die Klimaanlage muss dringend repariert werden – Handtücher gehören ins Bad, nicht als Notlösung auf den Boden. Service Das Personal war freundlich und sprach gut Englisch. Im Restaurant mussten wir jedoch zu lange warten, obwohl genug Personal anwesend war. Frühstück & Restaurant Frühstück war vielfältig, mit Eierspeisen auf Wunsch. Das Essen am Abend war lecker, Cocktails gut – nur der Wein hätte großzügiger eingeschenkt werden können. Fazit Tolles Erlebnis mit besonderem Flair. Trotz technischer Mängel würde ich den Aufenthalt weiterempfehlen – vor allem wegen der Atmosphäre und Aussicht.

This property provides a unique experience. It is like taking a step back in time because it was a working cruise ship once upon a time. The rooms are spacious, not like current cruise cabins. The beds are soft, not firm. The amenities in the room and bathroom are similar to what you’d find at any decent hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment you approach the property. We were greeted outside by the bell captain who helped us with our luggage and brought us aboard to the guest services area. People at the front desk are very helpful. Food in the restaurant was ok. Beef brisket should have been more tender, but meals that others had were fine. The location is close to the cruise port, which was great because we were sailing on Holland America and this hotel provides free shuttle service to the cruise terminal. This service was excellent! They took our bags right to the ship so embarkation was easy. I would definitely recommend this property. They also offer discounted tours of the ship for hotel guests. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to take advantage of this.

It was a neat experience to be on SS Rotterdam. I would suggest taking the tour as there really isn't all that much to see or do in the hotel without it. The pool (all 20 cm of it) was under repair. The room was a great size. The bed seemed odd. We had brand new mattresses but our bedding was all setup on a thick mattress pad. I almost slipped right out of bed on the first night. Wifi was strange and appeared to come from the TV? Turned the TV off and internet was gone. You do need to call a taxi or Uber as there is nothing walkable (at least for my 80 year old father) around the hotel. The order system for food didn't seem to work in English and wouldn't take credit cards. The staff were able to assist. The buffet breakfast was very good. Try and limit yourself to one croissant as they are heavenly. It was nice to have a complimentary shuttle from the Hotel to the cruise port. All in all, it was a nice stay.

De douche hebben we niet gebruikt. Er zat schimmel in. Verder top accommodatie zeker voor herhaling vatbaar erg mooi super bedden en ruime opzet.

Leider kann ich die vielen positiven Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. In unserem Zimmer hatten wir Motten, und es gab Stockflecken am Spiegel – die Sauberkeit ließ insgesamt zu wünschen übrig. Das Zimmer war sehr alt, was vermutlich zum gewünschten Flair gehört, aber es ist definitiv renovierungsbedürftig. Zudem war es sehr kalt, und die Heizung funktionierte selbst auf höchster Stufe nicht. Insgesamt leider kein angenehmer Aufenthalt

There was great wow factor arriving, and the novelty factor of staying on a boat was fun for the kids. As a hotel it was underwhelming. The bus connection is regular but the bus stops are in fairly ‘sketchy’ spots, I wouldn’t have felt safe as a lone woman. The shuttle is great but stops at 6pm, it would be better running later into the evening once dark rather than during the day. The rooms are kitsch with the period styling and they were immaculately clean. The corridor carpets were dirty and the smell of old smoking rooms permeated everywhere unfortunately. Reception staff were friendly but either unknowledgable or reluctant to help. We arrived at 9pm after a long journey to be told the kitchen was closed and there was no food available on board. The receptionist couldn’t recommend anywhere to go out to eat. They did say we could order a delivery but couldn’t recommend anywhere for that which was unhelpful. It was disappointing that we weren’t able to visit the upper deck, this was open to visitors doing the door but not for paying guests. We joked that we felt like we were in steerage! The breakfast was great. There was no reduced price for children which made that expensive, but it was great quality and they had a huge selection of options. All in all it was a fun choice of hotel for a couple of nights.

Das Schiff an sich ist eine tolle Erfahrung gewesen, mal was anderes. Mir persönlich gefiel das Zimmer nicht so gut: Betten viel zu weich, beide Klimaanlagen tropften, Kaffeemaschine war defekt (wir bekamen aber auf Nachfrage direkt eine Neue) und man muss sich bewusst sein, dass man keine Fenster öffnen kann.
Das Schiff an sich ist eine tolle Erfahrung gewesen, mal was anderes. Heerlijke bedden, kamer was prima. Realiseer je wel dat sommige kamers inpandig zijn en je niet naar buiten kan kijken. Ik vond dat niet zo fijn. Verder uitstekend verblijf op unieke locatie. Vervoer met watertaxi was heel leuk.

Myself and my partner stayed for 4 days, beautiful location and beautiful ship. However, when on the deck the staff are not helpful. We couldn’t pay via their app so we were sat around waiting for a very long time for someone to take our order as we couldn’t pay at the bar, customer service was not the best. Some staff were very lovely and then some were not helpful. Again, very very beautiful ship and EXCEPTIONALLY clean but the air con was rubbish and windows do not open! It got very warm in the room.

Good spacious rooms. The staff on check in and check out were very helpful and friendly. The area around the boat was nice and clean and enjoyable to walk around the decks. The room was quite warm and could’ve done with some air con / a fan or opening window.

This property provides a unique experience. It is like taking a step back in time because it was a working cruise ship once upon a time. The rooms are spacious, not like current cruise cabins. The beds are soft, not firm. The amenities in the room and bathroom are similar to what you’d find at any decent hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment you approach the property. We were greeted outside by the bell captain who helped us with our luggage and brought us aboard to the guest services area. People at the front desk are very helpful. Food in the restaurant was ok. Beef brisket should have been more tender, but meals that others had were fine. The location is close to the cruise port, which was great because we were sailing on Holland America and this hotel provides free shuttle service to the cruise terminal. This service was excellent! They took our bags right to the ship so embarkation was easy. I would definitely recommend this property. They also offer discounted tours of the ship for hotel guests. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to take advantage of this.

Our stay at the SS Rotterdam blew us away. This is definitely in our top 5 of the most original hotel stays we have done in our time as globetrotters. Wonderful, very spacious rooms...nothing like the ones we have seen on the cruises we have done. Fantastic beds too. We really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone traveling to Rotterdam.

Los pasillos mostraban que podían mejorar en aspectos de su limpieza, la habitación sí se encontraba limpia y cómoda. El restaurante Lido estaba rico probé el Sándwich de pollo picante y el desayuno tipo buffet. El personal de recepción muy amable y nos ayudó a brindarnos una habitación una hora más temprano que el check-in porque moríamos de cansancio. Claro que lo recomiendo y con gusto volvería a visitarlos.

Personeel & service, één balie mevrouw was niet heel vriendelijk toen bleek dat er geen plek meer was voor het diner voor ons met 3 personen op zaterdag avond. Ze deed niet haar best om te zoeken naar een oplossing. Ze gaf aan om naar de stad te gaan. Uiteindelijk hebben we wel kunnen dineren in het restaurant door er gewoon naar toe te gaan. Daar waren ze heel vriendelijk.

There is no way a review can describe a stay on the ss Rotterdam, you must visit in person, whether a day tour or preferably overnight stay. I first must truly commend the front desk/reception staff for being extremely attentive, professional and beyond helpful. During our 2 night stay, almost every reception staff member went above and beyond, from room-upgrade, to quickly calling a cab, and to easily address special requests and billing. Even the gift shop attendant was great. But, the biggest thanks must go to a wonderful security member (K), who gladly and enthusiastically helped my parents recreate a honeymoon photo from their Rotterdam cruise 50 years ago. Having this memory being recreated was simply priceless for them and we are all deeply grateful as it wouldn't have happened without this member's help. Besides first class staff, this ship is amazingly preserved in time. After trekking through France for a week, it was like taking a 2 day cruise to know where to unwind. The Lido served a fantastic breakfast and dinner. Captain's Lounge was perfect for coffee/drinks with friends. The rooms are not only spacious, but a reminder of how cruising/crossings used to be, all completely well appointed. Outdoor deck spaces are large & spacious with amazing views. For a comparable price of a boring chain-box hotel room, there is no comparison. And for those, like us, who were looking for the nostalgia of a bygone era and and an experience like no other, a stay is a simple must!

It’s a decommissioned cruise ship, so its a fun and unique place to stay. The location is not good due it being located on a mile long peninsula. Staff was helpful and friendly enough with the exception of the bar staff during the day. We waited at a bar side table 30 minutes and were not even acknowledged, so we went and sat at the bar and left after 10 minutes since it was apparent we were not getting served. The food in the restaurant upstairs was very good and well priced. Transportation is very difficult from here since no Uber or taxis want to go this far out of the way to get you.

My husband and I live on a cruise ship half the year and I am a content creator. My husband use to work on this ship. We were excited to stay here. My only advice is to not stay here in the summer. The air does not work nor does it circulate. As a ship engineer of 30 years my husband tried to tell the front desk and when we turned around to leave we were laughed at. It was my husband, 15 year old daughter and myself. It was a very bad night with no sleep. Also the restaurant: we were very excited to eat there. They forgot to put our order in. We waited 75 minutes for our meal. They forgot the appetizer, then the bread, then brought us the wrong water. Sounds silly but it was 2 hours of me getting up and down from the table to find a server as servers didn’t stop to us and there were many different ones. We live in the Netherlands and all agree we will never go back

Good unique property, very comfortable. Huge carpark infront of ship. Ferry service adjacent to ship allows for access to the pedestrian tunnel to walk to Het Park and Euromast (ferry runs 0700-1000 & 1345-1800). Able to walk to central Rotterdam (Cube Houses, etc) in about 45 minutes, felt very safe.

Interesting for a short stay. Don’t expect the full cruise ship feel. The vibe is not the same. The ship is an interesting novelty place to stay for a night. Location does not provide for off ship walks or dining, but the onboard dining room is good. Portion sizes for meals such as the half ribs are ridiculously large.

Very fun to stay on a retired cruise ship. The room.was large and comfortable. There was a bus shuttle between the hotel to our cruise ship which was fantastic. There are two dining options in the hotel which were ok, but no other dining options in the area.

Myself and my partner stayed for 4 days, beautiful location and beautiful ship. However, when on the deck the staff are not helpful. We couldn’t pay via their app so we were sat around waiting for a very long time for someone to take our order as we couldn’t pay at the bar, customer service was not the best. Some staff were very lovely and then some were not helpful. Again, very very beautiful ship and EXCEPTIONALLY clean but the air con was rubbish and windows do not open! It got very warm in the room.

It was a great hotel, staying on a vintage steam liner was wonderful, the tour of the ship was good, the restaurant was good. The 2 things we noticed was the porthole windows were very dirty and the bathroom exhaust fan vent was hanging out of the deckhead

SS Rotterdam looks better on internet. At arrival you can only visit the vessel by buying an additional voucher. No diner possible fully booked at 11.00 in the morning. Steak-cheese sandwich was without steak and poor quality for the price. Paied almost 200 euro for a room with breakfast with no working aico. For once and never again.

There was great wow factor arriving, and the novelty factor of staying on a boat was fun for the kids. As a hotel it was underwhelming. The bus connection is regular but the bus stops are in fairly ‘sketchy’ spots, I wouldn’t have felt safe as a lone woman. The shuttle is great but stops at 6pm, it would be better running later into the evening once dark rather than during the day. The rooms are kitsch with the period styling and they were immaculately clean. The corridor carpets were dirty and the smell of old smoking rooms permeated everywhere unfortunately. Reception staff were friendly but either unknowledgable or reluctant to help. We arrived at 9pm after a long journey to be told the kitchen was closed and there was no food available on board. The receptionist couldn’t recommend anywhere to go out to eat. They did say we could order a delivery but couldn’t recommend anywhere for that which was unhelpful. It was disappointing that we weren’t able to visit the upper deck, this was open to visitors doing the door but not for paying guests. We joked that we felt like we were in steerage! The breakfast was great. There was no reduced price for children which made that expensive, but it was great quality and they had a huge selection of options. All in all it was a fun choice of hotel for a couple of nights.

De oude grandeur die het schip uitstraalt geeft een extra aan je verblijf. We hebben enorm genoten van deze mooie accommodatie! Wat wel vlotter kon was de bediening bij het ontbijt. De koffiemachines waren defect en het duurde echt lang eer dit in orde was. Ook de portie linguini bij het diner in het Lido was veel te klein in vergelijking met de prijs die je betaalde. Na overleg werd dit wel opgelost. Chapeau voor het personeel dus!
De oude grandeur die het schip uitstraalt geeft een extra aan je verblijf. We hebben enorm genoten van deze mooie accommodatie! Wat wel vlotter kon was de bediening bij het ontbijt. De koffiemachines waren defect en het duurde echt lang eer dit in orde was. Ook de portie linguini bij het diner in het Lido was veel te klein in vergelijking met de prijs die je betaalde. Na overleg werd dit wel opgelost. Chapeau voor het personeel dus!

Lovely aesthetics - breakfast on deck is great! Rooms pretty simple but comfortable. We asked for a twin rather than double but didn’t get it, but luckily the double was two singles together, but couldn’t move them due to fixed tables. Was able to move single bed to another part of the room.

The setting was very unusual in a pleasant way in that she is a retired ocean liner. Unfortunately, I was staying only a short time and I was on business. Otherwise I would have loved to visit the museum and take the tour. The overall impact was charming and much of the feel from her bygone days was still present. The staff, oops I meant crew, were all very helpful and attentive. I will stay longer next time.

This is a unique hotel and is a destination in itself. The maintenance of the ship is very good and we were glad to see all the people both staying and visiting. Having sailed on the ship, it was nice to be back on board. The only way to access the public rooms is by purchasing the tour, even as a hotel guest. But access then is good and I was able to see things closed to passengers when the ship sailed. The lounges are now all event venues, so devoid of furniture. Main negative is it’s an isolated location with little around it. That said, there is frequent bus service to the Metro and also a water taxi to various locations in the harbor. (All extra charge).
