Clean, cozy traditional Inn. Great breakfast and restaurant. Very clean and modern. You’ll have to be driving, but across the street from a Tesco gas station for snacks and gas if needed. Just lovely!

Great stay - Quick check-in - Good shower - Amazing food although only serve till 8pm - Very comfy bed - They didn't tell me this place was haunted though! - Need better coffee in the rooms - A good quality coffee bag is always a nice surprise - But overall I was happy with my stay!

A highly recommended hotel. The transportation is very convenient, parking is easy and free, the warm and friendly clerk, the beautiful building, and the perfect room setting. We will come again.

Very pleasent hotel, beautiful building in a lovely part of the country. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice restaurant and comfy, well stocked bar. If you are looking for a idyllic british country hotel, you can't go wrong here.

Nice, comfortable and overall a very pleasant stay. Food in the restaurant was of a good standard. Also, being dog-friendly was important to me and they made us both very welcome. No complaints.

My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Holt Hotel a number of times before - we love the cosy ambience, friendly staff and very nice breakfast. The location is excellent being on the doorstep of several nice towns in the Costwolds, as well as Bicester Village and Blenheim Palace. This stay was no different (in a good way) in all of those respects. Nice to see the hotel now has an EV charger available to guests, though I daresay in the longer term there will be a need for more than just one. Given 4/5 stars because the restaurant was not open on Sun 29th Dec evening, and we were hoping to have dinner there - this is unfortunately not the first time this has happened, occurred on previous stays too. There should really be a message emailed in advance to inform the hotel guests should the restaurant be closed on nights they are planning to stay, and a note put on the website (which I checked earlier that day, there was nothing mentioned). Still, we will almost certainly be back :)

Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Unfortunately my bathroom wasn't quite clean and the rooms are old so noise from the road and an adjoining room who had a particularly noisey shower cubicke meant i got very little sleep. I checked out tge next morning to find somewhere else for my second night and mentioned the noise. The lady on reception surprised me by offering a refund on the second night since they couldnt fix the hoise issue. However they made me go through Expedia to get the refund and refused a full refund on the second night. Overall, pretty badm food is nice though.

Location and staff helpful Room extremely small than advertised photos. Kept bumping into drawers next to the bed Needs a basic clean of all the areas. Such as lot of dust behind bed and drawers area. We also managed to find chocolate wrappers and kinder chocolate bar which was left behind as evidence. Overall the property is good but wouldn’t visit again due to experience.

The hotel itself is a lovely building, the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Inside the restaurant the edges of carpet are filthy with dust and spiders webs. The hotel room itself was nice, however the bed was very firm. The bathroom was clean but the main head shower did not work and made an awful noise. The food was excellent, our evening meal and breakfast were both delicious. However restaurant service was not the best. Our main problem was the gentleman on reception we found him very rude. Even after he had charged us again when I was sure we had already paid. Thankfully I located the email as proof. He eventually gave a refund after insisting that I move room before issuing the refund. He was not apologetic and his customer service skills were definitely lacking. All in all glad we only stayed one night. Don’t think we would return.

Would not stay there again. Awful room. Had an iron burn on the carpet. Thin blanket was too thin, meaning we were cold at night. Flat pillows. Bathroom was tiny, not like that in the pictures. Felt like student accommodation. Asked for VIP £10 that was in our booking, was not accommodated on arrival and only said you can have £10 off at breakfast. We wanted al a carte, and did not want to be paying for a mediocre breakfast buffet after first impressions of the room.

Room and bed were huge and very quiet so good night’s sleep. The hotel and furnishings are lovely and well maintained and check in was quick and easy. Breakfast was unfortunately a let down though but it might have been because they had a wedding party in too however the fried eggs were rubbery and they ran out of white bread and pastries which was disappointing. Also, only decaf coffee was instant in a sachet which was also disappointing. So if you want a lovely bed and a great sleep this is a fab hotel but I would probably recommend somewhere else for breakfast based on our experience.

Isolated hotel, corridors are looking tired, I had room 89 which was very large and modernised, could hear other guests in rooms below speaking very clearly. Room although very fresh was very hot no ac nor fan. But I would stay again.

Had loft room, it was clean and conformable, shower not suitable for someone tall. Not suitable for less able as there are two flights of stairs to get to room. Excellent stay. The family room we stayed in was huge !!! Nice little separate area for the kids to sleep in yet still in the same room so we didn’t have to worry about them at the same time as them having a little privacy. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

I booked this stay for 2 gentlemen on business which included breakfast. When the gentlemen arrived for breakfast the lady told them that breakfast wasn't included and they would have to pay £32.00. At 8am the guys called me to clarify the situation, I spoke to the lady and advised her that on Hotels.com all rooms included breakfast which she said they didn't. I then sent screenshots of the Hotels.com website showing that all rooms included free breakfast, which she said wasn't true. I then sent one of the guys a screenshot from the confirmation showing it said free breakfast included, which he showed her and she reluctantly let them into the breakfast room, which by this time they were late for their appointment. Extremely poor customer service and very embarrassing for the 2 guys. I suggest that all members of staff understand what agreements you have in place with 3rd party booking companies.

The staff were excellent, all being friendly and efficient except for the one member of staff who greeted us when we arrived around 9.30pm. He was outside vaping I think, and was rather boorish and unhelpful. He was however, the only staff member like that so a poor initial impression was very much corrected the following day. The room was cold on arrival (our stay was late November) as they had not put the heating on in the room, but when mentioned to the receptionist when we left, she was clearly receptive to knowing and appeared tor make a note. Breakfast was excellent and we also had dinner one evening which was good. Would stay again if in that area.

Really informative warm welcome on check in, on the afternoon of 11.08.23 The room was comfy and well equipped. The bathroom was immaculate, modern and nicely decorated. I booked this hotel so that I could get an early check in as a VIP member, after a long flight from the US. I arrived 2 hours early and was told that the room was available, but I would have to pay if I wanted to check in an earlier. I did not receive any of the VIP Expedia benefits and had to put up with a very rude receptionist called Hadia in the evening who kept talking over me. I called the reception and was in my pajamas but she told me I needed to go down to see her so I had to change to go down to talk to her. She then continued to talk over me very rudely telling me that I did not get the benefits because I did not ask for them at check in and that now I was not going to get them because I had a bad attitude. The new junior receptionist, Lily Anne should be better trained and understand the Expedia VIP benefits.

Usually a good place to stay. But last night I was kept up until after 11pm due to a loud repetitive banging noise. I rang at 10.30pm and was told they’d investigate. They said it was the pipe cleaning from the bar. And said it would be over in 10mins. It was another 35minutes until finished. I get up at 5.30am so was trying to sleep. It was really poor.

Such value! Perfect place to ‘home base’ while visiting Oxford and the Cotswolds. Basic but comfortable and the staff was fantastic. I was a woman traveling alone and felt very safe and comfortable. Highly recommend

My girlfriend and I have stayed at the Holt Hotel a number of times before - we love the cosy ambience, friendly staff and very nice breakfast. The location is excellent being on the doorstep of several nice towns in the Costwolds, as well as Bicester Village and Blenheim Palace. This stay was no different (in a good way) in all of those respects. Nice to see the hotel now has an EV charger available to guests, though I daresay in the longer term there will be a need for more than just one. Given 4/5 stars because the restaurant was not open on Sun 29th Dec evening, and we were hoping to have dinner there - this is unfortunately not the first time this has happened, occurred on previous stays too. There should really be a message emailed in advance to inform the hotel guests should the restaurant be closed on nights they are planning to stay, and a note put on the website (which I checked earlier that day, there was nothing mentioned). Still, we will almost certainly be back :)

Room and bed were huge and very quiet so good night’s sleep. The hotel and furnishings are lovely and well maintained and check in was quick and easy. Breakfast was unfortunately a let down though but it might have been because they had a wedding party in too however the fried eggs were rubbery and they ran out of white bread and pastries which was disappointing. Also, only decaf coffee was instant in a sachet which was also disappointing. So if you want a lovely bed and a great sleep this is a fab hotel but I would probably recommend somewhere else for breakfast based on our experience.

Lovely hotel the rooms very beautifully clean and it was a lovely hotel. My only negative I would have is we ate at the restaurant and the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful but the food wasn’t so great. I would stay there again.

Nice location off the main drags, Nice restaurant and bar great service and a nice relaxing space. The breakfast had a good option of product, although I would preferred my fried eggs cooked to order as under the hot lamps the yolks were hard a bit dry and not runny :(

We arrived Sunday afternoon dinner in the restaurant closed at 8pm so we went to the bar 7.20ish for a drink and meal only to be told the restaurant was shut due to it being a quiet evening this meant driving 7 miles to find somewhere to eat When I said we should have been informed of this when we checked in the receptionist advised she hadn’t known herself We went for breakfast cold scrambled eggs dried up bacon aand a coffee machine not working did not improve my mood On check out I asked to speak to a manager or in charge member of staff the receptionist enquired why and I explained the above. She then told me it was planned maintenance and there was a sign on reception . If I’d asked I would have been told this I now have been told 2 different reasons for the restaurant being closed If this was planned then I feel this information should have been emailed to me so we could have either brought cold snacks or more likely changed our booking I was left with the impression that it was our fault and we should have understood these things happen Felt really let down with the service we were given and how this matter was handled

Had a lovely one night stay but found the balcony to are room was dirty so choose not to sit outside also the outside seating area chairs & tables near the bar area was the same but could have been easier rectified apart from that was very happy .
