We had a wonderful stay. The room was amazing with great views. The hotel has ample common areas as well as a hot tub and dart room. The bar on premise is nice too. The breakfast buffet was great each morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are food options within walking distance as well as a super market.

Apesar de ser na Islandia parece um motel americano simples e por isso nos pareceu um pouco caro, mas com essa ressalva, a recepção é no bar do hotel, onde ha dardos, mesa de sinuca, um lounge e telao para jogos.Tenho muito elogios a receptividade no hotel. My husband and I had a decent experience. Staff members were pleasant. We enjoyed playing billiards, and we liked our hotel room, though we wished there were curtains that blacked out the light. The hot tub was extremely hot - way too hot for our liking, and we were disappointed to not be able to enjoy, as a result. Hotel does not have a consistent feel, and it was too quirky for our liking. Hotel had arranged for a cab to pick us up from the hotel at 3:45am to bring us to the airport for an early morning flight, though the cab never came, and we were left scrambling.

The parking was a bit confusing. We were 2 people but only 1 glass, not enough cutlery for 2 people. I would also suggest that extra towels would be a nice option...otherwise small but perfect for 2 people

This property is clean and good value for money BUT we stayed in Room 1 which is next to the outdoor bar seating. (The hotel and bar are combined) We had gone to bed early to have an early start the next day but it was SO LOUD as bar patrons were screaming and chanting and singing, also this outdoor area is the smoking area and we could smell the cigarettes. Room 1 really shouldn't be used for guests when the outdoor space is open. Maybe if you get a room farther away you wouldn't hear the bar noise.

Best holiday ever!!!! The hotel was perfectly placed outside of the City, this meant it was quieter, less busy and the views were incredible. The Northern Lights appeared right outside our balcony so we had our own private showing! There were shops nearby for supplies and seemingly some good transport links (we rented a car) there was lots of parking at the hotel and around jt. The staff were very friendly, the owner was brilliant too! He took his time to show us around and give us history of the area etc. The room was big (family room) and the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was good for what we needed with good water pressure. The room was warm and cozy for the cold. There was also a fridge and microwave close by outside the room although we didnt use these. We are planning our next trip to Iceland and we will definitely be booking here jf we can

We loved our stay at Hotel Laxnes. The staff were friendly and welcoming! There was space in the fridge for groceries, which was a plus since we stocked up for our trip to the South the next day. The room was clean and comfortable, and we had a good rest—ready for our Iceland adventure. I truly recommend this hotel.

Overall very convenient location. Everything you need nearby such as groceries, restaurants and gas with some main attractions within an hour or two driving distance. It is very quiet here which is awesome. My critique is to give guests more than one towel, give a bit more shampoo and soap. Also the person who cleans the rooms needs to do a better job. There were multiple bugs as well as hairballs throughout.

This was a very nice motel with very clean facilities. They had a very nice breakfast that was included. Classic European style breakfast with soft boiled eggs, bread, meat, cheese and fruit. Also had waffles.

We were greeted upon arrival by friendly patrons enjoying some libations and our check in was quick and pleasant. We really enjoyed our one night stay.There were three of us and the room was spacious and had 4 twin beds. These were the best beds ever. So comfortable we slept through breakfast. It also had a nice sitting area for watching tv and was convenient located by several take out restaurants. Our room even had a balcony. We would definitely recommend this lovely Hotel Laxnes.

There were some things I really liked about this hotel: nice breakfast, clean and simple rooms, nice walking path nearby. My primary complaint is that we went in late May, and it doesn’t actually get dark that time of year, and the black out curtains didn’t reach the edges of the very large windows, so it was incredibly bright in our room. Our young children were up till 1 am and up for the day at 6. It was awful. I think I would have enjoyed the stay much more during a different time of year.

Hotel vieillot. Les stores d'origine remplacés par de vulgaires tissus laissant passer toute la lumière. Sur une des fenêtres, il n'y avait carrément pas de stores. Avec la nuit qui ne tombe pas, pas génial. Petit-déjeuner minimaliste. Par contre grande chambre avec vue montagne. Cela était sympa.

maybe i was given the wrong room. i booked a room with a mountain view and kitchenette. we chose this hotel for the kitchenette- but there was none. and we had a kfc view, not a mountain view. i wish they'd ban smoking outside doors - cigarettes smoke prevented us from having the balcony door open.

We booked this hotel day of our stay as we were sick of being in our rental camper van. The only room left was the panoramic Mountain View suite and it was a beautiful and very clean room with the great view! Sad we only stayed for one night.

This was my 3rd time staying at Laxnes and it is always a joy. Great staff, clean rooms, breakfast spread is very solid. It is easy to get on Bus #15 to get into the center of Reykjavik. Would highly recommend this hotel!

A good location near the city but away from the noise and lights. The view from our windows were great. The best thing though is the people! Anna had lots of friendly advice and helpful suggestions and Birita was lovely. The owner also introduced himself.

Wonderful! The bed was extremely comfortable, we both slept very well and our backs appreciated the bed. Very interesting antiques throughout which we enjoyed. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. We would gladly stay there again.

Served its purpose. We only slept here for one night, and I can’t say that we would have stayed for more. For the Americans traveling through, this “hotel,” is what we would define as a motel. Also, something very important to note, there is a cutoff for check-in! You need to arrive before 2200ish.

Wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Reykjavik and Hotel Laxnes did not disappoint. Staff were amazing and extremely helpful. Hotel Laxnes has a very rustic Icelandic feel. Offers great breakfast to start your day. Conveniently located on the golden circle as well. Would highly recommend a stay there.

My husband and I had a decent experience. Staff members were pleasant. We enjoyed playing billiards, and we liked our hotel room, though we wished there were curtains that blacked out the light. The hot tub was extremely hot - way too hot for our liking, and we were disappointed to not be able to enjoy, as a result. Hotel does not have a consistent feel, and it was too quirky for our liking. Hotel had arranged for a cab to pick us up from the hotel at 3:45am to bring us to the airport for an early morning flight, though the cab never came, and we were left scrambling.

On check in I was told I had to pay a tourist tax, which I did assuming it was normal in the Reykjavik area. However afterwards I checked the booking receipt and it claimed that taxes were included in the price. Also some internet research suggests tourist tax applies throughout Iceland yet all the other hotels we stayed at included it in the price.

Apesar de ser na Islandia parece um motel americano simples e por isso nos pareceu um pouco caro, mas com essa ressalva, a recepção é no bar do hotel, onde ha dardos, mesa de sinuca, um lounge e telao para jogos.Tenho muito elogios a receptividade no hotel. Best holiday ever!!!! The hotel was perfectly placed outside of the City, this meant it was quieter, less busy and the views were incredible. The Northern Lights appeared right outside our balcony so we had our own private showing! There were shops nearby for supplies and seemingly some good transport links (we rented a car) there was lots of parking at the hotel and around jt. The staff were very friendly, the owner was brilliant too! He took his time to show us around and give us history of the area etc. The room was big (family room) and the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was good for what we needed with good water pressure. The room was warm and cozy for the cold. There was also a fridge and microwave close by outside the room although we didnt use these. We are planning our next trip to Iceland and we will definitely be booking here jf we can

I was tired and did not see much of the property but had a free gull with a local guy and good conversation and got a load of laundry done only bad thing breakfast was served later than i wanted to stay so I missed it and that was my choice perfect launching point for the golden circle

Hotel vieillot. Les stores d'origine remplacés par de vulgaires tissus laissant passer toute la lumière. Sur une des fenêtres, il n'y avait carrément pas de stores. Avec la nuit qui ne tombe pas, pas génial. Petit-déjeuner minimaliste. Par contre grande chambre avec vue montagne. Cela était sympa.

This was the perfect spot for our family to stay before kicking off our Golden Circle day trip. The facilities were spotless, the morning breakfast was a hit for every single family member as well and the staff were lovely. Perhaps the highlight was the Northern Lights dancing right outside our windows.

Our stay at this hotel over New year was nothing but a pleasure, from the minute we stepped into the hotel to the minute we left we were always welcomed. We even seen the northern lights on NYE! Breakfast was lovely and the family room we had was big and spacious. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel has lots of places to get food within a 2 minute walk along with 2 supermarkets. We will definitely be back 😊

I would not call it a hotel, more a motel. The atmosphere in the bar was great. Almost like an Irish bar.. but only soup was available as food. The breakfast was ok standard. The room had everything needed, but showed sign of maintenance need. The personale was fantastic helpsome.
