Hotel Puebla de Antaño

On the positive side, the hotel's location is excellent, just off the main square of the historic centre. The decoration and style of hotel is tasteful and very colonial. The price is reasonable and the rooms are nice, clean with plenty of drawers and cupboards and a good size safe. The shower was excellent and the maid was friendly and helpful. On the negative side the lift was not working and had not been for some months according to previous reviews and there was no porter service. We were lucky because they changed our room to the ground floor as we had a heavy suitcase. The doors had frosted glass panels with thin curtains covering them but you could see inside if you looked close to the glass. The TV only had 8 channels and was a poor selection. The room cards had the hotel name and room number on them, which I would consider a security risk if you lost it or had it stolen. On Expedia it listed bathrobes but there weren't any. Overall apart from minor niggles the hotel was good clean with excellent location and would stay again.

Wi Fi lacking with no explanation as to why. They were not able to fix during my whole stay. As a business traveler wifi is very important. Hot wat took over 5 minutes to got hot in the shower.

Our room was very dirty upon check in but cleanliness improved over our stay. Took about 10 minutes of running shower to get hot water. Limited amenities in hotel. Great location close to zocalo, cathedral, shopping and dining. Not sure I’d go back.

El edificio es una belleza y está muy bien ubicado, a media cuadra de la Catedral. El personal es muy amable y cortés. Deben mejorar el uso del elevador porque se descompuso varias veces, lo mismo que el servicio de desayuno en el restaurante.

Beautiful hotel with all the amenities. Very colonial. Mezcsleris and restaurant downstairs were great and staff was great. The terrace lounge wasn't my favorite-food wasn't great and staff was young and packed knowledge as well as the vibe just didn't fit the lounge. They played very depressing music for a rooftop lounge. The hotel room was great. Comfortable and clean. Most of all, the location is UNBEATABLE. You are steps away from the Zócalo but on s nice tree-filled street with stores, restaurants and bars. I hope I get to stay here again.

es un lugar comodo y tranquilo para descansar como observacion, el elevador estaba en mantenimiento y las puertas de los balcones no se abrian. el servicio yu atencion en general fue excelente.

The hotel is comfortable and close to downtown. Staff friendly. The only issue that u can say is that the elevator was not working

Muy bonito hotel, muy céntrico, de verdad nos gustó, el único punto de queja sería en la limpieza y a qué llegando encontramos una toalla femenina usada en el baño, el hotel ofreció cambiarnos de cuarto amablemente. A parte de este inconveniente nos gustó nuestra estancia.

Muy buena atención por la recepcionista Alejandra , el servicio al cuarto muy bien , muy buena atención en general Ubicación excelente para el que quiera estar en el centro , a media cuadra del zócalo y catedral Muchos restaurantes alrededor y barrios antiguos Como sugerencia requiere mantenimiento el área de la regadera y baño También cambiar por sábanas , colchas y fundas de almohadas nuevas , están limpias pero muy usadas El estacionamiento está a cuadra y media y está incluido en la tarifa , es de valet parcking

El hotel tiene una buena ubicación, atento y amable el personal, el único inconveniente es que el día que recibimos la habitación el piso estaba sucio manchado de comida ( salsa).

Liked location close to the zocalo and all. Liked the casona Didnt like the room with windows that didnt open, floor tiles loose, stained sheets and towels and no room vemtilation. I was waiting 15 minutes in the los.chismes bar and was ignored by all waitress. And Barman Bad customer service!

Très grande chambre et salle de bain. Excelente proximité avec lieux d’interet.

Staff switched rooms to start. Gave out king room to another family member. Very awkward to resolve. Elevator broken & multiple trips to get Wi-Fi , directions to use AC. Front room near street loud all night. Was not a value & worse place we stayed in Mexico. One star is generous. Location is ONLY bonus but plenty of other options much better. We left early .

Sí, tengo dos quejas, la primera, la televisión no sirvió, no la pude ver por más que intentaron corregirla, no se conectó ni a Internet. La segunda había música de no sé dónde, que se escuchaba en mi habitación, incómodo toda la tarde y hasta altas horas de la noche en la madrugada y luego hoy 29 de noviembre a las seis de la mañana, empezó a sonar otra vez la música, eso no me gustó

No exterior windows, all rooms enter from main atrium lobby, so even though rooms are ok, you can hear everything going on due to hard surfaces and door not sound-proofed. The free breakfast, which consisted one choice, Frosted Flakes of all things, was insulting.

La habitación no contó con servicio de Wafi

Las escaleras estan terribles, los escalones muy chicos y el nivel muy inapropiado, las habitaciones muy incomodas, el baño esta ubicado en una puerta que se ve para el pasillo, muy incomodo todo. Las instalaciones con muy viejas.

La atención de recepción, algunos de los empleados no son empaticos con el cliente, la tv solamente su programación solo erabde 3 canaleta

Staff switched rooms to start. Gave out king room to another family member. Very awkward to resolve. Elevator broken & multiple trips to get Wi-Fi , directions to use AC. Front room near street loud all night. Was not a value & worse place we stayed in Mexico. One star is generous. Location is ONLY bonus but plenty of other options much better. We left early .

This hotel has so much charm as much of the buildings or “casonas” in this historic city do. It was a wonderful stay and I have to agree with others that the staff was amazing. We felt safe and comfortable. There was a large group of us so we had the chance to see 3 different junior rooms. If you are able to, request one located at an end or corner. Those have the best features in my opinion. I stayed in an interior room which made it significantly smaller, darker and stuffier because it did not have operable windows. It only had a small inoperable front window facing courtyard and our sink was awkwardly located outside the restroom with a half frosted bathroom door rather than a full privacy door. The amenities such as split Ac units in each room and elevator were nice since we traveled with elderly family. We had an issue with our shower head the first night. But we were pleasantly surprised to see it replaced with a new one the same day we reported it. The only negative for us was the hotel restaurant food. The coffee was subpar. Most of the time, it was barely hot. And the food in general was mediocre which was a shame because there were a couple of times we were too tired to go out to eat and wished their food had been better. But the complimentary continental breakfast was still appreciated. Be sure to go up to the rooftop for drinks. It has a nice view of the Cathedral and large lounge area.

La ubicación es excelente a unos pasos de la catedral y de los sitios por visitar . El personal es muy atento. Hotel muy bonito y la habitación tiene todo lo necesario.

This is a unique property as it used to be the Italian Consulate in the 19th Century. The rooms have high ceiling and are comfortable. I heard no noise from the street. There is a chef from France that has recently arrived for the hotel restaurant which I had dined at twice to very tasty meals. The hotel is very close to the main plaza.

Edificio muy colonial, justos a media cuadra de la plaza central, muy practico para recorrer el centro.

It was a prime locations d super attentive friendly staff. The room was very clean. And it was great to have a restaurant onsite. The old building was really beautiful. Improvements I would make are to mitigate the super strong mildew smell in the room-104. I believe it’s coming from the closet, which I didn’t use because of the smell. If the rooms could have more natural light, too, that would be nice, but maybe that is just the way it is w old buildings in Mexico.

From the moment I arrived til the very last minute that I left the hospitality here was amazing! I stayed for 3 days and I really booked my next stay. So convenient to everything Puebla has to offer! I highly highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Also check out the Terrace and restaurant and bar!
