A great place, the stable room(s) weee huge, superb value for money with a fully fitted kitchen and big lounge, large bedroom and huge bathroom. It’s 100 yards from the Tissington Trail. Any issues the staff were incredibly helpful in sorting. Will stay again.

Staff were really helpful giving us an early check in as we were in the area for a wedding, everyone was really friendly. Room was very clean and had a lovely view of the gardens and breakfast was excellent, large portion and the food was very high quality.

I know we booked very last minute but the staff weren’t aware of our booking when we arrived. We were given a decent room but it was above the bar and south facing so even though we immediately opened the windows it remained hot all night and wasn’t particularly quiet. Hotels.com failed to mention that the property is attached to a working dairy farm which added to the ‘ambiance’. The restaurant meal was excellent. A great selection of delicious food. I would say that breakfast was a little overpriced. Tea & coffee plus a glass of juice were already included in the room price so the price was just for the food element. Breakfast was £15 per person on the day or £10 paid in advance. We both ordered scrambled eggs with toast and baked beans. When it arrived it consisted of a single slice of sourdough toast, a tiny bucket of beans (the sort of container that might ordinarily be used to serve a bit of ketchup) possibly ten beans and a serving of scrambled eggs about the size of a crumpet! We planned to cycle along the Tissington Trail that day (very conveniently located to the rear of the property) and were expecting a decent breakfast to fuel our exploits.

The New Inns is a wonderful place to stay... It has only recently reopened following a refit, after what was the Newton Hotel had been closed for a long time and fallen into a bad condition...The owners have done a great job on the place, the front of house/manageress was fantastic and the breakfasts were lovely...We didn't have dinner there as we had already booked at the Okeover Arms, only to find out that it is a sister pub... The food there was utterly amazing and the menu at the New Inns has a similar Indian fusion twist, with the addition of their own smokery, so we will definitely be eating at the hotel on our next visit
