Microtel had availability when we needed to have a last minute change of reservations in the area within a few hours of booking. It is conveniently located 3-5 minutes outside of downtown Bryson City. The evening and morning staff were both friendly. We didn’t take advantage of the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that. Towels smelled clean and the room itself appeared clean, although a bit dated. Our only reason for 3 stars is because our nonsmoking room had definitely had a smoker in it at some point, as there was a noticeable cigarette smell when we arrived and returned from breakfast the next morning.
