Rooms look like small 1 room cottage. Back porch right on side of the river, beautiful.

Pool was closed. Ice machine was broken. I was told to go to family dollar and buy ice. There was no safe. Trash was never emptied and never got fresh towels etc. I was there 3 days and 4 nights. On Thursday the water wasn't working. Staff never informed me about any problems and length of time to fix. It wasn't working when I went to use it and when I returned 5 hours later it was working.

The whole reason we chose the hotel was because of the pool but the pool wasn’t in service and hasn’t been all year so they should make it known to hotels.com that everything is as advertised. Power outlets didn’t have proper voltage. The property looked pretty abandoned. We arrived during business hours and no one was in the office

Upon arrival I was greeted by the staff and was told about activities near by and restaurant that he requested! Told where my room was and the drink machine and ice machine. Got into our room and the smell of Mary-Jane hit us in the face. Rooms were clean and bathroom as well. Drink machine was out of order. We expected a swimming pool but upon arrival found out they didn’t have one due to the hurricane. Which is understandable. But definitely should write that on the about part for temporary issues or something. Anytime we needed towels or anything for the room the office staff made sure to accommodate. We overall enjoyed our stay.

There is a beautiful back porch area right next to the river. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The room is done in real knotty pine planks with matching furniture. Feels like a cabin. Parking right in front of your room. Great value. Liked it so well we stayed an extra day.

The property is very rustic. Few amenities. No vending machines, no pool, no lamp in the room. Coffee maker but no coffee. Towels are old and worn. The floor in our room had two levels. The transition from one level to the other is very abrupt and not super safe. BUT, we did enjoy the stay and slept very well in the bed. The river behind our room was great.

We decided not to stay and just lose our money. The grass was knee high, the wastebasket inside the room had trash in it. The bathroom was not clean to what I would expect. Hair in sink. No mattress pad on bed. Not that we would have used the pool, but it was not clean, and the water was green. All in all, just didn't feel comfortable or safe. Our dog was very unsettled and stressed in the room. I understand that this was a dated inn and that is fine but based on the reasons listed. We did not stay.

I did not stay there. Drove up… pool was covered with a tarp..,, nasty outside…ice machine broken (note on window) the attendant was outside walking around with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. People had doors open so don’t know if air was working. Did not stick around to see

The location is excellent. On the river, my room opened to the patio with picnic tables and rocking chairs. The front had rocking chairs to sit back and enjoy the scenery. The room was good, but the plumbing needs a little work.

The motel wasn’t the most attractive outside but walked in the room and it was surprisingly clean! Comfortable beds, you could smell the clean comforter, freshly cleaned and enjoyed our stay! Will definitely stay again when needed 💙

I've stayed at my fair share of poor motels, but this takes the cake. Our second night there, our power blew when I opened the microwave door. We walked to the office to get help, only to find out no one was there. Door locked. There is a number to call to get a hold of someone taped to the door. The number has been disconnected. There was a guy wandering around the place as well, so we talked to him. Apparently he had a room booked that night and had been there for half an hour and couldn't check in because no one was there. Mind you, this was at 6:15pm. Office hours on the door state til 9:30pm. Eventually, he left (assuming to find a new motel for the night), and we saw a housekeeper walking outside. We asked her for help. She went and found the maintenance guy. He was incredibly nice and tried to find the issue. Even the breaker to the room didn't work. So he had the housekeeper go into the office and get us a key to a new room. The office guy never came back. Our hot and cold water handles in the bathroom sink were switched. The bath towels were the size meant for a 5 year old, not an adult, and were horrible. Basically just smeared the water instead of absorbing it. The place is horribly old and outdated. We only had one working outlet in the room which was by the door. The floors were filthy with dirt, crumbs, debris, as if no one vacuumed. I would never stay here again.

Keep looking. Bryson City is cute. Bugs are in the room. 2 cockroaches and one blood sucker tick/slug on my bed. I barely slept thinking about the bugs. There’s a hole behind the fuse box in the bathroom and I chased one into his hiding spot in that hole. The advertised kitchenette is a mini fridge, small microwave and coffee maker stacked one on top of the other. It’s not updated and the bath towel is the size of my hand towels at home. Unless it’s the only property left in town, look elsewhere . If it’s your only option and you bring raid , I think you’ll be good .

You get what you pay for, but we were not expecting how run down and shabby this hotel is. Dirty, numerous attempted fixes, paper thin doors, and even found unused women’s diapers in our restroom cabinet. The river behind the motel, very nice staff at check in, and its location are the bright spots.

Old rooms with key locks not secure, moist dirty carpet had to wear shoes in the room, lights outside shine in room allnight, no curtain on door and single curtain on window not enough to block out light, dirty old ripped inoperable blinds. View of river was only thing going for this hotel.

Super clean rooms! The only thing they do not provide is a hair dryer. Super friendly staff.

We loved the back porch that overlooked the river and picnic tables at the waters edge. It's an older motel, so the room isn't huge (not a big deal to us). It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable! Staff was very nice and helpful.

This property gets five stars for cleanliness and guest services. Understand this is an aged hotel, but totally clean! Comfortable beds!

Bed and seating uncomfortable. No storage facility for clothing and toiletries. Room and bedding are clean. AC worked well but kind of noisy. Not enough electrical outlets.

Nice older hotel that is right by the river. Great back porch with lots of lights. Room is dated but clean. Bed was comfortable. Negatives for some would be, this is a park in front of the door hotel, office was not always manned, had to call for service, was mold in the chalking of the shower. For the price, it was a good deal and I would stay there again.

Motel was old and dingy. Rooms small and cramped. Bed was hard and did bit have blankets. Don't recommend at all.

The room was ok. Definitely a dated room. The main door to the room did not seal well. When shut at night you could see light coming through the door frame. Kinda like you could stick a card through and catch the latch to open the door. Definitely needed the chain latch. But the overall property was quiet and peaceful. The desk clerk was very nice and friendly.

I liked the poarch that viewed the river, the pic nic tables and grills. Close to town. The room was small. The air-conditioning very loud. Difficulty sleeping.

The Good: Guy at check-in was super friendly and helpful on where to park our trailer. The room was small, but very homey and sort of rustic. It was very clean and bed was comfortable. The view of the river was just great and being dog friendly was critical to us as we had our pup with us. Seems like many folks staying were repeat guests who all talked w/us and each other. The Not-So-Good: The bathroom was a bit tight but not too bad for one night. The biggest concern we had was security. The sliding door went out to a shared deck. It only had a U bolt to keep it locked, which in order to put the bolt in the door had to be open a little so you could easily stick a credit card in and pop the u bolt off. The front door was similar in that there was a gap you could easily access to pop the door lock open. Also, not the hotels fault but there was a guy smoking on the shared deck w/an ankle monitor on just looking in the sliding door, till we closed the drapes. We weren't too worried as we had a rather large dog and other personal protection with us. Bottom Line: Would we stay here again? YES we would. Good value, great location and view, and comfortable bed.

For my purposes, this location is perfect - quiet and relatively natural environment that is still roadside and able to get to a large number of hiking trails and towns all within 15 minutes. The front desk was warm and welcoming - the guy there is chill in a friendly way.

The beds and rooms need to updated. One you play in the bed it’s as if your laying in a angle with you head up torso flat and legs back up. Rooms need to updated. It smelled like sewer in the room and outside. I just wish it was more updated and had better beds and bed frames.

Great view of the river. The room is small and not luxurious, but has wood panel ceiling and walls with fireplace, which is perfect for a mtn stay. Bryson City is 5 miles. The fireplace only adds to the rustic look... Not for use of course.

After paying online through Expedia, we show up and were asked to pay additional fees in cash or forfeit our reservation (without refund). Our backs against the wall, we handed over the cash. Felt extremely ripped off from the start. We arrived 45 mins early and asked if room was ready, they wanted an additional fee for early check in. We said never mind we’d just kill time and then suddenly our room was ready and we could check in. Once in room, the floor is uneven (major foundation issues), toilet wouldn’t flush, tv wouldn’t turn on. Major holes in walls (with poorly attempted drywall patches). Door locks not secure feeling. I’d never book here again in a million years (and I also never leave reviews, especially negative ones, but I thought I’d try to help anyone else).

Staff made us feel like family. Lovely older motel situated on the banks of a river. This gave us an opportunity to relax and enjoy the rocking chairs outside our room overlooking the river. Beds were comfortable. It wasn’t fancy, but it was clean, quiet, and a good value. Will stay there again when in the area.

I didn’t catch his name but the front desk guy was freaking cool man! Super nice, chill energy and all around friendly.

Overall, it was a nice stay. The room had a good view of the Oconaluftee River. The only issue that I had was the $10 per hour fee for early check in. The office looked unattended for the entire stay.

This property is run down, people lived in the room next door, the comforters had holes in them, staff had my husband paid even though we paid on Expedia and made us pay more than it was on Expedia I wasn't there at check in so he paid. It took over two hours to get a refund from Expedia. The front desk guy had no idea what he was doing and wasn't helpful in any way. We were supposed to get a river front room with patio but that isn't what we got and they refused to help. It is a truly run down awful place it seemed like everyone checking in had major issues Do not stay here

Such a cute motel! Beds comfortable and clean. It is not new or modern but it is a nice place. The man working when I checked in was the best!!!!! Excellent customer service

Wonderful little place to stay just outside the shopping area of Cherokee. Only ten minutes to the casino by car and less than that go shopping and dining. We will return to enjoy the river view room when it is warmer!

This is a very well maintained property with pleasant and helpful staff outside of the tourist area. The stay is very relaxing as it overlooks the river with a shared balcony and rocking chairs. The room is comfortable, clean and cozy with a convenient coffee maker and refrigerator. I have stayed there twice and will again.

I love the proximity to the river and the family run nature of Lloyds. Its located perfectly if you want to avoid the cities, which I prefer. The backyard is great and the simple and comfortable lodging is ideal for my purposes. Thanks! Ill be back again. Cheers

Needed a place near Bryson City to stay overnight, this fit the bill. Quaint and clean, beds were comfortable. We didn't use the kitchen, but it had everything needed. Lots of cosmetic upgrades to this 1970s era hotel. Only complaint more convenient electrical outlets could be used, and the bathroom definitely needs a fan. Otherwise, it was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay.

Had a great experience at our recent stay at Lloyd's on the River Country Inn. Drove up from Florida and booked last minute on Expedia, got the last double queen river view room available, room 110. The staff was extremely kind and got us checked in when we arrived in the quiet hours of around 10 pm. They had a list of great places in the area that were good to eat, and I can say with confidence that Peter's Pancakes were fantastic and that breakfast did indeed slap. Our room was definitely older and a little worn, but you can tell that it has been well loved over the years. Was pleasantly surprised to find a microwave and mini fridge. The heat worked great, and we did not have any problems with any of the amenities. The porch and river view are one of the bigger highlights of the stay, and the inn is located pretty much the same distance between the main hub area towns of cherokee and bryson City. I think a small amount of TLC would take these rooms from a 9.8 to a true 10/10 but for the price, you can not beat the value. When we were out in town, we stopped at a chocolate shop and mentioned we were staying here and the cashier said "oh they're good people" just adding to the warm fuzzies I already felt about our stay. I hope that this inn is very successful and sticks around for many years to come, because I would love to come back one day.

The amenities were not as advertised. No breakfast or laundry. The property is older and the remodel has some issues. My main complaint is the doors. The front door has been jimmied so many times I am surprised it latches, much less locks. I had to lift and push to get the porch door to lock. I LOVED the rockers on the back porch beside the river. The bed was very comfortable. The staff was great.

Our room and the bathroom were clean. Our bed was comfortable (the most important thing). The view of the river out of our back patio door was beautiful. The only problem was there were no cups or stuff to make coffee other than 1 regular and 1 decaf coffee. We were able to solve that problem in the morning. Gotta have that wake up coffee!
