Hotel Montmorency is 4* and right opposite the Hotel Chateau which was 5* so they share the same facilities which made it a great stay. Fantastic location set back 200m from Carcassonne entrance Gorgeous pool area, a bit smaller than official photos suggest but still lovely Breakfast was amazing, an array of dishes served to you by a waitress, fruit, cheese, ham, pastries, croissants, white and brown rolls and option for boiled eggs and muesli. Lovely setting at front of hotel overlooking the castle for breakfast, food and drink, gardens are beautiful The decor in the Montmorency is a bit on the loud side and the rooms a little small but the beds are very comfortable and great shower. Very pleased with our stay though a little disappointed that they did nothing at all to help us celebrate my 60th birthday and our silver wedding anniversary despite banners and cards all over our room and we’d notified them months in advance?

Hotel has spectacular views and is an easy walk to the Medieval Citadel and walled town where there are plenty of restaurant choices for dinner. I recommend you have breakfast at the hotel. It is great value and includes local yogurt, cheese, ham, a soft or hard boiled egg, a basket of bread and pastries, a basket of fresh fruit, fresh pressed apple juice and coffee or tea of your choice. The property shares the bar/breakfast space, pool and spa, with its luxury sister property.

It was a wonderful place with friendly staff and close proximity to the castle. The animals around the building made it even better as they were always friendly and excited to hang out. The bar had great drinks, snacks, and breakfast. We extended our stay because we enjoyed it so much!

Très bon accueil. L'emplacement est top à 100m de la porte principale de la cité. Le parking est aussi très pratique et moins cher par rapport aux autres parkings de la ville. Bon petit dej avec vue sur la cité. Le bémol, c'est que j'avais réservé cet hôtel pour le l'accès au spa mais c'est en supplément et écrit nul part sur la description ( seuls les massages, petit dej et parking sont inscrits en supplément) et cher pour peu de temps. Un jacuzzi/ piscine extérieure sont en accès gratuit mais pour il accéder il faut traverser une route puis la reception pour aller dans une autre cours. Je ne me vois pas le faire avec un peignoir en hiver.

Fantastic location directly in front of the walls of Carcassone. Easy and secure parking. Lovely pool and hot tub( but small). The hotel is lovely and the rooms are modern, but compact. We had a patio which was a bonus.

Excellent place to stay for a visit to the wonderful city of Carcasonne. Convenient, safe parking on-site for 15 euros per night. Our bedroom was clean and comfortable, across the road from the main hotel reception but that wasn’t a problem. Lovely pool and pool area with sun beds, which we made use of.

Great communal areas, snazzy rooms, clean and comfortable. Superb location. Friendly staff. Good location. But should have been clear on Expedia's website and also when checking in that the car park would incur a charge.

Excellent property on every level - authentic French style and quality . Staff are so professional, breakfast and lunch at the property was delicious. Outdoor seating and pool area is beautifully maintained and the gardens are idyllic . Perfect location to explore Carcassonne and the surrounding areas

The Hotel is in an excellent position, pool area beautiful and Breakfast very nice. Bedroom was fine comfortable and quiet however bathroom was dirty with hair on the floor behind the door, was pointed out and room was cleaned but hair remained. Plug in bath blocked and dirty. No wifi however WiFi is advertised but cannot reach the rooms. This was mentioned at least 5 times during my stay and each time I was told there is WiFi and they would reset it. WiFi does not even show on the networks when searching for it. Not acceptable to advertise WiFi and not have it. Love that the hotel has a dog.

The view from our room was absolutely beautiful. The people at the reception where very very nice. Our room was not very clean. I took pictures of the floor that looked like it had not been swept in days.

We just stayed one night and it was in a great location. It was right across from the medieval fortress. My room was very nice and clean. I had some trouble with the heat and patio door, but the receptionist attended to the matter immediately and solved the issue. We enjoyed the lounge area to meet with family and enjoyed cocktails and a snack. There didn’t seem like too many guests were in the hotel as we had the lounge to ourselves which was nice and almost private. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection for each of us all served at our table. The only disappointment was that my boiled egg was not cooked to my liking. I had asked for it to be well done and it was cooked soft. Other than that, everything was good. We didn’t use the facilities other than the lounge as we were only there for the night. It was a very pleasant experience to spend reuniting with family and would recommend this hotel if you want to see the medieval town. Great location!

One young male member of staff gave a recommendation of a local cocktail served at the hotel. It was very good. He also helped with explaining about the tickets for a train journey I had booked. The red decor of the room we stayed in was a bit oppressive but it didn’t spoil our stay: minor gripe.

We love how close it was to the fortified city. It was so easy just to walk across the street to the gate. Rooms were clean (wallpaper a little outdated but no biggie). We tried the spa as well and enjoyed it. Front desk very helpful

The property is run down. It could use some upgrades. Air conditioning is shared by 4 rooms so doesn’t work. Decorating could be better. Cheap wall paper to cover old walls. Hallways painted black and carpet is dirty and worn.

Hôtel très bien situé aux pieds de la citadelle de la citadelle, pratique pour la visite. Chambre confortable et bien équipée. Toutefois : il manque un frigidaire surtout l'été, la clim est à réviser car trop bruyante, trop longue à se mettre en route et s'arrêter.

The hotel had a great location and excellent parking facilities, but the room was impossibly small and the shower controls took me a half hour to figure out and could never maintain constant temperature. Consequently, we avoided showering.

We just stayed one night and it was in a great location. It was right across from the medieval fortress. My room was very nice and clean. I had some trouble with the heat and patio door, but the receptionist attended to the matter immediately and solved the issue. We enjoyed the lounge area to meet with family and enjoyed cocktails and a snack. There didn’t seem like too many guests were in the hotel as we had the lounge to ourselves which was nice and almost private. Breakfast was plentiful with a good selection for each of us all served at our table. The only disappointment was that my boiled egg was not cooked to my liking. I had asked for it to be well done and it was cooked soft. Other than that, everything was good. We didn’t use the facilities other than the lounge as we were only there for the night. It was a very pleasant experience to spend reuniting with family and would recommend this hotel if you want to see the medieval town. Great location!

Hotel Montmorency is 4* and right opposite the Hotel Chateau which was 5* so they share the same facilities which made it a great stay. Fantastic location set back 200m from Carcassonne entrance Gorgeous pool area, a bit smaller than official photos suggest but still lovely Breakfast was amazing, an array of dishes served to you by a waitress, fruit, cheese, ham, pastries, croissants, white and brown rolls and option for boiled eggs and muesli. Lovely setting at front of hotel overlooking the castle for breakfast, food and drink, gardens are beautiful The decor in the Montmorency is a bit on the loud side and the rooms a little small but the beds are very comfortable and great shower. Very pleased with our stay though a little disappointed that they did nothing at all to help us celebrate my 60th birthday and our silver wedding anniversary despite banners and cards all over our room and we’d notified them months in advance?

Perfect location. We went to Carcasson Cite every night for dinner. It is just steps from hotel. Hotel staff very nice. Food was good in their restaurant. Parking is easy. Room had little patio, but too cold now. Patio door did not lock. Never fixed. Area feels super safe, though. Cite shops cute, mostly touristy. Amorino gelato there. Good stay.

Nestled in the shadow of the walls of the town of Carcassonne the hotel is the perfect base for exploring. Check-in was a breeze and, once settled, the staff helped us with directions to find a restaurant for dinner. They provided recommendations and tried to book but the restaurant was not answering. Breakfast was delicious with freshly boiled eggs to order and a plentiful selection of food. The only negative was that the car park entrance is potholed making entry difficult. There is a rear entrance that is flat but it would be good if the issues at the front could be fixed. All in all it was a great place to stay and I'd heartily recommend it.

Bonjour, Nous sommes venus passer un court week-end à Carcassonne en couple. Nous avons pu profiter du jacuzzi bien chauffé mais pas de buses de massages, seulement les bulles; la chambre était très bien aménagée mais un peu sombre malgré une chouette petite terrasse! Les joints de la salle de bains ont un peu vieilli. Le petit-déjeuner optionnel était très garni et pour tous les goûts, rien à redire! Le personnel est très chaleureux, connait bien son métier, bravo! Ce sera avec plaisir que nous retournerons séjourner à l'hôtel Montmorency ! MG&JC.

A very short walk to the Narbonne Gate leading into the main streets of the citadel. My room was bright and funky, a short walk from the main building, with access to the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. There is also a peaceful, covered sitting area near the pool. 24 hour reception, with 24 hour available for drinks and snacks. There is a small but lovely spa area, with a pool and various treatments for couples and individuals. All the staff was charming and helpful. I didn't want to leave.

The pool was empty when we got there, it was 34*c temperature outside, they said they would fill it up so put a hose pipe in, it took over 4 hours to fill to waist height.
