Abbondante colazione a buffet nell'accogliente zona giorno. Una particolarità: ho potuto acquistare il classico maglione islandese fatto a manno dalla nonna di Siggo.
Una fattoria immersa nella natura! La gentilezza e disponibilità di Siggi, anche nel raccontare la vita degli islandesi, sono state meravigliose. Stanza comoda e bagno tutto per me! Abbondante colazione a buffet nell'accogliente zona giorno. Una particolarità: ho potuto acquistare il classico maglione islandese fatto a manno dalla nonna di Siggo.

The guest house was so cool. I loved being on the farm. We are only there for one night though unfortunately so we can’t get to enjoy a lot of it. I wish I would’ve had more time there. But it was great to be out in the middle of nowhere and we even got to see some northern lights while we were there. Would definitely recommend! And Siggi was cool too!

Sehr gute und gepflegte Betten, tolles Frühstück, die Ausstattung sehr gemütlich und liebevoll gestaltet. Pretty much similar to what others said. Abt 15-20min of gravel road in order to get there, drive cautiously!!! The surrounding is absolutely beautiful—snow capped mountains, a creek, sheep around the area. Because it’s sort of isolated, it’s very quiet and peaceful. I went out later in the evening to take pictures of sheep around the farm. The host Siggy (hopefully I got their name right!) immediately greets you upon arrival and shows you the best hospitality. Absolutely loved chatting with him. He’ll tell you all about the stories of Iceland you never knew of! I couldn’t stop asking him about how farming is like in Iceland. Very fascinating! It’s a pretty small guesthouse with about 3 or 4 other rooms in total so it’s really not noisy. I had to check out early due to my itinerary and Siggy didn’t hesitate to set up breakfast earlier than normal for me— very grateful for that! Anyways, I would absolutely love to come back to this place in the future!!!

Excellent stay at a nice country type Inn. We stayed in the room with bathroom/shower. There are also three other rooms with shared bathroom. Big common area with satellite TV and fridge. Lots of chairs/table and couch. Ziggy is your host and he serves an excellent breakfast and can tell you great stories about Iceland history. Nice selection of family knitted sweaters should you wish to purchase one at a reasonable price. A hidden gem!

We had an amazing stay in the quiet, clean, and well equipped property. Details like the hearty breakfast and opportunity to purchase handknit wool sweaters made by his grandma set this experience apart from our other stays. However the highlight was spending time with our host Siggy as we talked about sheep farming and Iceland's history. His warmth and deep knowledge about all things Icelandic gave us a greater appreciation for the country.

We arrived late evening, quite tired, to the Skard Farm guest house. Siggi greeted us and gave us the basic property info. We were the only guests, which was actually kind of nice... so quiet and peaceful! I enjoyed a walk around to take some photos before turning in. Breakfast was very good and generous (great coffee!). Siggi joined us and we spent an hour talking, learning so much about Iceland culture, history, current economics, and more. Really wonderful host! The farm is off the beaten path for sure, but we felt so worth it. We slept so well and got great tips for our next day. It would be a good place to come for bird watching, hiking or biking if you had time... We took Siggi's recommendation as we started our day and went a bit north... we visited the French maritime museum up along the east fjords and Petra's rocks and then enjoyed a beautiful drive back through the fjords heading south on our way to Hofn the next night, but even the area around the farm is quite beautiful. Overall - great stay and very comfortable genuine family property and experience

Pretty much similar to what others said. Abt 15-20min of gravel road in order to get there, drive cautiously!!! The surrounding is absolutely beautiful—snow capped mountains, a creek, sheep around the area. Because it’s sort of isolated, it’s very quiet and peaceful. I went out later in the evening to take pictures of sheep around the farm. The host Siggy (hopefully I got their name right!) immediately greets you upon arrival and shows you the best hospitality. Absolutely loved chatting with him. He’ll tell you all about the stories of Iceland you never knew of! I couldn’t stop asking him about how farming is like in Iceland. Very fascinating! It’s a pretty small guesthouse with about 3 or 4 other rooms in total so it’s really not noisy. I had to check out early due to my itinerary and Siggy didn’t hesitate to set up breakfast earlier than normal for me— very grateful for that! Anyways, I would absolutely love to come back to this place in the future!!!

The guest house was so cool. I loved being on the farm. We are only there for one night though unfortunately so we can’t get to enjoy a lot of it. I wish I would’ve had more time there. But it was great to be out in the middle of nowhere and we even got to see some northern lights while we were there. Would definitely recommend! And Siggi was cool too!

Sehr gute und gepflegte Betten, tolles Frühstück, die Ausstattung sehr gemütlich und liebevoll gestaltet. Habe ich auf einer Farm so nicht erwartet, toller Gastgeber, sehr informativ und freundlich, sowie zuvorkommend. Es ist sehr idyllisch gelegen und herrliche Ruhe. War sehr gerne dort! Tausend Dank

bella esperienza, si dorme in mezzo al nulla piu' assoluto. Siggi è stato molto disponibile ed è stato bello chiacchierare con lui a colazione. Siamo stati fortunati ad avere la casa tutta per noi. Tenete a mente che per arrivare la strada è sterrata per circa 10 km, ma in buone condizioni nonostante la pioggia

The host Siggi, is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Iceland. We talked with him over coffee and breakfast which was delicious and included BTW. Siggi is the third generation farming on his grandfather’s land in a beautiful area right about Malari beach. He was able and enthused to discuss Icelandic history, conditions since becoming a republic in 1944, and future prospects given its ideal location between Europe and North America. All in all, nice homey atmosphere and friendly informed host. He shared his country with us. That was remarkable.

The host, Siggi, was fantastic: helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and very personable. His homemade Rhubarb jelly was yum-my! Beds and pillows were comfortable! Coffee and breakfast spread was top notch. Would definitely recommend!

Great experience in staying in middle of a farm. There is a river running near by in walkable distance, we can feel the fresh running water which was a added benefit. The host was really friendly and a local Islandic farmer. We had a great discussion about Islandic history and it's current happenings. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was great.
Great experience in staying in middle of a farm. There is a river running near by in walkable distance, we can feel the fresh running water which was a added benefit. The host was really friendly and a local Islandic farmer. We had a great discussion about Islandic history and it's current happenings. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was great.
