The hotel is close to trams and Amsterdam Zuid station which is convenient to go you destination and Centraal. There is no laundry facility though so the nearest place to do the laundry is at De Pjip station. But overall I would give it a 5 star rating.

Simplesmente incrível! Um dos melhores hotéis que já ficamos na vida. Atendimento impecável, café da manhã perfeito, hotel todo tecnológico, bicicletas a disposição para utilização gratuita, cama super king sem defeitos. O hotel fica em uma região “empresarial” diríamos assim, ao lado do WTC da cidade, apenas a 15-20min de metrô do centro de Amsterdam e apenas a 1 parada de trem do aeroporto, para mim foi a localização perfeita. Longe da muvuca do centro e ao mesmo tempo perto da tudo. O local do hotel é muito conveniente, tem tudo! Um parque lindo ao lado, onde fizemos passeio de bike, vale muito a pena. Quando voltarmos para Amsterdam esse será o hotel escolhido.

On the positive, rooms are very quiet, beds are huge, and the common lobby area very welcoming and comfortable. I like that bikes are available at no cost. However, Rooms are extremely small for 2 people, and the bathrooms are part of the room space itself. Toilet and shower are within glass pods and mostly in the way. Few amenities: no kettle, mini fridge, few outlets, tiny desk.

Citizen M has very helpful and attentive staff. We loved the 24 hour bar/food service . Perks to room are lighting and cleanliness. It is on small side and with breakfast averaged out to 187euro per night, I did ponder whether we should have stayed at hotel closer to Amsterdam central area for bit more money. We just felt that while it was very close to trains, there was very little restaurants/shops in surrounding area without walking 20-25 min. Everything else about service and friendliness of staff was excellent.

Great hotel - great bikes available for free, love the ambient lighting options in the room. Massive and very comfortable beds and loved the rainfall slower with perfect temperature control. All in all excellent. Could have done with some more obvious power sockets but not a big deal.

Very nice property, Clean and modern facility with very prompt and helpful staff. It was quiet and very close to the zuid metro ,train and bus station. The only downside was there was no fridge which made keeping cold drinks difficult. They have umbrella rentals for free in the lobby so save some space and leave yours at home lol. Would come back again.

Really close to station so easy to get around. I found the rooms very quiet and the bed super comfy. No fridge in the room but free still and sparkling water in reusable bottles always available downstairs which was nice!

Overall very good if you are a solo traveler. Room pretty clean, bed is very comfortable, thermostat easy to control via iPad. TV was a bit weird to control via iPad, sometimes it wouldn’t work or there was a lag. I wiped a little dust off the desk and bathroom shelves. Friendly, helpful staff. Location was very convenient for public transportation. Assisted self-check-in was simple. Shared spaces in the lobby were very nice. Great to grab drinking water from lobby. I really didn’t like: 1) the lack of privacy by using a glass shower with curtains that are basically see-thru, and toilet incorporated into the room—really only good for individual travelers or a couple that is okay with this setup. 2) there was black mold in the shower door tracks both above and below. 3) whenever you use the sink water splashes out even being very careful, so you have to wipe it up to avoid tracking dirt and dust all around the room. 4) the room is quite small so if you have anything more than a carryon suitcase there’s not room to open your luggage, also very minimal hanger space. 5) safe in my room didn’t work, 6) whenever I entered the room the window blinds would automatically open, which I found annoying bc I would have to close them again.

The best part about the property were the staff. The manager and people working were so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The downside is the rooms were dirty. First room was dirty so I asked for a change. Second room was dirty as well. I think the carpet and sealed windows, and drains in the tub trap the smell of the rooms. But I appreciate management trying to work something out for me. Would come for the food and people would not stay in the hotel rooms.

The room was very dusty and there were dust clumps on the floor. Also for such a small room it was not well laid out, the shower and toilet pods took up too much space and there was nowhere to put toiletries near the sink. Would have been better to have a smaller bed and more space in the room. Lack of in-room coffee was a huge disappointment. The staff was all very friendly and helpful but I would not stay here again. Wifi was good.

Pros: Sleek design. Love the restaurant's food and late hours.Comfortable bed. Charming vibe. Cons: I wish the hotel had a cash option. The fixtures are computer controlled and in some cases unnecessarily difficult to operate. My room was too small for two but would've been fine for one (the bed takes up half the room. The shower is odd.

Positives. Helpful and pleasant staff. Less than 10 minutes walk in nice neighborhood from Amsterdam Zuid train and metro station. Bed is comfy and room is functional. Quiet. Blackout drapes. The negatives are the weirdness of all CitizenM hotels. The bed is up against the window so one person needs to climb over the other one in bed. No kettle or coffee service. Limited privacy with a pull curtain between the bedroom and separate toilet room and shower. Restaurants within 10 minute walk. For us for 2 nights it worked - great price compared to central hotels and easy train access to Schiphol.

The room is not spacious at all. Poor design, no circulation or ventilation, can only access the bed from 1 side, no privacy, no space, can clearly see whoever is in the shower or using the toilet. Wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Citizen M South was full of kind and pleasant staff, good breakfast, great coffee, great power shower with plenty of hot water, super comfortable bed and easy check in and out. It was also located within a walking distance to the trains, metro and busses. The rooms were well isolated and quiet.

Citizen is generally a good option: convenience and nice food. Our experience however was through the lens of traveling with a service animal. Knowing that staff often is not familiar with service animals, we handed over documentation and inquired about specific rules the hotel may have. This went well. The receptionist went out of his way of sharing a photo of my daughter with her dog with colleagues. However, the next day my daughter overheard breakfast staff discussing merits of her service dog because it was neither a certain breed and too small in their opinion. She was standing in front of them but they hadnt recognized her. Talking in public about guests is never a good idea, and service animals come in different shapes and sizes. She told the staff members that, but it was an uncomfortable moment. People with service animals rely on their helpers for a reason, travel could be easier if staff was better trained on how to act in a respectful way in these situations.

From the moment we checked in the staff have been faultless, great English, extremely helpful and friendly. Stayed here in order to run the Amsterdam marathon and the experience has been great. Ordered pizzas for dinner here and they were delightful! Freshly made, packed with flavour and delicious! The room was compact but had EVERYTHING you could need, innovative tech made the rooms fun and meant you could control everything seamlessly! Really enjoyed my stay here

Wow, the staff here is great. They were kind, considerate, helpful, and must speak a half-dozen languages beween them. The property is clean, modern, and very well maintained. Everything i had to eat or drink there was great and the location is excellent being a 5 minute walk from the Amsterdam South rail station and numerous restaurants and businesses. I will definitely stay at citizenM hotels in the future.

Yet another great stay at Citizen M. The staff are lovely and always helpful - at any time. Unfortunately I fell ill while on holiday and they were kind enough to allow me to stay in the room a little later to rest up before the journey home. Great coffee and snacks, also very near the tram and train line so convenient to get around but quiet enough to get a good night sleep! Thansk again!

Had a really pleasant stay - all the staff working at this CitizenM were very helpful and friendly. The location was really close to the station to head into Centraal (about a 10 min walk) and there were also restaurants nearby. This hotel does have a 24/7 canteen - the bitterballen and chicken karaage were really good! I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel for Amsterdam Pride as the price was far more competitive than others nearer the centre of town. I was initially concerned it felt a little far out but actually it’s really well connected to the Metro and local trams. My only issue was quite late at night once public transport finishes you are quite reliant on taxis which could be challenge getting one on busier nights. The hotel room itself was compact but very comfortable and ideal for a few days stay. The lack of wardrobe could be an issue for longer stays. Some people have commented about the toilet and the shower which are in pods in the bedroom, the latter being see through. This wasn’t an issue for us as we are partners and there was a vanity curtain you could draw across if you wanted while showering. The room is controlled all by your iPad or the app which is a nice gimmick but I would rather have switches additionally so you don’t have to mess around to do stuff. Check in was super easy and we were able to access the room nearly two hours earlier which was a bonus as we had an early start. My only negatives are the disorganised food area when my partner tried to get coffees one morning, prioritising others ahead of him when he has been waiting longer. Also the 24 food service isn’t 24 as we found out when we returned at 3am after pride. All we wanted was a pizza to help soak up some of the alcohol but your staff first said there was no pizza, then the oven was busy with breakfast prep

The hotel is really close to transit and not too far of a walk to a growing neighborhood to the south with lots of restaurants and a supermarket. The hotel was clean, safe, and convenient, and the staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Will definitely stay again when we come back to Amsterdam!

Simplesmente incrível! Um dos melhores hotéis que já ficamos na vida. Atendimento impecável, café da manhã perfeito, hotel todo tecnológico, bicicletas a disposição para utilização gratuita, cama super king sem defeitos. O hotel fica em uma região “empresarial” diríamos assim, ao lado do WTC da cidade, apenas a 15-20min de metrô do centro de Amsterdam e apenas a 1 parada de trem do aeroporto, para mim foi a localização perfeita. Longe da muvuca do centro e ao mesmo tempo perto da tudo. O local do hotel é muito conveniente, tem tudo! Um parque lindo ao lado, onde fizemos passeio de bike, vale muito a pena. Quando voltarmos para Amsterdam esse será o hotel escolhido.

The location was very good. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was very good. I really liked the chia pudding. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. I arrived very early in the morning and didn’t expect to be able to check-in at such early hour, but the staff kindly let me. I would like to stay here again.

Hotel chain with super-efficient rooms and modern vibe. Great for singles, need to be really comfortable with each other if two-some. Hotel has a great breakfast buffet with comfortable seating. This one is a short walk from the Zuid station for the train, metro and a tram line.

Such a high tech hotel. Shower and toilet set up needs getting used to but not a big deal. I love the bed and pillows, so comfortable. So many choices for breakfast, and the staff are great.

Quiet and polished, staff is gentle and they are always keeping restaurant cleaned. Good night meals, awesome check in experience (the app is fantastic). Room is very comfortable. I must admit the shower is a little bit "modern" for me but room was pleasant. Breakfast is also very good. Hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood so if you want to enjoy the lobby, it's the right place to be.

Citizen M has very helpful and attentive staff. We loved the 24 hour bar/food service . Perks to room are lighting and cleanliness. It is on small side and with breakfast averaged out to 187euro per night, I did ponder whether we should have stayed at hotel closer to Amsterdam central area for bit more money. We just felt that while it was very close to trains, there was very little restaurants/shops in surrounding area without walking 20-25 min. Everything else about service and friendliness of staff was excellent.

Amazing staff, nice quiet area and funky room. I don’t think I would’ve liked sharing it though as the bathroom situation is unusual but as a solo traveller it was perfectly fine. Room spotless and breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had!
