Comfortable stay in an excellent old inn. The room had a large bathroom with a shower and plenty of room for toiletries. The hot water was available immediately. Room service was good and WiFi good enough to stream live football on mobile devices. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. The restaurant served a reasonable selection at average prices and there is room for improvement with the service here regarding the accuracy of the bill. The hotel appears to have been an old coaching inn and the car park which is very small, is accessed on South Street by the zebra crossing to Tesco and through two arches. There wasn’t any space available when we arrived and we had to park in the local council long stay car park until space became available later that afternoon. Our room, #3 faced on to the High Street and Friday night into Saturday morning was at times noisy with rowdy people passing by.

Very happy with our stay, albeit just one night. Warm welcome from staff, good evening meal and breakfast, room impeccable. Lucky to have a parking space...As a 'pub/ hotel' ticks all the boxes. Thank you
