Just a single night here but very comfortable. Took advantage of the pub and restaurant! Nice food, arrived quickly. A good choice of ales available. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Our room was at the rear with a view of the steam railway. It was very nice to see a couple of trains arrive and depart. Our room was very quiet. Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely few days away and fairly nice pub to stay in the only let down for us was it clearly states it had a electric charge point through this website and it doesn’t we only booked this place for that reason alone So was a tad let down having to go and charge the car somewhere each day

The hotel is dated and due to be renovated over the next few months I believe. But even so, it was a pleasant stay and the location perfect for my needs. Bar was lovely and breakfast included is always a bonus.

Superb room - comfiest bed ever - friendly staff - great area - easy parking - lovely breakfasts Only downside was music (which was too loud) in the bar & restaurant in the evenings. We wanted to eat our evening meals there but we were told there were no quiet places to sit as the speakers were all around and the noise level could not be lowered so we had to find somewhere else to eat. Music that is too loud makes it difficult for anyone who may be a bit hard of hearing to enjoy conversation

Food was good but having booked and paid for breakfast to find out if wasn’t served until well after I left for work was irksome. On my checkin night at 9pm, I was ‘encouraged’ to leave the bar and take my drink to my room. This alone is enough for me to avoid booking this accommodation again despite the good proximity to my office.

Stayed here for work. The room was very dirty. You can see the cleaner did bare minimum. Didn’t get to try the breakfast as it did not start till 8:30 and I left at 8. I did mention this to the staff member and there was no offer to accommodate. I didn’t eat here I ate somewhere else. Trying to get out on the main road was also a nightmare.

Fantastic mini break. Food was excellent and plenty of it especially the breakfast.Staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. Room was really clean and comfy. Couldnt fault anything with our stay and highly recommend it you will not be disappointed

Booked this as a last minute break, the weather was terrible but our stay at this hotel more than made up for it. We were made to feel welcome when we arrived and were delighted to find the main bus route ran outside the hotel allowing us to spend our three days exploring the area car free. The food on offer was excellent with a good choice each night that was wonderfully cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and efficient, making our stay relaxed and pleasant. We would not hesitate to recommend or to book another short stay.

The food was excellent, breakfast which was included was enormous, We ate dinner there one night and the food was very good with large portions. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times, for a 3 star hotel i cannot fault out stay
