Hope and Anchor Hotel

Great place for touring the local area. Nice clean rooms with large shower , good food,nice staff. Down side is the parking,a bit hit-and -miss but overall great place.

Brilliant pub with rooms. The room i stayed in was huge, with a lovely large bathroom and sofa/tv area. More like a suite than a double room. There is a very good food menu and the restaurant also offers takeaway. They were completely dog friendly, not just "dogs allowed", making sure her every need is met. They were very trusting with guests, allowing us to walk through the bar area after closing, to enter or exit the property. Super clean

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff really helpful. They stored our bikes and had them ready for our departure. Breakfast was delicious and a great location. Thanks!

This hotel is “ rustic “ a little and it is a pleasure to stay there. The room was big and plenty of drawers and cupboards. The bed was really comfortable. The service at the meals was amazing. Food great. Not a huge choice but easily enough to choose from. Would recommend this hotel. The only drawback is the difficulty of parking as the town is small and there are few places to park near.

Alnmouth is a beautiful little village. The msin street is one way so to park on street you will have to follow the one way system.which takes you down to the links, then up past the golf course and around to the main street. We got there at about 2:30pm and drove around to find oarking. After 5 failed attempts, we decided to pop up to Alnwick for a bit and come back. After our trip up the road, we parked on the links road at the bottom, in designated on road parking bays. There are steps up from this road (near the flats) that lead up to the village store, a few yards away from the Hope & Anchor. So we just left the car parked at the bottom and carried our bags up the stairs. Check in was quick and courteous, we we were directed upstsirs to our room. It was beautifully decorated and furnished The bedding was thick and luxurious, as were the towels. The bathroom was large as was the walk in shower. Tea tray had a selction of tea and coffee, with teo types of cookies to choose from. Clean, spacious and airy rooms. No noise or smells from the pub snd restaurant below. Slept soundly, no outside noise at all an we had the window open. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, wheetabix, muesli or rice crispies and a cooked breakfast from a menu that consisted of full english, full english vegi, eggs benedict ir eggs florentine. Breakfast drinks were fruit juices ,tea and coffee. Breakfast also csme with toast as an added extra. Great breakfast, it hit the spot.

Stayed here for one night only. The whole pub has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. It is clean and comfortable with modern rooms. Food is both local and Italian. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the parking restrictions throughout Alnmouth village, although Hope and Anchor staff are happy to advise the best current parking options. I would certainly re-visit the Hope and Anchor.

Ideal for a for short stay. Rooms are small but cosy. Got your bed, television, tea, coffee and kettle. Plenty of storage spaces: wardrobes and drawers. Ensuite bathroom (walk-in shower) as well. A few breakfast options: cereal- help yourself, toast and cooked options available. Parking is limited - they're are some free spaces several minutes walk away. Staff - couldn't fault them. I would stay here again.

Super room and excellent evening meal. No parking onsite which we did know as we had researched it so we spent a time looking for a space in the village . We entered the hotel at a minute to 5 pm and I immediately tried to order some drinks on Happy Hour menu ( 3-5 pm) as it was my husband’s Birthday and he had driven a long distance. However we were told flatly that it was too late. No apologies or explanations despite the fact that it was before 5 pm when I asked. Customer service with the staff was much to be desired apart from our waitress for the evening meal who was lovely. On check out there was no Goodbye or checking if we had enjoyed ourselves!

Enjoyed my 2 night stay at the Hope and Anchor and I think 4 out of 5 is about right.A couple of negatives, breakfast not available before 8-30 and the evening meals were a bit expensive which had us going into Alnwick for other options.Parking was difficult but we found somewhere a couple of minutes walk away.Breakfast was very good with a choice of the usual hot options.

Clean, tidy friendly pub! Perfect for a stay in Alnmouth!

Hotel is well located in Alnmouth. The staff are excellent and the evening meal was good. The hotel is dog friendly which I must admit, I didn’t realise at the time of booking. The hallway, stairs and landing carpet was very soiled and badly needs replacing with hardwood flooring. The room we had (curlew) was very small and the bedroom window had obscure glass. Once again the floor was carpeted and needs replacing with hardwood flooring which would help keep the place more manageable with all the dogs being there.

Lovely location on main/only street in Alnmouth, near several nice pubs and restaurants- also, above a very nice pub. Bed was comfy and good size for two, decor was lovely and fresh, shower pressure was good, perfect cleanliness. Pub food is amazing and they easily found us a table. You get a key to the front door so if you come back after the pub has closed you let yourself in through the empty bar which was a cool experience. Helpful staff, nice varied breakfast options. Loved it.

The room was a nice size and good value. Plush towels and a rather large bed made nice touches. Everything was clean and tidy other than some high level cobwebs. The bathroom extractor wasn’t working which made for a humid bathroom but large window (and fan supplied in the room) in the bedroom alleviated it. I would stay again

Staff were lovely and very helpful. The place is looking a little tired. Carpets well worn. Bathroom was a tight squeeze with the sink behind the door. Bed was comfy and the Amazon fire stick was a bonus.

Loved evening meal. Breakfast wasn't that great. Room very small and dated, mould in shower area and no heating on in bathroom very cold

I stayed in the room Seagull. The 2 wall mounted wall lights 1 was broke the other had no bulb. The heating wasn’t on and it was cold in the room. The Wi-Fi was terrible and it was supposed to work the TV which made for terrible viewing, buffering half of the time. There was no shower gel in the shower and the extractor fan didn’t work. I didn’t have the breakfast as it didn’t start until 8.30amand I was leaving earlier than that. A bit disappointed especially when I paid £112 for the night

Nice little room but should have booked a bigger bed. A double was small. The rooms were not very sound proofed. English breakfast great but would not recommend eggs Benedict!

Pros: -Lovely comfortable room and bed. -Fantastic large shower room and spacious shower with lovely flow. -Nice location minutes sea front and bus station to Alnwick and other locations. -Nice and quiet...slept well. - Nice breakfast both days. Cons: - wi fi was patchy and come and went a lot. - TV the same as wi fi. - Breakfast starts at 8.30...way too late for my liking.

Loved the location but room on the small side, walls thin so I was kept awake by snoring and phone alerts on one side and the noise of a dog on the other.

Great location with plenty of on street parking outside (free and unlimited after 6pm). Hotel has been renovated to a good standard, comfy bed, large shower, modern decor etc. Bar area does great food at a reasonable price. Spot on stay. Would go back

Great location 5 mins from the beach, staff were friendly & accommodating, dinner & breakfast was great especially the fish & chips which was exceptional Only negative was room had frosted glass so no view & only a small window so room was very stuffy and warm

Staff were really nice and welcoming. Food was great. Overall the place has a nice modern feel within an old traditional pub. The room we had was nice, however the window was frosted as it backed on to the kitchen yard and with one small opener made it extremely hot. I would however stay there again.

Checked in to be asked if we’d been told how hot the Curlew room was as it’s above the kitchen, has a large frosted glass window with a tiny window pane to open. Hotels.com does not mention this and neither did any of the 3 emails sent by The Hope & Anchor. After spending an hour in the room when it was 25 degrees outside with 3 fans that just circulated the hot air in the room, I went to reception. I’d checked Hotels.com so knew there were 2 other rooms available so they kindly upgraded us to a much better room with 2 open windows. So glad we were able to do this.

Well decorated room with the basics included (shampoo, conditioner, tea, coffee). Breakfast was options of fry up or egg dishes. No options of fruit. Pillows on bed were very flat and not comfy. Good location and free parking on street. Fire alarm went off on Sunday morning and staff were not able to turn it off until the manager arrived which was an inconvenience.

Marcus and the team were amazing! Great service, atensuin to detail and really friendly made our stay fabulous. We booked dinner for the first night, the food was lovely, so much so we eat there again the following night. We’d definitely recommend the fish and chips, pizza and Zuppa Di Pesce - amazing fresh fish and tomato soup!

We're just back from a great weekend at this lovely hotel. Great room, delicious food, and attentive staff. Perfect location to explore beautiful Alnmouth.

Really pleasant stay at the Hope and Anchor. Staff made us feel very welcome. Great breakfast and a good sized and comfortable bedroom. Dog friendly bar. Will stay again next time we are in the area thanks to Marcus and all the staff.

Fantastic location in the beautiful village of Alnmouth. 3min drive / 15 min walk to Alnmouth station. 3min walk to beautiful beach. Evening meals and breakfasts were excellent (although 1 breakfast service very slow, almost missed our train). Staff very helpful. Some rooms at front, great. One at back above kitchen, bathroom good but no view from bedroom window.

Fantastic stay in beautiful Alnmouth. Lovely room (Lapwing). Great service. Nice food in the restaurant. The breakfast was probably one of the best hotel breafasts I have had. Wish I had tried the fish and chips as it looked fantastic. Would definately stay at the Hope and Anchor again.

Great place for a short break. The food in the evening was excellent. Much better than you would expect from a pub. However the breakfast was a bit basic and a bit slow when busy. But don’t let that put you off. Great place to stay

Really good . Very helpful staff. Good food + vegetarian & gluten-free options. Only disappointment was that could nt get a boiled egg for breakfast.
