Everything about the Bedford Arms is lovely - all the lobby and common areas and multiple dining rooms are each unique and cozy. The outdoor dining patios are also lovely. Room decor was great - 4-poster bed, nice bathroom - everything was top notch.

Had a wonderful stay in the Bedford Arms, the pub is beautiful and has a lot of character to it. The team were all incredibly helpful and welcoming as well plus great food for dinner and breakfast - highly recommend!

Warm and welcoming pub with rooms, good ales and wine list. My room was above the pub and I believe the kitchen as could hear the music coming from the kitchen but music was off by 9.30pm.

Stayed here as part of a long distance cycling trip (be warned, it is up a steep hill but worth it!), bikes can be stored securely and out of sight upon request. Very comfy hotel, feels very luxurious. Delicious evening meal and breakfast, good to see lots of named UK sourcing for the ingredients. Beautiful gardens which, surprisingly, were only occupied by Tiramisu the Cat on the sunny evening we were there! Would stay here again someday.

Overall stay nice. Staff very nice. But room needed a little a little bit of extra attention on carpet areas & walls. Also food at breakfast needed to be covered due to hot weather & a lot of flies.

Very nice property and exceptionally clean with very comfortable beds and bedding. It looks like they were a little shy on staffing thus service was a little slow, including in the restaurant. Would still recommend this property.

The hotel is in a very picturesque setting in rural Chenies. We had a spacious, spotless room and a large ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was in good condition and the sheets and towels were of excellent quality. Having a fridge was also very useful. The evening meal was tasty, though the choices were limited, as there had been problems with deliveries. The full English breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. All the staff were friendly, polite and professional. We would certainly return if we were in the area again.

The afternoon food was great and the ambience good. In the evening although staff were helpful, clearly not experienced and I was not impressed with my evening meal. The accommodation was very comfortable and en suite clean. However, evidence of damp/damaged walls need attention and bedside lights failed on one side.

Nice room, large bed, however springs in mattress were uncomfortable. Shower, and washbasin had problems. Breakfast ok, needs some work on the hot chocolate. No dainish pastries etc.

Delightful little find as wanted somewhere with a pub and not hotel restaurant nearby. Gorgeous rooms, comfy bed and loved the bathroom underfloor heating. Super quiet area and would be amazing in the summer for walking around.

The room was beautifully appointed. Last stayed here 5 years ago - what a transformation! Lovely linen and huge towels. Coffee machine, air con and good toiletries. Fresh milk - lovely touch. Dinner menu was typical pub grub. Fish and chips a bit too oily for me. Breakfast was excellent- good choice and plenty (we were too full up from dinner to take advantage!) super friendly staff.

The Bedford Arms is a great place to stay, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, the bathroom had a really powerful shower which I always appreciate. The Breakfast is First Class and cooked to order. The room rate is however usually out of my allowance, but this is a regional issue.

Hotel had just reopened after a refurbishment. The room was lovely. However, during the two night stay, we were unable to shower. Shower water was barely warm. When we reported the problem on the first morning, the ‘deputy manager’ was very unhelpful. Rude and unsympathetic. Said he would try and get a plumber and update me later. Never saw him again or heard another word from him! Unable to shower on both days we were there. Such a shame, as the hotel has been refurbished to a good standard. The hotel is part of the Youngs chain, so they will definitely be getting a letter from me.

Beautiful hotel but, unfortunately, when we went for an evening drink in the bar the barman seemed to be on his own & rushed off his feet. We decided to walk along the road to the Red Lion pub & had a warm welcome from the many staff.

Such a great little hotel. Had booked one night mainly to have somewhere to stay before heading to Warner Bros Studios the next day. Had booked something that looked a little nicer than the cheaper hotels. But still looking for something good value as the hotel wasn't the main point of interest. However, when we arrived we were so happily surprised. It's located in a gorgeous little village outside Watford. The building is so lovely with beautiful gardens and outdoor seating. The room has wonderful character and interior design. Spacious and so cozy with very comfortable beds. We were absolutely gobsmacked and I keep thinking about when I could potentially go there again, we had such a lovely time. Staff was wonderful and so friendly. We also had dinner and breakfast, and I believe the burger I had was one of the best I've had in a long time. The breakfast was also very delicious and well worth it. The bathroom was also really lovely and spacious. Bonus points for there being actual conditioner in the shower and not just shampoo and shower gel. Id recommend this to anyone, and I'm looking forward to having a chance to stay here again.

We also had dinner and breakfast, and I believe the burger I had was one of the best I've had in a long time. The breakfast was also very delicious and well worth it. The bathroom was also really lovely and spacious. Bonus points for there being actual conditioner in the shower and not just shampoo and shower gel. Id recommend this to anyone, and I'm looking forward to having a chance to stay here again.

The hotel is in a very picturesque setting in rural Chenies. We had a spacious, spotless room and a large ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was in good condition and the sheets and towels were of excellent quality. Having a fridge was also very useful. The evening meal was tasty, though the choices were limited, as there had been problems with deliveries. The full English breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. All the staff were friendly, polite and professional. We would certainly return if we were in the area again.

I stayed here before Christmas to avoid falling asleep on the motorway driving north after an overnight flight to Heathrow and it was the perfect place to break the journey. The Bedford Arms is on the edge of the tiny village of Chenies and is a warm and charming small hotel with very comfortable rooms, a good restaurant and bar. The staff were all very helpful and attentive, especially the female manager - I felt very welcome and looked after. The beautiful and ancient Chenies Manor House is within walking distance but sadly was not open to visitors the day I was there.

Stayed here as part of a long distance cycling trip (be warned, it is up a steep hill but worth it!), bikes can be stored securely and out of sight upon request. Very comfy hotel, feels very luxurious. Delicious evening meal and breakfast, good to see lots of named UK sourcing for the ingredients. Beautiful gardens which, surprisingly, were only occupied by Tiramisu the Cat on the sunny evening we were there! Would stay here again someday.

Such a great little hotel. Had booked one night mainly to have somewhere to stay before heading to Warner Bros Studios the next day. Had booked something that looked a little nicer than the cheaper hotels. But still looking for something good value as the hotel wasn't the main point of interest. However, when we arrived we were so happily surprised. It's located in a gorgeous little village outside Watford. The building is so lovely with beautiful gardens and outdoor seating. The room has wonderful character and interior design. Spacious and so cozy with very comfortable beds. The room was beautifully appointed. Last stayed here 5 years ago - what a transformation! Lovely linen and huge towels. Coffee machine, air con and good toiletries. Fresh milk - lovely touch. Dinner menu was typical pub grub. Fish and chips a bit too oily for me. Breakfast was excellent- good choice and plenty (we were too full up from dinner to take advantage!) super friendly staff.

Great Village Inn, the bedroom was nice and clean and had Air Conditioning. Breakfast was one of the Best I have ever had, and freshly cooked to order. I will certainly stay here again.

Attractive inn, with outdoor seating and comfy indoor seating. Some rooms in the main building, some outside in a stable type block, which we were in. Staff very friendly, food good and a good selection but our room decor was tired. Peeling paintwork on the walls, lots of scuffs, broken window pane, one side a lovely field view; the other a row of blue bins. Our room definitely needed some TLC. On the plus side; lots of hot water, good shower, comfy beds and clean linens. That only leaves the general decor condition as a let-down which is a shame.
