Took my husband to celebrate our anniversary. It was a surprise and he had no idea where we were going. He was completely blown away as we pulled into the driveway and approached the portcullis. WOW! is about all he could manage to say. Everything about this hotel is just fabulous. Staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Our gatehouse suite was incredible, the gardens are stunning and breakfast was delicious. We didn’t want to leave. Thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere really special and truly memorable.

Staff were fantastic. Even when we did drop-off in the car. They came out to greet us and take our luggage in Direct explaining about the castle and showing us where the lounges were and breakfast room. Staff couldn’t do enough we like fresh milk they said they would bring it up for us Breakfast was amazing the chef was very good enjoyed sitting in the lounge in the evening, having drinks and a snack one comment. Shame you didn’t do burger and chips for a snack meal in the evening

This was a stay in a lovely castle! There are ruins on the property but it adds to the charm. The grounds are maintained beautifully, our room was gorgeous, comfortable and well appointed. The staff could not be more professional, thoughtful and helpful. We had a lovely dinner and delicious breakfast in the castle’s hall. This stay has been on my bucket list for many years and Amberley castle fulfilled it perfectly!

We stayed for one night in a standard room, which was very comfortable and spacious, with a view of the extensive grounds. The buildings and gardens are beautiful and the staff friendly and attentive. Our room was below a family room which unfortunately for us was occupied by children who jumped around and slammed doors until gone 1am, and I’m assuming it was the children! Not the hotel’s fault of course but noteworthy. Breakfast was good, served at the table. There were two waiters - a highly experienced man, who was excellent, and another one who was either very inexperienced or having a bad day. Coffee was brought full of grounds and had to be sent back, and my partner’s cooked breakfast was plonked on the table before she’d finished eating some porridge. Not the service I’d expected. Despite our experiences, I would still recommend Amberley Castle as a great place to stay as it oozes charm - and you’re unlikely to have kids bouncing around in the room above you, or meet that particular waiter.

Staying at a Castle has always been on my bucket list. Grounds around the castle are well manicured. Staff are great. Very old school style comfort and service. Bathroom facilities are modern. Rooms are well appointed. Its not cheap, but if you can afford it would recommend as a special occasion.

Unfortunately my stay was spoilt by the fact that I had a ground floor room and could hear the person ( probably a man) thumping around in the room above me. It went on both evenings and I even knew what time the person got out of bed in the morning and started thumping around before going to breakfast.

Two night stay, dined at a local pub in Amberley the first night and at the Hotel the second night. The service and food in the restaurant at breakfast and at dinner was excellent. The hotel staff I spoke to on the phone before arrival and all the staff came in contact with while there were polite, friendly and helpful. The room was kept clean and tidy with tea and coffee replenished each day for duration of stay.Option of free daily newspaper explained at check in.

The Amberley Castle hotel is beautiful. The village is picture perfect and the location excellent for exploring. I have marked as excellent which in most ways it is. The room was beautiful. However maintenance of the room could be improved. One blind was faulty and needed a repair. The shower head needed fixing as dripped rather than sprayed and the shower glass moved so the floor got very wet when having a shower. Small things that did not spoil our stay but surprising nonetheless. Would however highly recommend.

If it had been less expensive it would have been fine, but they've clearly opted to go for the money no object customer, and for that they should do better. We enjoyed our stay at this unique historic castle property that has a character all of its own. The standard room we occupied was full of character with intruding roof beams, comfortable and well appointed. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. It was our wedding anniversary and were made to feel special without the attention being excessive. We had a pleasurable and memorable stay.

Staying overnight at a castle has been on my bucket list for quite some time. My Amberley Castle stay did not disappoint. The accommodations were a perfect blend of 21st century comforts and a centuries-old castle. My son and I stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our beautiful rooms and breathtaking grounds, along with impeccable service and delicious food. Every request to the staff was fulfilled cheerfully and efficiently.

Great stay! Was upgraded to nicer room on arrival. Comfy beds, lux bathroom, tea/coffee and fresh baked cookies - heaven! Walked to Amberley Black Horse pub for drinks & snacks (and board games) then back to hotel for their 5 course tasting menu - most enjoyable!

Coming from the US, Napa has always been a bit of a getaway for me. So when I had the chance to take a weekend away from Central London and find some tranquility, Amberley Castle was the instant cure. What a gorgeous location. The castle was a sight to behold and the staff, the breakfast, dinner, you name it, it was absolutely sublime. The weather was not the best this particular weekend, but it didn't matter as the room was so nice and just the peace and quiet away from the city was really what was needed. What a treat for those that can book a room at Amberley Castle. Absolutely loved it here.

This was expensive for what it was, even for a castle stay. The room was nice, but not outstanding for the price. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfy, the grounds were cute. For what you pay, would be nice to receive complimentary drink of arrival or something. Don't do dinner here, so completely over priced (yes, I know you are paying more for a castle, but even then - we spent about $500AUD on a OK dinner, it was crazy!)
