Grovefield House Hotel By Uno -FREE PARKING

The hotel was much better than I expected and I can not understand why it wasn't more heavily booked. It is a little off the beaten path but that was fine with us. Staff and facilities (bar and restaurant) were very good. If the location fits your trip, I would recommend Grovefield House.

Parking is ample, and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rara bar had a very low key relaxed atmosphere, a great variety of drinks. All in all, a very pleasant relaxing time. Thank you!

Good location for my recent trip back to the UK, with plenty of free parking, and peaceful countryside surroundings.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in August 2024. It is a classic building in large grounds with plenty of free parking and woodlands to the rear. The public rooms are comfortable with a bar and a restaurant serving a first class breakfast and extensive dining menu. Our bedroom was also comfortable and our only complaint was that the shower water pressure was low; a solution to which is apparently under investigation. The real strength of this hotel is in it’s staff, every one of which with whom we had contact went out of their way to be friendly and of service. These included Ashley, Nicky, Frankie, Samantha, Denzil, and Steve. Our thanks to all and apologies for any misspellings.

Nice period property, quite comfortable if a bit dated - which adds to its character anyway! Small cosy bar with typical barfood menu. It's a pity the restaurant was closed. Breakfast hot food made to order, buffet food quite basic. This is my second time back, I will visit again when in the area!

My only complaint was there was no air conditioning and it was very hot trying to sleep at night. There was a small fan in the room, but it did not do the trick. The bathroom was updated and the shower was very nice and the water hot. There was a TV, but it wasn’t a smart TV and only got the local channels. There was no mini refrigerator available, so our drinks were warm and we couldn’t save our leftovers. I also asked if someone could heat up our leftovers in the kitchen since there was no microwave available, but they said for insurance purposes they could not. There was also no ice machine. there was an electric kettle in the room with tea and instant coffee, but there was no coffee available. Overall, it was quiet and the staff helpful. I recommend this hotel, and my complaints are probably because I am American. It is out in the countryside and very quiet. Be prepared to take Ubers everywhere, including the closest Tube station. There is a cute restaurant and shopping area a few miles away. We got some good Italian food and there is a convenience store. There is also a great pub called The Bee.

We love this hotel. We got married here 20 years ago and it is still just as wonderful. The gardens are beautiful and so quiet. The rooms are lovely. The staff are brilliant. If it had air con in the rooms then it would be absolutely perfect! Overall, we would definitely stay again.

Receptionist was friendly. Went to the bar as we were told it’s open, however there was no one serving. I can only assume the receptionist also looks after the bar. This would be the hotels fault for making their staff work multiple roles. I paid extra for a deluxe king room. My friend went for the standard. Both the rooms were identical… There was no air con or heating in the room from what I could see. My friends couldn’t find anything in theirs either. We woke up in the morning freezing cold. The WIFI did not work on my phone. Worked on my laptop however. Strange. Walls aren’t overly thin but enough that I could hear the people in the next room having a chat. They weren’t exactly shouting. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of storage and well placed plug sockets. “Flat screen TV” is debatable. Probably something you’d have in 2010. TV’s aren’t expensive nowadays so probably time to upgrade. Overal it was OK. Not something to write home about. But…. If you get the standard room (don’t go for the deluxe) £65 a night, still much cheaper than the alternatives in the area.

House keeping and all staff were superb rooms are beautiful and always cleaned, the ground are very spacious and well kept we always have a brilliant stay and wouldnt try anywhere else

We stayed 4 nights in August 2024. The room and bed were clean and comfortable, and ideal for our stay. Breakfast was well presented and both a light continental and full traditional English were provided. Service was to the table and the staff were friendly , efficient and polite. The condition of the hotel was good, although the stairwell carpet was showing signs of wear and will need replacing soon.

Hotel was fairly clean, but the rooms need some updates and maintenance. I was in room 108 and there was no way to lock the door from inside the room - just a security chain. The shower was awful. Tepid water temperature (sink tap was fine for hot water), and the flow was so poor it took and age to wash any suds off especially as it’s a fixed head and I didn’t feel particularly clean afterwards. This wasn’t an issue that had just developed either, as the shower head was blocked with limescale, massively restricting the flow (see picture). Room was like a sauna. Only 3 tiny windows in the bay window would open a crack due to security features and all that’s provided is a small desk fan to circulate the hot air. I’ve stayed at other hotels recently with no AC, but they have provided multiple tower fans to help circulate and cool. It ruined my nights sleep as I couldn’t get cool enough to get comfortable. Issues reported to reception on check out and the response was indifferent. Just a ‘we will report it to maintenance’.

Very comfortable and clean room. Hotel is in beautifully maintained gardens. I had a very relaxing stay and will definitely be back.

This was a 3 night stay for business. The check in was seamless and quick. Facilities were explained and directions to the room easy to understand. The room was comfy and enough sockets for charging all my devices (laptop/ phone / iPad) shower was hot and room clean overall

Really lovely hotel, set in beautiful grounds. Spotlessly clean. Nice breakfast with several options incuding continintal and full cooked (depends on hotel packege). All staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend for a stay in the Windsor area. Will book if in the area again

The hotel doesn’t have aircon and it was a really hot evening when we stayed. There were two fans in the room which didn’t really assist in cooling down the room so it was a bit of an uncomfortable night. On the plus side the breakfast was excellent.

Good location, nice hotel but room Very hot and noisy till about 2am with chattering guests and banging doors!

The hotel was pleasant enough. We had to wait to check in but it was friendly. Our room was large and comfortable but unfortunately we didn't get a lot of sleep. The door to our room had a very large gap around the edge so the bright lighting from the corridor lit the room. Other guests could be heard clearly through the walls and corridor doors banged whenever anyone passed by. The room was close to reception and early morning we could hear draws and doors banging so it wasn't the most relaxing of stays.

This hotel is advertised as 4-star, but it falls short. Realistically, it’s more of a 3-star experience. Here’s a breakdown: 1. Bathroom • The heater in my bathroom didn’t work, and with no slippers or robes provided, the freezing tiles are unavoidable. • The shower head has almost zero pressure, especially if you’re on the top floor. This isn’t a malfunction—it’s a design flaw. With no pressure, there’s no hot steam in the bathroom, and combined with the lack of a heater, you’ll be shivering as you dry off. 2. Room • The room is spacious but slightly dusty in some areas. • The TV is outdated (around 15 years old) and not a smart TV. While you can bring a Firestick for streaming, the TV and walls lack USB ports for power, so you’ll need a USB plug adapter. • Noise is a significant issue: the floorboards creak, and you’ll clearly hear other guests. Even the front door moves when there’s a strong gust of wind. Breakfast The food is decent, but it’s not a buffet, so you’ll need to wait for your meal. Alternatives I’ve stayed at both the Copthorne and Burnham Beeches. While Grovefield offers the largest rooms, I’d highly recommend the classic double at Burnham Beeches (£99 if you’re lucky). Not only is the hotel fully refurbished, but the price also includes complimentary access to a gym and sauna. Conclusion If the issues with the bathroom and room were addressed, this could be a great hotel.

Hotel is nice but I was kept awake by the piano music from downstairs

The reason I have given 3 stars overall was not down to the food, or the warmth, or the comfy bed. Purely down to the noise levels of the restaurant music being heard in my first floor room, and secondly the creaking floorboards of the room above waking me up and god knows what ridiculous hour. Aside from those noise related issues, it would have been a higher rating.

My one observation would be that it's rather understaffed - they seem to be rushing to do everything - which might explain why for both dinner and breakfast, all courses arrived at once - so, in future one course at a time please - otherwise food was fine

Staff where friendly and the hotel was a nice place, would definitely return again.

Wonderful late night check-in with cheerful and professional clerk at reception. She got us processed quickly after a long day of travel - much appreciated. Our stay was short but very nice, and the convenience to Heathrow made our travel very pleasant. Great property we wish we'd had more time to enjoy.

Very pastoral and extremely convenient to LHR.

Nice stay near Windsor and Slough. Perfect base for visit to Cliveden House as it was very close by. Lovely full breakfast buffet with great friendly staff.

The stay was very good, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good - full english was cooked fresh the buffet meals were also tempting: except that they did run out of some breakfast items. The venue was very nice and in a lovely location with great views. It was a relaxing atmosphere. The room was nicely set out and plenty of room to unwind. The bathroom was dated - the shower, was not very well maintained. The toilet seemed to be needing 2/3 flushes. the fan in the bathroom was very noisy as it needed a good clean and service. Overall itwas a great place and I would certainly reccommend the stay.

I have known this hotel for over 25 years but only at xmas time.Apart from breakfast everything was A1 plus! I am of the opinion the lady organising the dining room had little idea of organisation and chef had no idea how to cook scrambled egg. However we shall return on 11th January next.

Breakfast was lovely

A brief stay for one night. Spacious room, nicely equipped. Breakfast service was quite slow and the buffet was certainly lacking options, disappointing considering the price. Pineapple the only fruit, no milk available for cereal, had to ask for it. You have to order toast. Very small sausage on the full English but it was tasty. Would be great if they could have a little more urgency in future.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Loads of parking spaces. Grounds well maintained and pretty. Bedroom was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. Food served in the bar was tasty and portions were good but highly priced for the standard. Wine is very expensive! Breakfast options good and fast service. The hotel does need updating. The central heating was permanently on and no thermostat on the bathroom radiator so it was unbearably hot. Same issue experienced in other guest rooms too. We had to keep windows wide open so not very environmentally friendly.

Had good stay. Great to sit outside. Restuarant meal was good as was breakfast. Have to call out Shayquinn (probably not spelt correct) as he was excellent in service provided.

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed and it was excellent value for the price. All the staff were lovely. Breakfast was nice, plenty of choice. My only complaint is the awful music they play in the dining room during breakfast.
