The young man that checked us in and got our meal was extremely attentive and excellent service. Amazing location on a hot summers night. In the morning we missed breakfast as it starts at 8

Intimidating staff! We booked this hotel for 2x nights with myself, my partner and my 3 year old son for a wedding in the local area. When we arrived the lady who checked us in and serving at the bar was really nice! But unfortunately it all went downhill from there. Our original hotel stay was £318 for 2x nights for a superior double room. We arrived on the Saturday, The room was nice but a lot of wear and tear which we then got blamed for! When we left for the wedding at around 12/1pm the next morning, there were no issues- my son had spilt a drink on the carpet but I did my best to clean it up and also informed the staff before leaving. Upon check in, the lady did advised that there is a curfew? So you cannot enter the hotel after 11pm. It says online that the hotel is open 24 hours. There were other multiple guests who were upset about this too. But this was the only time it was mentioned to us. We wanted to be respectful so we prebooked a taxi for 10:45 which ended up cancelling on us. We’re were waiting over an hour for another one - tried to ring the hotel multiple times and left 5 voicemails and no one answered. We received a message on Hotels.com (inserted below) stating about the curfew and that they have mentioned it to us multiple times - which felt very passive aggressive as it was only mentioned on check in. When we arrived back there was an older gentleman at the front door, as soon as we walked in he said to us “your room is a state” “it’s so messy up there”

Staying at Willington Hall was a lovely experience in terms of hospitality, nothing was too much trouble for the team. However, our room wasn't the cleanest. The four poster bed was extremely dusty and the windows were full of cobwebs, dead and living spiders. Dead flies, were on both the windows sills and floor to the bathroom. I did complain about this upon leaving and received an apology. The hotel is really lovely, just disappointed about our room.
